I sure hope that he who posts videos 1 hour 13 minutes and 29 seconds long allows posting from people who actually watch such a long video and have something worth posting like psychoanalysis should know how to test and prove something scientifically by now and is completely useless in publishing anything that stands up to peer review for that very reason.
Show me the scientific, peer-reviewed, double-blind study that proves that Shakespeare (or any literature or art) is great, insightful and worthwhile. You can't. So, you must conclude it is not. You make a religion out of science. Science as the all-knowing, all-seeing God.Science is the Great Negator. Science proves nothing. For science believes nothing is true and proven. Science believes the only thing that it can have is a hypothesis that seems true after 1000s of tests.
[2] And thats it. A hypothesis. It seems true and is not proven true, for it only takes 1 single test to disprove it. Then hypothesis is dead and gone (and never was a proven truth). The only thing it believes in is disproof, as it should. And that should put it (and you) in a humble position. Not an arrogant one that acts like it knows it all, is the final arbitrator of truth, and everyone else and their contribution to our knowledge is bunk.
[4] Also, science and psychoanalysis are not diametrically opposed, either/or propositions. "The mindless materialism which left little causal room for the mental is now an anachronism so that affective mind and unconscious motivation are no longer banished from behaviouristic psychology which has appropriated psychoanalytic concepts.
[5] Including defence mechanisms, the unconscious, therapeutic alliance, attachment and the notion that early relationship templates colour how people perceive and interact with the world as adults. Other psychotherapy models (CBT, IPT and others) have incorporated psychoanalytic concepts without proper crediting, while denying the increasing empirical support for the theory and the growing evidence base for analytically oriented therapies."
[6] (Westen, D. 1998, Psychological Bulletin. 124(3): 333-371; Solms, M. & Turnbull, O. Cortex, 2007 and issues of the journal Neuropsychoanalysis, including 2008 and Todd, P.B. (2008). Mind and Matter, Volume 6, Issue 2). The journals mentioned as a sample in this posting are all professionally peer-reviewed."
Freud was never believed. Psychoanalystic theory still proved nothing. Psychoanalytic practice has already ID'd this bright new blood that will find science, test, & prove things & his name is Dr. B. F. Skinner as all psychoanalytic doctors give behavioral homework otherwise psychoanalysis would be dead already.
Without Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as ABAisSCIENCE this discussion of psychoanalysis' death would be unnecessary as it would be known by world as absolute bunk.
Flaw of psychoanalysis is fact it's many theories all collapsing & so needs new theory so "flowers bloom" but they think maybe theories should be tested.
Something should be tested so they can transmit whatever they're looking to give other cultures.
Transmit & hope for science in psychoanalysis, but they all laugh & say, "no Freud."
They know nothing proved relative to benefit though they're sure they helped someone somewhere during psychoanalysis' history of 150 yrs.
Thank you for sharing this open table.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is another story.
Cognitive Behaviorism benefits from ABA.

[3] And real scientists know and believe this and dont have such an arrogant-orientation.
B. F. Skinner, on the other hand, has been proven large false by tests done by cognitive scientists. His view of humans didn't explain humans.

SUMMATION OF THIS LONG VIDEO:
The psychology of Freud is bunk in my opinion as well as everyone in the room during this video. See my video, "#10 Dr Sidney W Bijou ABAisSCIENCE"
Freud is dismissed by them.
Psychoanalytic theory is a mushroom growing in the dark.
Psychoanalytical practice is dying in USA & Europe - YEAH ! ! !
