  • WHERE DID YOU GET THIS THINK?

  • that's more accurate than i expected

  • I WANT YOUR JOB

  • Is the barrel overheating at the end of the video? I saw some steam.

  • Just because the MG-42 had a higher rate of fire doesn't mean it was a better gun than this one. When you factor in the time it took to change the barrel on an MG-42 the difference in the rate of fire is reduced. I know; that's no consolation to the guys who landed at Omaha Beach,

  • @isuckaman did the 1919 have a changeable barrel?

  • @isuckaman The barrel change of an MG42 takes about 4-5 seconds...Really! Look it up, you'll find it on youtube!

  • i'd hate to be a Japanese soldier facing one of these.........

  • @Lwis2 I'd hate to be anyone facing a gun..

  • I Love this gun!!!

  • very nice set up and gun enjoyed the video very nice to see absolute proper control

    i salute you

  • Im like this sound!!

  • thats a 30. cal right?

  • great video really enjoyed it

  • get all your machine guns out and you are ready for zombie apocalypse!

  • Dear Santa...

  • If you make another video like this you should use tracers at long range

  • What the hell do you do for a living to be able to afford these weapons?

  • i love that sound

  • So only in certain states you can own these weapons right? I live in CA and I am 100% sure our shitty gun laws wouldnt alow any automatics.

  • That's one way to cook a barrel!

  • fast and steady. my type.

  • why u cant invade america

  • Jeah ... I love this sound

  • Heres a question which is better mg 42 or this one?

  • @OLO992 i think generally MG42 is much better. higher ROF, reliability, and much cheaper (as i recall)

  • @OLO992 The MG42 was far superior. The german's mg put down 1.5 - 2 shots for every 1 shot this slow-as-hell gun fired.

  • @sjlykowski

Slow is better. Many people think HOLY SHIT MG42 IS BEST, IT HAS SUPER HIGH ROF.

That's not a good thing. More reloading, more overheating, more ammo to carry, more barrel switching times.

    The 1919 was great.

  • @sjlykowski This slow-as-hell gun helped WIN the war :)

  • I was watching sons of guns and they cut up the barrel annd painted a original 1919 i cried the whole time

  • Deadly simple

  • @C2builder ive been watching some of your other videos and im curious if i get all of the official paper work and stuff because im a u.s. citizen how much money would it cost to get a vickers machine gun off of you? thanks

  • @tk42295 A transferable Vickers machine gun is priced at around $25,000. The tripod mount, ammo belt and can is another $1,000.

  • @C2builder your set for a zombie uprising

    arnt you?

    :)

  • I love you.

  • Browning sounds moore like a gun then MG42 :D But i personally Like Both :)

  • In the long run the MG42 design was better. It was the base for the still used MG3 and heavily inspired the very successful FN-MAG. The M1919 couldn't be properly used a light machine gun, changing barrels is a cumbersome.

However - MG42 design is from the 30s, whereas the M1919 was designed during WWI.

During my regular military service in the 90s(!) my unit still used M1919s. Sadly the weapons were badly maintained, very sensitive to sand and couldn't fire more than 10 rounds in a row.

  • I so love the sound of this beast.

  • bull shit marcusos browning was one the best weapon designers of his time. the BAR, 1919, 1911(browning designed. colt manufactured) and it has an American flag on it. unlike that dam nazi gun. the 1919 is still in service today. can u say that about ur mg42. btw im in the army and i have used plenty of these and their vairiants. including the m2. i have never seen one jam. i wish i could say that about the 249 (piece of SHIT!) made by FN. most of the time they make good stuff. Fuck Europe!!!!

  • Every time I see one of these I always wonder why John Browning chose closed bolt for his design. Don't get me wrong, it worked out magnificently (except for the rounds that cooked off in the chamber occasionally), but I would've thought he would've gone for the open bolt like so many other designers did.

  • @Thatevilmidget close bolt guarantees the round will fire many modern open bolt guns like the saw dont work very well. the 240b works good and stays cool. in my opinion the best way to go is the LWRC M6A4 IAR fires close bolt semi and open bolt full auto. automatically changes over. whats better cooking off rounds, or pulling the trigger and nuthing happens? especially when they are pointing somthing at you too?

  • okay, after watching all of your videos, i know exactly where to go if there is a zombie apocalypse. your house.

  • very nice I just got a Ramo 1919a4 :-)

  • at 0:01 is there a cannon firing?

  • Can I come to your house when and if we ever get invaded lol?? And what do you do for a living to be able to buy all these, you must have a small fortune worth of guns.

  • beastiest gun ever

  • scary to think that not so long ago this weapon was shot into people. damn

  • @beethz Bigger weapons and bigger bullets are currently being shot into people as we speak.

  • @aceofspades66 ya but you have to appreciate the people that made it all possible. thanks browning

  • reminds me of band of brothers

  • Thank you for posting these POV machine gun videos. Gives a better prespective on the gunners view of how machine guns operate.

  • Its Spitting out shells like a foscet spits out water!

  • Sexy sound!

  • you sir just earned a diploma from the zombie defense community and technical college

  • I heard these things arn't too accurate.....could be wrong though.

  • This guy deserves the bragging rights to "HAVING TO MUCH FUN". Awesome videos which would never have been possible to see what beautiful work was put into these machineguns.

  • Ok, what all changes would need to be done in order to convert it to semi auto?

  • @jonijenny1 I only build full-auto, so you would need to ask that question elsewhere. All I know is that you have to use a thicker right-hand side plate and modify the bolt and trigger. Good luck.

  • @C2builder you build your own? that's cool. Not to be nossy, but about how much can you build then for. Thanks

  • @MrBobsrevenge Really can't say because it depends on if it's going to be built as a Post Sales Sample or built on a transferable side plate. The prices vary, but just to give you an idea a transferable 1919A4 is around $12,000US.

  • @C2builder wow thanks never realized it would be that much. haha.

  • @C2builder I've allways been curious at how the trigger mechanism works on this machine-gun. Could you explain it to me?

  • @C2builder The semi-autos use a right-hand sideplate with an "island" on the inside to prevent an unmodified bolt, barrel extension or lockframe from being inserted. The bolt's fitted with a new (wider) sear to prevent fitting a full-auto sear in it, and the lower right-hand side is trimmed to clear the island. Barrel extension's trimmed in the same mannern and a semi-auto trigger's installed in the lockframe which has had the right "horn" trimmed to clear the island.

  • @C2builder do you have a "how to" manual on doing this yourself?

  • @jonijenny1 Buy the one you want. No converting from full to semi, so says ATF.

  • Is it true the only difference between a semi and full auto 1919 is the sear?

  • @jonijenny1 Not true, there are several changes that need to be made for the 1919A4 to be converted to semi-auto.

  • which was tactically better and why...the MG42 by Germany or the Browning .30 cal by USA? Just curious

  • @gmccord1970 I feel the MG42 is more versital and can be used easily by just the gunner, it's also lighter.

  • @C2builder i dont have much place commenting but id say, in the heat of battle, the .30 would be more practicle due to its lower rate of fire. it seems that it would be more accurate, ammo wouldn't be such a burden and come on, the 1919 is just plain sexy :)

  • @C2builder it also takes less time to reload

  • @gmccord1970 MG42 had twice the rate of fire and hand swappable barrels. MG42 was 5 lbs. lighter for the gun, and over 30 lbs lighter as typically fielded (A2, A4) with the bi-pod instead of the 1919's tripod. The Germans understood tactics of machine gun warfare better than anyone to great affect in WWI and WWII. No disrespect to John Browning, but the MG42 is a work of art.

  • how u hold a gun like that in combat??

  • @XeNo11000 They are made for use on the tripod only. The M1919A6 uses a bipod and shoulder stock but is still too heavy.

  • great vid! :)

  • coool =D

  • why dont we still use these?

  • @bigtigers4life The M240 and M249 are better and lighter to transport and carry.

  • Woo thank god for the sencond amendment.

  • Hello,

Do you know anything about de-milling a 1919 parts kit so it shoots semi-auto?

  • @jonijenny1 No demilling, you have to build the gun up from a parts kit into semi configuration and using semi-auto parts.

  • Is this one in .30 cal or .50 cal? We used these in every fighter and bomber in ww2, firing .303 British and also .50 cal later in the war. Amazingly reliable and robust mg that probably was a major contributor to winning the air war over Britain in 1940. Later model Spitfires had 4 of these in each wing - 8 guns converging fire at 100 yards - devastating!

  • @howardmaryon

Yeah its a .30 cal. 50 cals have a way wider body and not many cooling holes :D

  • i do not wanna c one of those mother fuckers pointin at me, daaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnn

  • my grandpa said that in ww2 his barrel got white hot during a massive bonzie ( or how ever you spell it) and the japs cut the barrel off his browning. I know that the Mythbusters testes it out but he said that is happened

  • @SFEplaya they proved it was true on mythbusters, but showed you can cut the barrel straight

  • @goldenbulletwolf666 both machineguns were devastating. The mg-42 only got its name from d-day because the US troops had no cover against them. If you put the brownings up on those beaches during d-day i think it wouldve done just as much damage

  • no need to spray and pray with this baby! you can take an entire platoon with this on a nice flat ground. Accuracy for this was and still is outstanding

  • @nerfrulz ROF = 550rpm.

  • I like browning machine guns. They're cool.

  • One of my favorits

  • it has a nice sound to it.

  • I love this gun, i always called it the Brownie idk why xD

  • lol its a dangerous chocolate dessert *wink*

  • back in britain we wouldnt be aloud anywhere near one of those let alone own one

  • wer do u get all of these guns? lol

  • Some I bought, some I built.

  • you built a browning 1919a4 machinegun?

  • how do you get automatic weapons? i thought their banned in all of the US

  • That's a myth, any American citizen with a clean background can own one. All it takes is a few months wait on paperwork and a lot of cash. There are a few States that do not allow full-auto but I forgot which ones.

  • Ya I live in DC and full auto are banned so thats why I was asking

  • @C2builder If Ur Canadian Can U Own 1 And How Much Are We Talking In Price (American)

  • @quentinterri, I'm not sure about Canadian laws, totally different from ours here. The cost for a registered transferable Browning 1919A4 here in the USA is around $14,000US.

  • Jesus if I was to pay that I'd take the mg42

  • @quentinterri, a transferable Mg42 will cost you about $35K here in the USA.

  • Ok I'd still pay 4 that :P

  • @C2builder :O:O:O 35 000??? omg...how much did browning cost?

  • I've seen one for 3,932 recently

  • You sure full-auto. That prices sounds like a semi-auto. Most of the price of full auto guns is taxes.

  • The tax on all full auto weapons is $200. The cost of the weapon is the fact that so few of them are available for transfer and even less are up for sale.

  • @C2builder Gun show up here in Canada, they were selling a fully functional Browning .50 Caliber Machince for $5000.

  • @quentinterri You cannot own one of these in canada, Anything that is fully automatic is what they call a restricted firearm, Which means you need a specail license. Hell..In canada you can't even put a 30 round mag onto an SKS, Were limited to 5 rounds, and semi-auto only. No fully automatic guns here folks :(

  • a survey of allied troops after WW2 found that the sound of machine gun fire was more scarey than that of mortar fire and direct fire from small arms, but from experence i find mortars far more scarey from spending 7 months in helmand

  • but a slower rate of fire is better. lower ammo consumption, better aiming (easier).

  • your 100% right but you have to admit the sound of a mg42 would be more scary. at least it would for me lol.

  • thats looks like soo much fun!

  • what speed is lost compared to mg42 the browning makes up with a bigger and more powerful bullet.

  • I'd take an MG42 over this anyday.

Not to mention, this is a .308.

    Not the 30-06 round....

  • If there is 1000+ Rounds of lead coming at you a minute I wouldnt really care if it was a bigger bullet or a smaller bullet. The rate of fire Overmatches the size of the bullet anyday.

  • when my grandfather was in the war he told me stories of how this gun was his position and he owned Nazi ass

  • I bet, its an awesome gun

  • but very slowly compared with the MG 42

  • I collect and shoot firearms. I am the proud owner of a BMG 1919A4. In the next year or two will purchase a MG34 which is also a relic. Depending on which model of 1919, cycle rates very form 550 to 1200 RPM. Cycle rate for MG 34 850 rpm. MG 34 was more portable and at times refered to as Hilters zipper

  • thats bad ass, my grand father was a medic in the battle of the bulge. saw some nasty stuff.

  • Nice!

  • @PsycoPeepz haha i know a ww2 vet who only used this gun in ww2, his arms are fuckin ripped

  • sounds pretty cool, definately like the design. Excellent American Ingenuity!

  • the mg42 is way better than the browning machingun

  • browning better barell+ better accuracy

  • True but .30CALS dint overheated as much. And it was much simpler to manufacture and maintain. This is also very important. German war machines where good. But they where not fit for WW2.

Take the Tiger tank and the Panther tank. Great machines yes, excellent firepower and armor. But 1500 tigers and 4500 Pänthers vs 50000 shermans and 60000+ T-34's wich are stronger then Shermans.

  • Well the Germans had other Tanks like Pz-2, -3, and -4 plus various Marders, Jagdpanzers, and StuG's. I don't think it is fair comparing Heavy Tank production to Medium Tank production, the last were always easier to produce in larger numbers.

  • Dude, the 42 is like the best machine gun design ever made!

  • @marcusos1111 not at all, the mg42 fires faster then the Browning but the browning fires a bigger round, so it matters what you want, more power or faster shooting

  • if you consider "better" having a uselessly height rate of fire, and having to swap out barrels every minute, lol. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

  • @marcusos1111 your getting that from video games. The mg42 only shot faster which made it inaccurate and destroyed barrels from the heat. The browning shot slower but still at a good ROF to hold down positions and you could control it easier with the slower shot and it being a few pounds heavier. other then that the rounds shot were basically the same.

  • @baconator490 Right on, also didn't need a pack mule to carry ammo for the thing.

  • @marcusos1111

I'll agree with you on that, but the M1919 was all the Allies had back then. At least, until they killed some poor German gunner and took his gun.

  • @marcusos1111 it might have been a bit better but the browning will still take limbs off of u

  • @marcusos1111 so you would rather be hit by this than an mg42?

  • @CanadianFisherman1 yeah take your choice of getting one or two 30 cal slugs or riddled with ten 7mm bullets...

  • @peterjussi

    The MG42 doesn't shoot 7mm...it shoots 8mm mausers

  • The perfect machine gun.

  • Eh, not quite. It was a typical machinegun firing at an average rate of fire and a regular sized cartridge, but it didn't boast the convenience and portability of the MG34 and 42, nor did it have the stopping power of its bigger brother, the M2 .50 cal.

  • most beautiful sound ever

  • I would'nt want to be on the other side

  • i like ITz

  • awesome browning is SICK

  • nice sound

  • Thats one sick sound... i love it :D

  • Love that sound.

  • this is amazing, this weapon has a low rate of fire so it has nearly no recoil

  • sure no recoil, but look at it, it's dancing all around

  • well its a happy dance :D knowing it was once owning nazi ass

  • x1090849309...

I'd pay the cost of ammo +$20 to throw a belt through that thing. I'm a local too :D.

  • We hold a public MG Shoot every year in March at the Orange Gun Club. I will post a date and time here as the event gets closer. Plenty of MG's for everyone's taste, and you get to shoot them as well.

  • well, the mg42 has an extremely HIGH rate of fire, and almost NO recoil at all! not that im sayin the mg42 is superior, i love the brownie :D

  • shot one of those last summer amazing gun the sound of it is too man a love that gun

  • Beautiful weapon.

  • true that CoolVids567. very well constructed.

  • this uses the 30 06 cal?

  • .30-06 is the original caliber this gun was made for. The 1919A4 did not start using .308 until NATO was born in 1951. The .30-06 was slowly phased out when the M60 replaced the 1919.

  • Well comparatively it's one of the noisiest guns right?

  • I can't imagine being shot at with that thing.

  • It could be seen that as the number of rounds decreases at the end and makes the ammo lighter the rate of fire increases

  • That's true for most any belt fed gun. The metal links versus a cloth belt will also increase rate-of-fire.

  • nice double tap lol jk

  • yeahhh =)

  • pwned man,thats sweet

  • nice gun!

  • that thing is badass

  • nice video :)

  • man that hting kicks ass! pretty scary when you imagine hundreds of these things in service back in WWII..bet the banzais thought twice before rushing a good ol' Marine MG Team! by hte way nice quality..very good for getting a classic like htis..too bad about the camera angle but it's still a great view and you didnt go rambo but you didnt go barbie style..in good, clean bursts(a little long but otherwise effective)!

  • Thanks for the comment and complement. I always try to post a video of what folks like to see. You're right, a Japanese soldier would surely have to believe in "the here after" to charge any belt-fed gun.

  • nice to see theres someone who uploads in a proper quality :)
