Geez just listening to this music makes me want to see the movie, I have just been watching videos of it on Youtube for a while now. I gotta see what all the fuss is about...
Oh damn, I never realized how awesome 9's soundtrack was until I decided to search it. This movie was great, but I personally think it was wayyy too fast paced. Should have been a bit longer, in my opinion.
@whotookCheesusChrist All of the scenes seemed to go by unrealistically quick; it kind of makes me feel bad. If they took the time to make it even, this movie would be a ton better.
@whotookCheesusChrist That makes 3 of us. 9 was way too short; which is how it suffered in story & character development. But everyone knows that a lot of stuff that was cut out and we didn't see any of that. I want to meet the director and see what deleted stuff he had in mind.
@Stitchpunk9 If you look at the extras on the DVD theres a few storyboard ideas they had - for instance, the Key around 6 neck was originally going to be used to unlock the box that played the scientist message.
@arella9977 Wall-E was about pollution, while 9 was about our mistakes in trusting science too much. They are both very good movies. 9 was just much darker.
I was all like: YES! FINALLY HE DIES! then I was: NO 1! AH WHY DID YOU DO THAT? then I got pissed off and paused the movie to cry because i'm a traitorous bitch who hates the main character.
@GigaRagnaSlave. I agree with you. Love to see a sequel to continue this story. The finish is amazing, but it gets you thinking 'What will happen next?' I can't wait, if it happens.
Heavy Metal and Classical music, in my opinion they're the two of the best kinds of music to listen to. This movie had an amazing score, I just hope that they create a sequal to tie up the story line a little more:).
@Allahanna1 Lol, I know the feeling. I'm a fanfic writer myself, though I mostly deal with Japanese Anime more so than movies:). I've completed a Sailor Moon fanfic, and I'm currently working on a Slayers fanfiction. I'm also working on my own original novel, which I hope to have done by the end of this year:).
It's so sad. 1 comes to his senses, but dies after. And 9 figures out how to stop the machine without harming the others. I'm going to regret saying this but... 6 WAS
wow this was a great movie and i can beleave most of it... except rag-dalls as the last of humans but the war... how we can have so much power it gets crupted and goes ker-splat in our faces
welcome home!!! just type welcome home 9 in and if u dont like the voices type in welcome home instrumental and its the one with the big VI or IV i dont remember
i was actually mad that they didnt have the song on the soundtrack at the part when the mechanical spiders where crawling into the tube after 7 and 9, that song kicked ass
I KNOW! That was just awesome! I got the soundtrack on my MP3 and they TOTALLY cut it off. I'm so mad! It was so cool. I think that it was in the middle of "the aftermath" that the song took place. And it's GONE. How could they do this?
I think the movie was great. 79 mintues were worth it for me. they actually did a pretty good explanation, in my opinion. Besides, I watched the very end of the commentary of a rental video, and I'm not sure what the full sentence was, but I'm pretty sure I heard the words "...explained in the sequel." So even if htere isn't enough information, they're going to make a FREAKIN' SEQUEL! That is awesome. So, I'd quit complaining. The movie was awesome PERIOD.
Don't get me wrong. I love the hell outta this movie, no doubt. It just felt really rushed to me. The story/explanation is fine as is. And I liked the characters they had. I (and other critics) just wanted to see more of them and get attached to them more so when something DOES happen to them, it leaves an impact. 5 was really the only one I went "OMG NO NOT 5!" since he became so likeable and fleshed out.
Complaining and constructive criticism are two different things.
(this is shlilorenovation. I made an account. The account I used to post that comment was not my own, but a relative's) I guess you're right. Especially with 2, you only saw him for a few minutes of the movie and then boom, you know the rest. I think they could've shown a little bit more of him. I still loved this movie though, a lot. I didn't actaully mean to write "complaining." I'm sorry I wrote that.
this film was so good, too bad i didn't got the chance to see it in theaters. But i watched it 2 times already on my computer. The only bad thing is that this movie was WAY 2 short. and it needed more explenation. And it wasn't that scary actually. I just wouldn't recomanded at ages under 12
I couldn't agree with you more. The mood, the visuals, the soundtrack, and the premise were spectacular. If they didn't rush through it so much and took more time to flesh out the story and develop the characters a bit more, this movie would've taken the leap from good to GREAT.
Guess that's what happens when studios push them to have a movie finished in time for a certain opening date. (9-9-09! It's brilliant!!!) >_>
Apparently, Shane Acker thought of making a sequel. Maybe the sequel can be about stitchpunks who land on another planet, and their mission is to bring life into the planet...
Well I think Tim Burton and the team pushed it to come out by 9/9/09. But you're right, it was an excellent movie! Just needed a little bit more detail and explaination.
best anamation film ever, shame in the uk it didnt get as much publicity as up, AND THE REVIEWERS DIDNT UNDERSTAND THAT IT ISNT A KIDS FILM!!!!! i have the two 9 figures that are curently out hope they bring more of the figures out LOL
God I loved this movie. A little sad it ended the way it did.. But still, the possibilities for expanding from that point are huge. A world after the humans have been wiped out... A new form of life emerging.. If they made a game, I think it would haul ass, people would love being able to create their own number, customise what they wanted.. Okay yeah, now I'm just rambling.
8D THAT'S AN INCREDIBLE IDEA!! Bring on the game!! (Heck yeah, I wanna create my own number in a game! I already do it in my head...^^; )
also, have you checked out the web for the fan works of this? They're amazing, Truly! (yeah, I dabble in them, too.) But, check out deviantart. the imagination of the fans is fascinating!
I actually found the start of this score, until 1:10 really sad, watching the Scientist's last moments before creating 9.. maybe I was the only one who found this scene really upsetting. Beautiful music as usual anyway! :D
I loved the movie... very dark... n' stuff.... I would've liked it better if it was longer though.... but i dont know how that would work out.... does anyone know if the dolls can procreate?
I loved the movie. I now call it my favorite movie ever :]
I think they need to stop stamping Tim Burton on everything "9" related. I guess it is for advertisement, Shane Acker is so new and nobody knows a lot about him, but since Tim Burton was involved, more people are going to see it.
If this was Shane Acker's very first movie, I'm super excited to see his future movies!
well actually he is the producer. and without a producer the movie cant be done.. The producer sort out everything you can imagine, and rewrite and modify everything he/she thinks it shall be so praticly producers own the film
Directors make the ararngement on set line wich makes the melody and photgraphy work.
Lololol what if it turned out they were gonna have 9 and 7 kiss, but it got removed for time purposes? xDD
I mean, you buy the DVD and decide to watch the deleted scenes (There's probably a bunch of them, Dx) and the title of one of them is "9 and 7 kiss" and then you're all like WHAT? So you watch it and it's only like 5 seconds of the movie.

I know what you mean. The people I saw GI Joe with thought it was one of the most inspired things ever created, and that was a movie where 'plot' was merely a way to give excuses for action scenes.
"They left us nothing... Nothing. Why do we have to right their wrongs? Sometimes... one must be sacrificed..."

It was a good movie but I didn't feel that big epic feel I would of liked to feel like my friends did.
I think The Machine (that big one) was too animal like or too something...it didn't look right to me....

I know what you mean. The people I saw GI Joe with thought it was one of the most inspired things ever created, and that was a movie where 'plot' was merely a way to give excuses for action scenes.
