  • why doesnt this guy got a million views... wtf? seriously...

  • anyone else think that looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the middle?

  • This is awesome. Something about it reminds me of Emalkay. Great work Malleus, you are very talented.

  • How did i get naked??!?!

  • great bass drum sound.

  • there are so many excision bass... but good tune dude!

  • this does give me a slight rememberence of datsik, but i will say this is much better, cleaner changes, cleaner riff marks, all around a damn good song mate.

  • This was posted on my birthday and I loved this song before I even knew it was released on my birthday x)

  • I use Propellerhead reason 5 too....Its sooo confusing. i need a midi!

  • are these robotic synths from your tutorials? if not could you make another ones?

  • @Da5htElement Yeah, ones called excision/datsik and the other one he did for boyinaband called transformers bass

  • @yemenohman thx :)

  • Awesome!

  • Punisher = Best fucking dub I've ever heard. Period. No, not the girl's period.

  • promoting :D

  • what program do you use!?!!!??

  • @Decadence257 Propellerhead's Reason 5

  • @MalleusDUB Fuckin tight track bro. I've been working with Reason 5 for a couple months now, any tips?

  • @PequenoPoqui The best tips I can give would be to focus on getting very clean and solid samples for drums. Secondly, learn every aspect of what Reason has to offer. Look up how each instance, whether it be a synth or effect, works and what it does. Understand mixing and master as well as the difference between the two. Also don't expect it to come overnight. Don't set extremely high expectations if you're fairly new to producing. Have patience and continue to learn as many techniques as you can

  • this guy sounds kinda like Datsik

  • You deserve way more views than you have. Amazing!

  • is the akai mpk49 recommended for making this kind of music? convenience wise mainly..

  • @cheefybeefy Really it depends on if you're a hardware or a software kinda guy. I personally have a simple M-Audio Oxygen 25 key with a few knobs and easy goto track/transpose buttons for octave and instance switching but everything else I use whatever software I'm creating in.

  • This is bloody awesome. As good as most commercial producers and artists out there! Respect dude!

  • Love the Datsik feel to this song. Pretty awesome bro, keep it up.

  • Hey posted this on dubstepplug. Its ok for you?

  • i really wanna know how to get that transforming wobble...i couldn't get it to work on the BIAB tut. i know it changes the modulation right? giving it that wavetable, type transformation.

  • So this was made on reason? This is awesome

  • This tune is super sick, if you layered a big wide smackin clap with the snare it would sound really huge

  • Sick

  • listening to this makes me want to go and get a new PC and get back on reason..... any one want to give me a loan ??

  • have you tried sending this in to ukf?

  • amazing

  • Where can I download this?

  • RAAH! you need to be more recognised! subscribing now! <3 this track

  • This is so Datsik/Excision-esc, fucking loved it!!

  • dude....so sick...i've been using reason for a couple weeks now, making some progress thx to ur excision tutorial, i was wondering if u knew a good place to get samples and sounds for reason? Preferably free but if not no problem.

  • what did you use to make the intro piano melody part?

  • I'd like to feature ya on my channel. Hit me up :)

  • this made me feel like listening to datsik again (never really been a fan except 1 or 2 tunes), i did and well... this is better.

  • @nethiros1 Thank you very much :)

  • @nethiros1 might a suggest you listen to rough rider by datsik. i think its his best track

  • awesome, very datsikish

  • Been following you a long time homie and I have to say this is your best track I've heard =], I'll definitely buy it once you put it up on beatport or wherever.

  • Hey whats up?? You got a SoundCloud page dude??

  • @J3RSurgicalAttack Sure do. Check the description :)

  • HOLY MOLY DUDE!!! WOW WEE!!! Very nice! Your pieces inspire me and give me hope! ESPECIALLY now knowing that I will NOT need to get tons more $ to purchase multiple programs to make the music I want. Your pieces are very nice! I mean it :-) PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE. QUESTION: Are you a professional? Or did you take classes? Do you sell your stuff?

  • @beefalie Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words. To answer your questions, no I'm not a professional and have never gone to school for audio engineering. Everything I've done is self taught, however I've been doing it for roughly 10 years so I've learned a lot in the time I've been producing. I do sell my stuff and as of right now a few of my tracks are having contracts drawn up but nothing's been released yet. Keep your eye out for this one though ;)

  • hey dude, this is great!!! its just orgasm with big bassssssss :O

  • Question, all of the sounds in this song, you said you did it all with Reason on Soundcloud.. Did you make all of your sounds on your own (not talking about the wobbles)?

  • @MrBorothy No I've done quite a bit of sampling.

  • @MalleusDUB Okay cool, I have another question, I don't wanna sound like I'm trying to take your ideas on how you do things haha. But what do you use to do that? Do you get the audio files and plug them into the NN-XT because with the Re-Mix there are 14 different channels, not a lot of room.

  • @MrBorothy I use audacity and record my computer's stereo output.

  • Awesome job dude!

  • not a huge fan of heavy dubstep, but this is honestly pretty fucking sick haha.

  • talk about copying calypso jeeez...make something more of your own. great wobbles and intro tune though

  • @tylertange Of all the Rottun tracks you could have picked, Calypso is not one I would consider an influence on this track. The style is similar to Datsik on this tune but because he is an influence however I didn't rip off anything of his to make it so this in fact "my own." May I suggest checking out my soundcloud to see that I have a very wide array of styles and influences. I appreciate the kind words btw, but I push for originality and to be compared to a tune like Calypso is degrading.

  • @MalleusDUB alright ill check out your sound cloud. atleast you know how to take criticism good lol. im about to buy reason and make some stuff of my own soon, FL is not cutting it. your videos were helpful.

  • @tylertange I started with FL and used it for 8 years off and on...once I got Reason, things didn't seem so confusing. Now I can use both to their fullest capacity. Reason is so much more user friendly than FL in my opinion so hopefully you enjoy using it as much as I did.

  • @tylertange in now way is this the same as that song ahah

  • reminds me of ajapai :D

  • how do you make the sound thats not the transforming wobble, a tutorial would be awesome

  • very dry dubstep, love it

  • your so sick straight up some of the better dubstep ive heard in my life

  • Perfect Dubstep, it sounds somehow robotic and simple, and at the same time very fidgety and random loads of details. keep it up!

    p.s.

where do you find good robotic or machinery samples?

all of the ones i found sound cheap and generic.

  • @VSTTutorials Thanks! Watch sci-fi movies and sample them yourself :)

  • I love the intro, with the background FX. & Damn, man. I don't know if you are currently in the business, but... damn. I like the accented bass.

  • It's a shame you haven't got more views man. you should be at least as big as skrillex! Props to you man!

  • Been watching tuts on you for a while. you've been inspiring me to get reason im really shitty with fl studio just type in aceofdubs epic dubstep and youll find me.your dubstep is the kind i like robotic sounds like excision.if you comment and tell me how im doing making dubstep it would make my day.

  • OH MY GOD, AN EARTHQUAKE... oh wait... it's just the drop

  • you're too good.

  • se olle conmadre wey siguele hechando ganas we pronto te veremos en los conciertros con los grandes...

  • Should've disabled 720P for safety reasons.

  • @Nunchuckemo1 It's not exactly 100% ready for releasing yet. Thanks for the concern though :)

  • @MalleusDUB I MEANT LIKE CUZ IT P0WNZ TOO HARD.

  • @Nunchuckemo1 Hahaha gotcha!

  • @MalleusDUB the noises I want. I have these melodys/patterns in my head, I know what I want the end result to sound like, I just really REALLY need some help with a tutorial on how to make your synth make the specific noises you want it to do, for dubstep or any other techno type music. If you had the time, (OR could even post some links you've used or found on dubstep automation for reason it would be a great help

    thanks:)

and keep up the good work with your tracks

  • @MalleusDUB this track is FUCKING AWESOME! I was just wondering as well as every other reason noob out there, if you could post a tutorial on the step by step process you would use to automate knobs for a quick maybe 20 - 30 second dubstep "riff" (if you can call it that) say for example something similar (since I know you wouldnt give your own personal tricks away lol) to the chorus of your song "punisher" I have an extremely hard time making the automation knobs make the synth on my track do

  • snare drum is very weak, but awesome song!!

  • Sick one!

  • I don't know if you have the time, or if you'll read this, but could I ask you for some help with mixing and mastering, with drums especially. I'm trying to get my drums to hit really fucking hard like what you have going on here, but it always kind of fucks up the rest of the mix. Some general tips would also help. I'm using Reason as well, I'm just not as good at you. :P

    Thank you, sir.

  • @PugOfDoom Well I personally use an extensive drum setup. I have a pre-mixer EQ, Stereo Imager, Reverb, Envelope Filter, and Maximizer for each drum kit piece. Then I run each kit piece to a separate mixer channel and have a post-mixer Compressor, Envelope Filter, and double EQs in the aux sends of the mixers. Then my mastering suite has a bit of Compression, EQ boost, Maximization, and Stereo Imaging. This gives you full control over the drums and pumps them to their peak without clipping. :)

  • @MalleusDUB Would you mind doing a little overview/tutorial on the specifics? I get what you're doing with all the parts there, but it's the little details that would stick with me well. :P

Like, I'm not very good on the technical side of things. I just kind of go by visual and audio without know how things REALLY affect other things. (I think I'm decent with mixing, and to be honest, I think I'm quite good. You on the other hand, are great, and I want to learn the science behind your sound)

  • @MalleusDUB Im looking to get some of those of SFX samples from you. My ratings will go up preety quick if i get em.

  • @MalleusDUB woah. that just sounds complicated as shit.

  • @AceTheIntrovertMusic It is...my default setup template has more instances in it than some people's whole tune :)

  • @MalleusDUB man! hardcore dedicated reason users like you scare the shit out of me. i get intimdated by how good people like you and lucky date are with the program.

  • @AceTheIntrovertMusic All it takes is hard work, patience, and dedication to learning production. Once you understand production, the software and hardware are more of a toy that you get to play with to get the coolest sounding stuff you can think of. It's comparable to learning how to play guitar. It takes a while to learn how but once you know how you get to mess around with all the cool sounds, effects, and techniques available.

  • @PugOfDoom don't doubt yourself like that. one day u will be just as good if not better.

  • Awesome track! Love your Lady Gaga/Skrillex analogy. :)

How long would you say it took you to make this track?

  • @Xaenima1 Thank you :) This track took about 2 weeks.

  • The bass from 25 - 26 seconds very first bass of the song, how did you automate the lfo for it to create that riser effect?

  • @WalkAwayVietnam I've automated a lot of knobs to get that sound. Pitch, cutoff freq, EQ etc. The best way to make sick basses is to experiment with all of the knobs in your processes to find out which ones make the biggest difference.

  • How do you put in samples of talking from movies, if you know what I mean :p

  • @OnCatchingFire You sample them :) I use Audacity and record from my sound card's stereo mix.

  • @MalleusDUB How much is a sound card? Idk what any of that is sooo, I just have a line from Mr. Nobody that would be perfect for a song. Could you perhaps message me the way to do it step by step? Or better yet, do a tutorial on it...I bet a lot of poeple would love it(:

  • Dude thats the coolest intro i`ve heard in a while...but the drop is...FANTASTIC! :D

    keep it up man ;)

  • Genius!

  • Malleus, do you rewire rreason to any other software?? :D

  • @Awesomeguy11WTF No this is all done in Reason

  • @MalleusDUB Nice :)

  • amazing!!

  • you should send this in to a label!

  • where'd you get the graphic?

sick song btw, i favorited it

  • This song is so amazing dude.

    leme get a 320 :D

  • massive track.keep it going!

  • dude this is so good, would you be willing to make another tutorial to show us how you got some of these sounds?

  • @illtellyouasecret Thank you :) I however don't do tutorials on how to make sounds I personally use in my tracks. But just know that most of my synths start from that Excision/Datsik tutorial I put up. That's the basis of a lot of my sound. I just process them more. I can't hold everyone's hand. Time for my little birdies to fly!! haha

  • Damn tight ;)

  • This track is so sick mate,

    Oh my dayz!

  • snare should be fatter! but every other thing is sick as hell

  • nice one!!

  • Sick ass hell mate keep it up, big ups from a fellow producer!

  • I was stoked when I saw this on my sub list. Dank track man

  • FUCK YEAH MAN! Big ups. Saw your other track on DUBLOADS. NIce

  • This is awsome.

  • I thought there was going to be a random sample.. you told me on soundsound cloud??? : ( BTW its was baddass!!!!!!

  • @Awesomeguy11WTF Haha I changed my mind! :)

  • now that you said its similar to "your Datsik" patch i can hear it, thanks ill give it a try.

  • my subwoofer is BOOOOOOOOOOMIN!

  • 0:29 how the hell did you made optimus prime to transform?? is this thor ?

  • @tonno44 Thats actually a resampled Malstrom patch similar to the "Excision/Datsik tutorial" I put up a while ago. If you create that combinator, turn off the LFO modulation on the Malstrom, and resample it in an NN19 you can use the LFO rate and frequency on the NN19 add some scream overdrive to get something similar :)

  • @MalleusDUB hey Malleus is the drill sound you use at 2:34 a sample or a synth...just curous

  • @BlindShotFilms Thats the same sound tonno44 asked about but I changed the LFO rate...so its a synth :)

  • @MalleusDUB wait...trick question...its a sample of a synth I made :D

  • Fuck, Yes. Nasty bro

  • Been waiting for this for a while now.

    Fuckin' diggin' it.

  • NIIIIIIICEEE WUBWUBWUB
