Thanks for uploading one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard to this day - both musically and lyrics wise. It gives such a deep and long lasting feeling and I am so glad to see it performed live
I was raised with the doors, stones, pink floyd and later nirvana, tool and so on.. I just recently really found Led Zeppelin, even though I had heard of them.. Dont worry, my parents have been told off and they now know have much they have failed :)
i love how near the end, the audience started applauding but then jimmy, jpj, and plant were just like "SHUT UP! WE STILL HAVE AN AMAZING IMPROVISED OUTRO SEQUENCE!"
I was at the third Earl's Court show. It saddens me deeply to know I can never be that happy again. It was the happiest I ever was. Better than sex, man. I was in Heaven. Led Zep was the ultimate rock group. Never to be repeated. The stars only aligned perfectly for those ten years 1969 to 1979. "Ten years gone........................"
@ZzZThinkSkaterZzZ Yeah man: it was great: Saw Led Zeppelin in 1975 with 80,000 others @ Pontiac Michigan: was the same year I saw The Who, The Stones & Pink Floyd: I'm SO glad I lived in the 70's: Thank You God for my many blessings :)
@jeffromc1966 I was also born or grew up in the late 60's & 70's - kids don't know how great the bands were back then, Zep, Floyd, Who, Rolling Stones and more. The best music I'm starting to learn mando right now, these songs (Going to California being another great song). How great was to wait for the albums to come out! Masterpieces for the most part. Peace out
@KyleB1988...these are the other 'live" concert footage songs that were not included in the Song Remains The Same dvd. You can purchase it at Amazon titled "Led Zeppelin."
I always love those times when I get in the mood to listen and watch some of the incredible Led Zeppelin songs and live clips that have made such a huge mark on my life (and no doubt alot of you guys as well). I wasn't born until the year after the band ended... But at age 14 I got a vhs of "The song remains the same" movie and it changed everything for me. I was hooked... To me, they set a standard for the modern "Rock Band". I mean, just seeing the way Page & Plant smile at each other..
To all you responders, check out the movie "This might get loud" with Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. This is a nice little documentary on these 3 guys from different generations. What stands out though is the footage of Page explaining his creative history and process leading up to Led Zepplin. Priceless footage! Look for the Hero worship scene when Jimmy picks up his axe and rips out Whole Lotta Love. Jack and The Edge are hypnotised
i am from nepal...most of u here might not have eve heard about my country...but i follow led zepplin ...BIG TIME....i cudn find anythin so pure n so divine......music has no boundaries ...no race.......its only music that has bound us all together in this filthy world....and yeah i LOVE led zepplin...:)
@esamo31 if you are 16 years old, you weren't born when they played this concert. This was Earl's Court 1975!! I'll do the math for you, that's 36 years ago.
man, even a bad concert from these guys is better than a good concert from some death metal band from now haha, i cant wait till rock n roll comes back again
Getting old sucks but at one good thing is I can say I was there when Zepplin was born and I saw it. I think a testament to this great music is how new generations are embracing it. It's cool to see a teenage kid wearing a Led Zepplin T-shirt and know so much about the band. The new music ain't got no soul........
@camaxtedsparkluck Hey, I'm a teenage kid and Led Zeppelin is my favorite band! I like to hear from older people who listened to and were lucky enough to see the GODS in person during that great time. I was lucky my parents brought me up on great music and I appreciate the older stuff much more. Music today is alright but its more about image than the Music which is really unfortunate, but all I know is that Led has the purest Soul!
i'm a little bit envious ya know, i envy people who have witnessed this really really good music, called 80's. but u wonder how many young people still adore the 80's. i don't know many but there are a lot. 80's music never DIES!!!
@camaxtedsparkluck :) i envy you so much, i was born in 90' and i hate it. it makes me physically sick to see the garbage that we have to deal with especially with the molestation of the music industry i would give anything to have been born long ago when i could have lived through a period of beautiful music. you should be happier each day you age i would trade places with you in a heartbeat. God bless you, you are a faint glimmer of what used to be and it gives some of us a little hope :)
@36LizardKing63 Yes, but you are lucky that you are living in a time where all the music is within reach, so much here on Youtube. Look how much beautiful music you have at the click of a mouse.
@camaxtedsparkluck thats great. I'm from 85 and feel like my generations was the last "decent" one. I had a childish without internet or cable TV. Had my teen years without a cel phone. Got to college and Facebook was created, and now use a smartphone for work. Feel like everything set in, except I don't relate to anything artists nowadays are "saying", or putting out there. Everything sucks. Zeppelin changed my life.
@camaxtedsparkluck There are some awesome new band too. They're just not mainstrean anymore, you have to look for them. Tv and radio won't play their stuff.
When the footage switches quality at :20 , it gives me chills. I prefer the studio version, I think the layered guitars give the song an ominous dynamic, but this is the purest form of music you can find.
Yes, there is. Double dvd, 5h20min pure Led Zeppelin's awesome performances. But have no name, just "Led Zeppelin" on top, blue sky and a mountain on the desert. Easy to find.
One dude that I knew said that none of Led Zep had any talent, what a lifeless liver that fucking ZOMBIE is, I tried to teach him to feel and be more than a punk prick, but he crossed me off his list of friends...what a loser you are, Thomas White, sucks to be you, fag.
oh the stories i could tell of what me and my friends used to do while listening to this whole album in the late 80,s!!! i knew back then this was timeless and beautiful music and will remain so always!! i love the fact that i see younger people on here recognizing that now to!! and thats the mark of great music that will never get old, go out of style or die!!! peope a 100 years from now will be listening to this and feel the same way we do today!! a hauntingly beautiful song!! PEACE!!!
Robert sings like nobody. Jimmy is the master of the guitars. John can play the piano, the mandolin and the bass whith his feet at the same time and Bonzo...Bonzo can be listened beating the drums in a stormy day from Heaven.
