@audioholicsDOTcom Sorry but those drummers you stated in your post had totally different contrasting styles and really can't be compared to Bonham.His style was unique and no one was more real than John Bonham.He was the quintessential rock/blues drummer and it should be noted that if it weren't for John Bonham,there would be NO Peart,Bruford,or Collins to speak of.Nuff' said!!

John Bonham was the only one with that big fat round sound, at this time. The grand-father of heavy drumming, the first one with amazing fast 2 triplets with one foot. Just listen to Good Time Bad Time on the first album, shit, with one foot!

John Bonham can sound like a motor of a car, I guess he is the first one to really doing it well? In 1968-69, any drummer sounded thin compare to John.
