Good question! I'm 54, my daughter is 30 and she treats me exactly the same way Casey treated her mom. She "punishes" me by not letting me see my (blind) grandson for months at a time, then left him with me all summer with only a cell phone number to reach her with. Why do we put up with it?  My husband and I are hostages to love, that's why. If we didn['t love our grandchild so, she would have nothing on us and we wouldn't care what she does!
