  • 3:20 - did anyone heard a maniacal laughter too?

  • You should have made and exception for this one and made it 20 minutes!

  • 5:40 made me cry :/

  • i went to the game store this year and the cashier was saying final fantasy 13 was the best game of the whole. telling some other guy that final fantasy 7 was shit and all made me want to argument with him but he was clearly a lost case. now only graphics seems to count.

  • this would be my favorite anyone who dint play this game cant completely talk about final fantasy. this is easily one of the top 3. master piece character/music/story/ even the gameplay was fun a lot of tricks to go around.

  • Soundtrack is complete. Not a single song is bad, all of them have a meaning. Favorite FF with FF IV

  • lost two chracters in this game, the total people are 14.

  • 2 raving lunatics didn't like this...

  • terras theme one of the best themes i've ever heard!

  • I'd be honored to be buried with this game, and FFIV. These two games made me who I am.

  • @EpicYarnEM Amen Brother. Amen.

  • 4:47 aerith song?

  • Mog!!

  • this is the greatest game ever made, and i still think it has the most epic soundtrack. ff VII is definitely on par, and I don't want to start a flame war, but terra's theme, celes's theme, dancing mad, cyan's theme, the esper theme -- so many unforgettable tracks.

  • No Decisive Battle? T_T

  • @BizarreCoverup this is where the story turns out and everyone split out and.... play the game!

  • @KoToCoNDoR I have! I still think The Decisive Battle is one of the best scores in the game.

  • why cant we have good games with amazing stories like this today? i just want to know why?

  • I wish this game would get an "after years" type sequel. I really enjoyed these characters. Several Final Fantasy games have sequels, this one is the next one i wanna see.

  • Final fantasy VI....best soundtrack....best game.....This IS final fantasy...not that shitty fanboy shit that is dissidia

  • great news final fantasy VI fans final fantasy VI is finally out on the american wii virtual console rejoyce

  • @heerogunkenobi o.0 rejoice its on the SNES

  • @Xarai well you misunderstood me what i meant to say is that the snes version of final fantasy VI a.k.a final fantasy III in america was re-released on the american wii virtual console i didnt mean that square released a wii version of final fantasy VI

  • 2 people just don't know.

  • I hate my friends.

"Hey man, wanna come over and play HALO?"

"Um, no thanks man. I was thinking of just staying home and playing my Super Nintendo or something. Maybe Final Fantasy II or III."

"HAHA LOL TURNBASED WAT A LOSER LOL I NOOBTUBE YOU ON HALO"

    "...damn you."

  • Dude, I still cry during the opera scene alittle. Today I still think of what it would be like to have Genreal Leo on my side the whole game. Nobou!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A 10 minute video on youtube doesn't come close to covering the epic scale of this soundtrack

  • ...And the bass line is delicious in that overworld tune (min 7:50 on) damn.

  • I was playing this game before you could walk.

  • Atma Weapon Music = Epic

  • no game has ever had an atmosphere quite like this one

  • Favoritest Final Fantasy game EVER for purely nostalgic reasons.

  • Some of the best music on ANY system can be found here. Uemtasu really mastered the SNES soundchip.

  • What ever you say, Final Fantasy 6 is still the best game in the series hands down. It's a shame FF7 get's more attention I mean it was okay but it was also damn long and almost repetitive. FF6 or FF4 needs a cool remake for sure. I can't even find a good orchestral version of the Opera scenes anywhere.

  • @Krkrbs419 I have an mp3 version if you're interested in it. It's from some concert in Japan I think. And also, agreed about ff7.

  • @Krkrbs419 i know someone who has a good version of the opera scene music the screen name is superphillip32 and just type superphillip32 the dream oath on the youtube search bar the orchestral version happens to be 24 minutes long so the video is split into 3 parts i hope that helps oh and i absolutly agree that final fantasy VI is still the best final fantasy game in the series there is no deny

  • Me + this game = true love

  • Final Fantasy VI INVENTED epic.

  • Whats the song at 0:45 called?

  • @zzyzx0788

    Terra's Theme

  • Dancing Mad....'nuff said

  • 0:45 When I first heard THAT start up when I entered the game world and saw the gigantic map, I knew that this was going to be one damn good game.

  • @SergeantLuke Any idea what that song is called? I love it.

  • @dunevenker It's Terra's theme.

  • nice gear

  • My favorite FF game of all time. When I die I want to be buried with this game.

  • I think this game possibly has the best music in video game history. Just try and listen to some song and not be inspired or saddened. They made an awesome job!

  • 08:50 It fucking look like Modern Times of Chaplin. Or am I crazy °°

  • The most belligerent person on the planet could pack a bowl & listen to this full soundtrack, and NEVER be the same.

  • Absolutely one of the greates game ever made PERIOD! Square, please go back to the way things were, pleeeeeaaaaaasssseee?

  • Listening to this takes me back. I miss those days when I'd stay in and play FF games all day during christmas break. I did this for FF4 all the way up to FF10!

  • Best game soundtrack ever. The game isn't perfect -- the combat is way too easy and I hate how everybody can learn every spell -- but the music more than makes up for it.

  • Every song is epic and some make me want to cry. This is by far my favorite game of all time. Unless they want to start re-selling Snes and making Snes games. Gaming will NEVER be the same. How do you mix two of the best game makers Square and Enix and not have great games or even a good sound track. Look at Final Fantasy games soundtracks then look at Illusion of Gaias soundtrack mix the two companies together and somehow come out with shitty games......

  • @TheRealRpgmstr4 also yeah WTF!?!? They were THE SHIT when they were separate companies. When they merged however, they became utter shit lol!

  • @TheRealRpgmstr4 replying to this and its been out for a while, but yes, you are by far the most intelligent RPG fans ive come across! Every song in FFVI made me want to shed a tear also, its all epic sounding music, and this is my favorite game of ALL time, and its a shame that true RPGs are no longer. Its a damn shame because the SNES - PS1 was where RPG was at, and it changed my perspective on gaming. Now we have crap games, and SE hasnt done anything like they used to... its sad.

  • @TheRealRpgmstr4 Sakaguchi gave up his producing role after FF IX, after that it all went downhill. Yoshitaka Amano stopped after FF VI, and Uematsu didn't solely compose a soundtrack after FF IX.

So after IX, none of the important guys were left really. A sad time for the series indeed.

  • @Markell1991 Indeed. Final Fantasy X, XII, and XIII are good games, but nothing like the previous nine games.

  • THIS is what the Final Fantasy movie should have been based off of, period!

  • @Juria316

    This X5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!

Ive been saying that since before there was even a script for the movie

  • This game is, in every conceivable way, a masterpiece. On par, in my opinion, with stories like Tom Sawyer, the Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. It represents a moment in time when all the elements that make a great and shining story were able to come into play. Character development, plot, emotion, villainy, music, immersion. It was all there and took advantage of the best games could offer graphically. I can safely and assuredly say this game changed my life.

  • @Avisionred1 True that.

Cant say what's the feeling i get when i hear the tune at 7:50. It's SO appropriate to the moment in the game, you know, an almost empty and devastated planet, in its dusk, i just heard it and started wondering how come a 16bit song could beat me so hard! I remember putting the game, and leave this song play while doing homework, it's too much. Same thing with the overworld tune before chaos. Such a vastness feeling.

  • 'This is sickening! You all sound like chapters from a self-help booklet!'

    Kefka = awesome :)

  • Nobuo Uematsu was at his peak here.

  • It all died after 10 =[

  • Is it just me or is Dancing Mad missing from this Compilation, one of FFVI's only named songs.

  • @fullphaser

He was on a 10 minute time restraint. Would be kind of hard to do Dancing Mad any justice.

  • When the heck is this going to come out on Virtual Console?

  • @grungefreak10 Doesn't look likely. Thank goodness I hacked my wii HAHAHAHA!

  • Why is everyone singing? If you get that reference you are awesome.

  • one sega lover hit the dislike button because he was jealous his console didn't have as great music as SNES did.

  • kefka= power hungry clown

  • at 5:05 that's the song when Aeris dies! never noticed before.

  • @midevil656 It's definately close. Nobuo Uematsu considered that song sort of the prototype to the one from 7

  • @jikonius Oyea bro, he made this song with ff7 in mind. Dont be stupid, he just liked the sound of this song, and used the same motif for Aeris's theme.

  • @midevil656

It sounds somewhat familiar but that tune's Celes. She sings it in the game too, and the game gives you an option to muff if up for her methinks.

  • @midevil656

    only the opening notes

  • Comment removed

  • @nintygaming True to that, brother.

  • @nintygaming I couldn't agree more. I got this game the year it came out not knowing much about final fantasy except that a friend of mine said it was good. This remains my favorite for sure and I will still play it from time to time.

  • @nintygaming - What do you believe the reason is that they don't "get it?"

  • @nintygaming Graphics over Greatness... interesting. I always thought that the 3D graphics of the PSX/N64 era weren't as good as the SNES.

No, what FF7 did was it brought the Anime crowd into gaming. FF7 was a far more personal story than FF6. When you get right down to it, 7 was about one man's battle with himself, and some people are really into that.

Personally, I prefer FF6, because the world is so much more developed and the big bad makes more sense (not that Kefka actually makes sense).

  • @nintygaming WTF u on about 7 came out before 6

  • @Xallisto1 Obviously it didn't! lol. 6 was "Rereleased" on ps1 after 7 came out, yeah, but it was never out before 7. It was already in Japan at the time, way before 7 came out. Plus it was originally a SNES game.

  • @nintygaming Final Fantasy 7 was the last FF game in my eyes, always has been.

  • @nintygaming I myself love all Final Fantasy games, and I love 7 not for it's graphics, but for it's storyline, it's characters, it's music, it is one of my all time fave games, but as I said, I love all Final Fantasy games. The greatest game series i've ever played are FF obviously, and Legend of Zelda! And my favourite FPS series has to be Halo! great story, it's a fictitious shooter unlike all the countless modern shooters out there lol. All I can say now is BRING BACK THE OLD DAYS!

  • @nintygaming i wouldnt say that the people who are saying FF7 is the best are prefering graphics over greatness....it much simpler...for the most people of the FF communitiy FF7 was actually the first FF they played or the first JRPG in general....due to the playstation and its achievements in mainstream pop culture

i myself think FF6 is the best RPG of all time

  • @MrMalf Im sorry.. I remember summer glued to the game watching my friend play FF1 on the NES. I like all the Final Fantasy's. If I was to pick order of favorites FF2, FF7 , FFX

  • @nintygaming

    I greatly agree!

    -H-

  • @nintygaming You do realize there were plenty of Final Fantasy games made after 7, right? So your argument of "People who prefer FF7 only care about graphics over greatness" is invalid. If FF7 fans DID only care about graphics, then there'd be a lot more people saying FF13 was a great game.

  • FF6. just pure awesomeness. a great story, an insane and godly villain, Characters you can relate to, and the soundtrack....fits exactly where it should be.

  • Also, since I know someone's gonna say it, the original FF2, FF3 and FF5 WERE released outside of Japan, after the whole naming mishap. FF2 was released with FF1+2 Dawn of Souls(GBA). FF3 was released on DS as a remake, and FF5 was bundled with FF6 in Final Fantasy Anthology(PS1)

  • Oh man the nostalgia is unbearable. All these tracks still give me chills :). Atma Weapon theme and Kefka's theme are probably my favorites.

  • How can you have an almost 10 minute video on the music of Final Fantasy 6 and NOT have Cyan's themes easily one of the most memorable tracks. :P

  • @VIkingrBerserkr it's not in here? For shame....

  • Simplemente excepcional. El repertorio musical de FFVI es simplemente el mejor del mundo de los videojuegos.

    Grande Uematsu!!!

  • God !

8:50 ... It look like so much "Charlie Chaplin - Je cherche apres Titine" !

  • Does everyone have an offering relic!?

  • The funny thing about the game is that Every single one of the 15 main characters (14 heroes+Kefka) has his/her/its own theme! And if you play the game thoroughly you end up loving each one of them!

  • 1:29 - running away from kefka on the chocobo's!

  • I dont understand why they dont make games like this anymore. Today the emphasis is on graphics and cutscenes. Gameplay, character development, and music have taken a HUGE backseat. FFX ruined the industry.

  • @ArmenianAssassin

    I disagree. FFX was great

    FFXII ruined the industry.

  • Whoooooops, meant 8:03 sorry!

  • 7:03 Nostalgic. I remember doing so much flying in this game makes me want my childhood back... Really Really badly.

    Ty for the upload garudoh

  • mother......fucking......kefka!

  • 4:03 Interceptor!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The opening scene in IV was absolutely epic for the time. The music, the pre-game credits... Amazing. I can still recall that theme easily 16 years later.

  • The best game of all time next to Chrono Trigger.

  • @ArmenianAssassin WHOA WHOA WHOA! Secret of Mana better be in that #3 spot! lol jk but seriously Secret of mana was the shit!!!

  • @dss103 yes it was

  • Is the soundtrack worth buying?

  • Do you surf youtube?..lol of course!!!..I bought it for 80.00 bucks back in the day in 1994 when it came out...I love this game/music.

  • Hm, well, regarding Final Fantasy, I have the soundtracks of 5, 7, 8, 9 and Tactics. I am interested in getting 6's and 10's.

  • @Ragitsu

Do bears actually shit in the Phantom forest?

  • @Uglimusashi

I still haven't purchased it yet, but it's only a matter of time.

  • I like today's pretty games, but I'm in desperate need of something with character development

  • ... I hate Kefka.

    So damn annoying.

Music is awesome though, as always.

  • This is the best game I can remember. 99% of games today are shit.

On that day where SNES died, the best times in gaming consoles died with it. Just GBA and GBC have some good games, but these are just remakes of the old.

Today everyone ignores the story and just play games with the best graphics.

  • @Dmhamakzz99 If you take off the rose-tinted glasses, you'll see most games back then were shit as well. Of the 1000 games on the NES, about 40 were good.

  • a men

  • 2:00 best fight music

  • I loved this game more then 7. Better music, story and gameplay for me.

  • 100% aggreed.

There is no heart in new games anymore (especially in new Final Fantasy).

  • I have deep sadness towards people who think that something isnt good unless its different and innovative. Look at what the game developers try to do now? its all crap! BAck in the days, all people cared about was if something was EPIC. And that is my theory to why old video games OWN THE SHIT and new video games are souless and failed attempts to please a demand that dont even know what they like. peace

  • old video games will always have a special place in the hearts of gamers and yes they are timeless. but todays games have built on what the originals strived for and there are new aged games that have their own epicness (gears of war for example took an idea never done before and made it legendary-same with halo). so I don't think it's fair for you to say all new games are soulless when only some of them are.

  • Buddy, no disrespect but for me Halo is garbage. I am really tired of the overabundance or shooters on the next-gens. Half-life, halo, SoCOM and MOH et. cetra. Games used to be simple to play and the levels and circumstances in the game would challenge you. Now its super complicated controls and simpler level designs. Shooter were made in the past but those games never found a fanbase-the reason? The others game were SOO much BETTER.

  • @gsmittyuniy

That is the stupidest god-damned thing I've ever heard.

  • @compactVotive

Okay then go play pacman forever.

  • @FloMonKish

Typical liberal smugness, making nothing but accusation without explaining why you think so, then ending it with peace. Let me tell you something, i believe in war with you people! peace

  • @croscream

hummm I explained lol, im not gonna write an essay, try to use your brain haha its not that hard to understand

  • @FloMonKish

No, you did not explain anything, you only make accusations: So i can't use my brain to try and understand something meaningless.

  • @FloMonKish amen. Never though of it that way...

  • @FloMonKish Amen to that..Games these days lack content, they just have plenty of shiny bells and whistles. We all can count how many EPIC games have came out this year alone with one hand, and have plenty of fingers left over.

  • @FloMonKish I would just like to point out that most old games sucked just like most new ones do.

  • @FloMonKish

God of War and Metal Gear Solid being exceptions to that rule

    Metal Gear is truly amazing

But FFVI in my mind will always be the greatest game ever created

  • @DrStrangefate agreed!

  • @FloMonKish COD for life!

  • song at 1:00 sounds like it was made by ennio morricone :)

  • I'd say you're right, he probably had a big influence on Nobuo Uematsu...listen to 4:03.

  • yes that song sounds like ennio morricone too :) lovely

  • Comment removed

  • i just realized u don't have gau's theme :'(... that theme makes me want to cry so much it's so touching

  • Best soundtrack ever.

  • 6:40 is one of the most haunting tunes ever.

  • Love this game.

  • I beat this game Fina Fantasy 3 in 71:58 minutes in 1995, I played for about a week and my sister helped me. I only stopped to eat, shower, go to school etc. I had the little tv and SNES in my bedroom the entire time. Best RPG ever. The ending was really nice.

  • That ending rocked the SNES' high-res mode and overall display capabilities but good.

  • best final fantasy game ever - the playstation ones were let downs compared to this - even if they did have far superior graphics

  • I have Final Fantasy III And yes all the music is in that game almost the second tune is also in Chrono Trigger think of the Frog Bodo, Either way all great RPG's I never was a fan untill Square Enix joined force.

  • @Indulged1

if your talking about final fantasy III(3)(THREE) cartridge for the SNES, its 6 like the title & description say

& as for my love of Squenix? it a very serious hit when ffxi came

furthermore, NO tune from any fantasy is in ANY Chrono game

  • You mean like it says in the video description? No way.

  • You're probably thinking of the same game. Final Fantasy VI was released as Final Fantasy III on the SNES in America.

  • Ah you are right i just checked it out in ZNES and it's NTSC not PAL format.

  • Along with a lot of others, this is my favorite Final Fantasy game. Incredible music, incredible storyline, awesome characters, and one of the most sick and twisted end bosses ever.

  • The Best Final Fantasy ever. Also, my favorite OST. The cast of characters is memorable. This game deserves a 3d remake!!!

  • It's called the Magic House

  • Thanks, Kefka. You along with John Wayne Gacy and Stephen King convinced me that clowns are pure evil.

  • Comment removed

  • You guys notice that at 4:48 the opera music is practically Aeris' theme from FF7. This game by far most epic FF.

  • My personal favorite FF game. I feel that the music fits the steampunk world like a glove. Thanks for the vid (^_^)b

  • I brilliant game with equally brilliant music I still say this is his greatest work he's done particular notes: 0: 45, 4:48, 9:33, the music that the background video would have Dancing Mad the Opening theme, too many to point out well worth hearing (and playing)

  • I like FFIV's music better, but don't get me wrong, these songs are great too! It influenced some of FFVII's too.

  • Second only to Final Fantasy V. This game has many many memorable music sequnces. I once got 'yelled at' at work for whistling Shadow's theme over and over. LOL.

  • yummy. Shadow's theme is easily the best.

  • R.I.P Squaresoft, may Square Enix burn to the ground!

  • agreed

  • It's more RIP Enix. Poor Dragon Quest doesn't get the attention it deserves >:(. The Square side seems to be going fine.

  • final fantasy is better. Dragon Quest is what FF fans play when they're bored.

  • It's really hard to pick favorite tracks out of a game that has so many. Mr Uetmatsu was truly a master of SNES music, the music in this was even better than FF4, which itself was incredible.

  • 0:45 one of the best themes ever!
