  • Thank you ma'am for uploading this onion sambhar. I made this sambhar once and all my family members asking me to make this again n again. All thanks to you n ur video, easy n understanding video.....

  • Your recipes are wonderful and you explain very well too. Please continue to post more videos of S.Indian dishes. The Todi in the background is an added bonus!

  • you can add carrots . To use radish boil the radish separately and throw the water out as it will remove the bad odur of radish and add to the sambhar when you add the masala to it.

  • The table top is too high . You can use drumsticks , yellow pumpkin , bell pepper etc to it. Reduce a bit of tamrind and add 1/2 to 1 tomatoe to the masala and grind . you can even try adding 1 or 2 pearl onions to the masala . It will come really good . Trust me.

  • very good easy and different recipe.thanks for posting.

  • can we use chayote squash (chow chow ) instead of radish?

  • Yes you can use chow chow instead of radish. It would give a different taste, but should be good.

  • Can carrot be used instead of radish? Can normal onion be used instead of pearl onion?

  • were you a teacher in India?

  • Do we eat with rice/Dosa???

  • Thanks for your comment. Usually coconut if added when making sambar. These days people are watching their fat intake and cholesterol. So you can make this with or without coconut. It still tastes good. You can store the sambar in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days. This also freezes well. Hope this helps.

  • very well done.... thank u...

is coconut optional or must to have while grinding? what is the shelf life of this sambar? can we refrigerate and have?
