this must have been an unforgettable moment surely ! racing with 2 MG EMUs ; with the lovely ALCO horn serving as a background ; sad this sight can never be seen again
when i was in chennai, there were 2 MG tracks and 2 BG tracks b/n tambaram and Egmore. But from TBM and CGL there were 2 MG lines and one BG line. Later one MG converted to BG in 2004. parallel MG b/n TBM-MS also converted to BG. But these MG EMU were really faster and Quick than BG EMUs. we missed them. what u say vb642?
@athreyaak I agree. Miss the MG EMUs and the cute YAM1 loco as well! MS-TM-CGL-VM was my all-time favorite MG section in India. And now, that's gone. Feel extremely sad. I actually curse Jaffier Sharief a lot, since he is the one who initiated the unigauge project.

Excellent Video. Brings back the old mmories. So Nellai got a WDM2 all the way in 1999...

Thanks. At that time, the Villupuram-Tambaram BG track was not electrified, hence, the WDM2.
