Outdated or not, the PS3 /and/ XBOX360 can easily acheive what you see here without any problems whatsoever (no, I don't own one, in fact I only own a v high end PC - but I am a commercial programmer working in the games industry and know of what I speak!). Don't forget, what you are seeing here is actually only less than 4fps which is then speeded up by the poster.

The game was capturing every single frame (30 a second) to a .jpg in a folder. Later, after he was done recording, he used some software to combine every one of those .jpgs into a video file.

what? if that was true then there would be almost 4000 picture files. its just a screen capturing program like fraps. its not that technical, it just makes a video file.

Yes, there ends up being many, many image files when you're done. It's clearly not recorded in real-time because at certain points the game says it's running at 4 FPS, while the video runs at a constant 30 FPS. I know because I've done exactly the same thing before (and yes, I ended up with many thousands of .jpgs in the recording folder).

you enter the commands in the beginning of the vid that he showed, and that takes a frame by frame video (a crap lot of pictures, like 30 a second) and after that you use a program to make those thousands of pictures into a video. any pc that can run crysis could do this. it takes a good amount of time because even the best pc on earth would get about 3 fps during this mayhem, lol

not if you activate a command called phys_cpu_0, that command makes it so another core does physics while the other helps graphics, and that makes it really smooth looking (1 fps smooth) and it doesnt stutter, basically, it makes the game run in slo-mo, it doesnt really look like "lag". try it yourself if you have a pc that can run it!

raise or lower the value depending on how fast you want the video to play. Setting it to a lower value such as 0.016665 will result in the video playing in slow motion.
