  • i wanna forget all about the juliars, and the waynes, and the robs and the whole mess that is australia today. i wanna go back to this time. this was the beginning of it all with the arrival of the beatles. this was the best time to be a teenager. thank you so much for posting this. I loved the" noo u w" and ward "pally: austin and his running amok in his confederate uniform. usually he made the front pages of the sydney papers.lol GOOD OLD DAYSYEAH

  • i won tickets to the beatles when they came to sydney in june 1963, the 11th i think. All i remember of the show, apart from actually being there in the statilum, was the noise. there was no way that anybody could have heard them. I want to know , if anybody can help, who was the rocker i think it was john somebody, who was a supporting act, and came out in all leather black and was booed . Of course he was booed, we were all mods, lol with our white stockings , really pale makeup, like twiggy.

  • @TheBobbsey I think it may have been Johnny Rebb.

  • @old45s thats h im , thank you so much, he was a rocker for gods sake, this was a heavy mod mob, lol

  • Fantastic memories of a great era in Sydney radio when Pally and the crew ruled the airwaves.

  • I agree! Watch this space in the New Year for another Video which will include Ron E Sparx plus plus! Also 2SM 60's and 70's plus more 'Pally'.

  • A wonderful station with unforgettable announcers.Remember Malcolm T Elliott,Ron E Sparks,Bazz and Pilko,Gary Jaeger, even John Laws had a few years there. It has now become MIX 106.5 Miss the original so much.

  • Now Sydney has 6 commercial FM radio stations. None have the energy of the 2UW of the 1960s or 2SM of the 1970s and early 80s.

    Sad.

  • Ah, the glory days when DJ's were older than 21 and dieted almost exclusively on Scotch and Marlboro's to get the voice they were looking for instead of 'comedians' in nappies as are the 'DJ's' of today's airwaves.

  • A long, long time since I've seen the 'New 2UW 1110 On Your Transistor' 60's bumper sticker. And what a memory shaker to once again hear 'Hunter Territory' and John Melouney's sign off track. Great stuff and well done to Wayne and all those involved in putting this montage together.

  • All I can say is a rick a poodey and a fandoogely.

  • FANtastic. Brings back old memories sitting around on Bronte Beach listening to the tranie. Voices that I had forgotten.
