  • Hi Rico. I have a couple of questions:

    1: When you are doing the lower back work out, do you add weights to your second and third set?

    2: Do you have an advanced workout for the back in your book? since this video says beginner on it.

  • no i just do more reps. This is good for anyone. Its the intensity and weights you use that separates the men from the boys

  • wide grip weighted pull ups for lats and forget lat pull down.

  • Hey Ricco, every time I do a set of lat pulldown i always find that my biceps get more of a workout than my back. Are there any other exercises that I can do to work my lats that don't involve the pull down motion?

  • back is mostly a pull exercise. focus on your back pulling the weight and your arms are bars, just holding the weight

  • Well I feel dumb about the delts/shoulder thing. The trainer at the gym I workout at is kind of a moron. That is why I watch your stuff...on acount of you're not a moron like the trainer lol

    swim for 2 hrs

    drink protein shakes after swimming and head off to the nearby gym

  • Because you can't possibly train all of your body parts with enough intesity to spurt growth in ONE DAY! You have to break it down. Yes I talk about abs a lot!

When u do ur low back exercise(hyper extension), you said, Don't pull your muscles out. Why is it? I've been pulling back muscles out b/c it gave me intenser feeling on my back. Please reply back.   • I said not to over extend when you push back and contract. Just go to where your body is straight at the end not any more. You might pull your back out.

  • im new to working out, ive yet to join a gym or anything but i happen to have a barbells and dumbbells at home...how effective are bent over dumbbell rows and bent over barbell rows in building up your lower back?

  • they don't build up your lower back. They focus on your mid back

  • I have been lifting for years, and I can't tell you how many meatheads I see using horrible form so they can stack on too much weight. They are also the ones who are always hurt somewhere. The dude in this video is the only one I've seen on utube that has perfect form. I doubt he gets hurt much. With correct form, your gains can be huge. Great vid man!

  • For the Shrug workout, can i just use a Bar with weight on it, then hold it with my hands and just shrug?? Will i have to do anything differently?

  • hey i train my back for 2 hours barbell rows tbar pulldowns and pre exhaust my back with deadlifts is this considered overtraining if yes tell me a good workout please

    most of these bodybuilders that you , all these mr olympians look so old and droopy when they are middle aged & shadow of the past and look 10-15 yrs older what they actually are, and lot of health problems

  • I'm very glad you asked me this! My system of total health isn't about being a body builder (though weight training is an essential part of my program) and doing unhealthy things. It creates a body that stops the hands of time and prevents sickness and disease from happening.

    1. chest , tri

    2. back , bic

    3. legs, calves

    4. foremarms, shoulders, abs

    work out each body part ONE TIME PER WEEK

    MAJOR PARTS 4 EXERCISES, 3 SET EACH

    MINORS 3 EXERCISES , 3 SETS EACH

  • No but tomorrow I'm filming my BICEPS workout which is the workout I actually do to show my subscribers the intensity I train with. It's all about intensity and damaging the muscle fibers so they can recuperate and grow bigger. It will be on this Friday.

  • Hey some one who gets it!!!! Yes you are right. I'm as about big as I can get and it's just my preference. I could be smaller....it's just personal choice. I take accusations of steroid use as a HUGE compliment to my training regimen! I have worked and shaped my body for over 25 years and learned the science of all of the components of being totally healthy. I'm trying to break into the hollywood training circuit, getting movie stars buffed up for movies. Any director's out there?? I'm here!!

  • I see soo many guys who forget to do lower back in the gym. I think its key to preventing injury, building a strong core. What do you do for reps? I find it gets too easy after a while ever with a 25lb, I'll pound out 15, drop the weight and do another 15. Do 3 sets of that. What do you do? I want to keep making my lower back stronger. Im sketchy about going too high of weight and pulling out my back.

  • thats good. I switch from the extension machine (the one you're talking about) to a machine one and put on some heavier weight. Good job.

  • I do on one of my latest videos and just answered a question on breathing. Exhale as you are midway through the contraction and exhale as you bring weight back to starting position.

  • If you use dumbells let them hang and keep your arms straight and locked. Just shrug your shoulders like your arms are bars that are attached to the dumbells.

  • Do you have a weightless routine as well. I'm interested in martial arts and wonder you can help with balance and flexibility.

  • I stretch in each workout. My stretching helps my flexibility. I stretch before, during and after my workouts.
