@mfrqnyahoo we are both right lolol, it was filmed in both areas mostly in Italy but also some in BC. I was suprized to read that. I'm 29 now but I remember when I was a kid, It was a big things and all over the news. I know that the mushrooms the bear eats only grow in rain forests and are usaly found on mild climates like BC. For all you people who think it snows in Canada PFFT, we haven't even had snow this year and it's Jan 3rd lol

It is a perfect example of life and how unfair it can be at times.

The people leaving negative comments are a perfect example of whats wrong with todays society.

Just the fact that they managed to film this and make the animals do what they asked them to do (well sort of) reflects the genius of this film.

Some cub sounds may have been dubbed at times.

@Muffintop2k7 It is actually all staged with performing animals.  Look up Bart the Bear and the Suesses. It was a very well done film. It's very beautiful work, but by no means a completely true representation of wild grizzly behavior.

It is beautifully done but not real. The scenes have been staged.

The opening credits say "Screen Play by..." which means someone wrote the story before filming it, and it is based on a book, ("based on 'The Grizzly King' by ...").

@Muffintop2k7 I saw the movie when it came out on TV in Germany. They used tamed (trained) bears for the movie and edited the rest. They said they had to have many "sandwiches" ready to coax the bears LOL!
