First of all, to get growlithe, you need to insert fire red, then go to the version of your game, (Platinum, Diamond, Pearl) then there's a button on the menu that says migrate pokemon, press that then pick the pokemon you want to migrate, once that is done, you go to Sandgem town and down to the beach and keep going to the right to Pal Park, Then enter the Catching Show. (Note: you need 6 pokemon from your fire red to enter the Catching Show.) and catch the pokemon you migrated.

It has to be Fire Red. You can find Vulpix instead of Growlithe, if you put in Leaf Green.

u need to finish the sinnoh pokedex in order to get a national dex, which unlocks pal park, pal park is a place were u can catch previously uploaded pokemon from your gameboy advanced games.
