This is Buddy Miles singing and was the voice of this lead singing raisin. Buddy Miles, of course, was the drummer in the Band of Gypsy's with Jimi Hendrix and Billy Cox.

@SpeedingHedgehog - Yes, that was Will Vinton. He actually did a lecture at my school once about claymation and there was an exhibit featuring his work which included this, Moonwalker, and the Noid from Domino's Pizza back in the 80s.  Nice guy, by the way.
