  • Is your pedal board running through the loop or straight in the front-instrument input?

I have two of these heads on their perspective Cabinets.

Can't say enough good things about em.

  • @AldridgeHalenFreak some of the pedals run to the input, some to the loop.

Wah, Phase and Flange go to input. Noise Suppressor, 2 delays, Chorus and Tuner run through the loop. Hope this helps! Cheers to a fellow EVH Gear fan! Thank you for visiting our page! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter too!

  • how do u hook the amp up if u have a full stack?

  • @SuperVanhalen1984 The head has 2 speaker outputs. Run 1 cable to each 4x12 5150III cab. Or if you have cabs with speaker in and out jacks, you could run 1 speaker cable out to the 1st 4x12 cab, then out from that one to the next. As long as the OHM's match 4, 8 or 16 you are good.

  • sounds a lot better with this cabinet at lower levels than EVH Cabinet. is this still the clean tone you're using while you gig it? I'm having trouble finding a good clean tone with this thing guitar/amp head.

  • @Sean2592 Yes this is pretty much my same setup now, other than I do have the matching ivory EVH Cab, and now have a Boss RV-5 pedal. I play the clean at quite loud stage volumes and its still seems nice and spongey,(is that a word?) with good articulation in the notes. Love the clean tone

  • @findingcore Thanks man i'll have to try it out. Best of luck on your tour man.

  • How does the clean channel hold up at high volumes? I used to use the 5150 I and I found it didn't really have a clean tone...

  • @BrianMorrison71 Holds up VERY well. Actually, you can get it to sustain/feedback even on clean... hard to explain, but sustains even on a clean sound. On MAX it will break up and get gritty, but you can get an insane loud Fender clean tone out of it! Thanks for the comment!

  • subscribed!

  • Wow... Channe three blew my mind ! You are great and Damn Eddie thank you !

  • delay pedal?

  • @VH5150MetallicaFan Sorry for the "delay" no punn intended, getting back to you! Delay pedals are 2 Boss DD-3's. I used one with shortly delay, about 250ms and when I kick in the longer delay, I have it longer, about 350-400ms. Each only with a couple repeats. Since this video I have added the Boss RV-5 digital reverb. I will do a follow up vid soon. Thanks much! Eric. Follow us on twitter! @findingcore and @eric_broadbent Cheers!

  • This EVH stuff looks like something that would make you just leave ALL the other guitar stuff you have alone. I bet most people who have this cant play the equipment they had before they got it!!! Its EVH...how could you? LOL

  • What's the delay pedals your using?

  • holy shit, that lead channel was amazing! what are the settings! and what are the delay pedals

  • holy shit, that lead channel was amazing! what are the settings! and what are the delay pedals?

  • @VH5150MetallicaFan Lead gain about 3 or 4, Bass about7, Mids around 9, High around 8-9 and presence about 8. Cheers and thank you for your comments. PS We used these amps on our new record. Look up FindingCore and Fifty Two Ten on iTunes

  • Just kinda curious since it's been a little while, does the EVH cabinet make a difference, if so would you please comment why?

  • @Sean2592 Yes does make a difference. Overall a beefier tone. Just seems more robust

  • anybody ever tell you that you look like John Petrucci?

  • @SASchertz Thanks for the comment! Funny you say that, 1 other person told me that before. Now, if I could just play 1/2 as good as John, I'd be thrilled! Thanks again. ~Eric

  • I'm thinking of getting one of these to run stereo with my Spalwn quick rod. How's the road been for this amp has it been reliable and consistent sounding? thank you

  • @MrCecilbag First, thank you for the comment! Second, it has been 100% reliable on the road! Never failed me once. can't live without it!

  • Sounds good. Just buy a reverb pedal The Eventide or Tech 21 sound cool.

  • I just bought the same guitar brand new online, Should have it by Wednesday - CAN'T WAIT !!!!! Great video and playing man, Keep up the good work :D

  • @minpinful Thanks for the comment. Some are through the front, others are through loop. In my case, Hendrix Octavio, EVH Wah, EVH Phase 90, EVH Flanger through front input. MXR BLS Chorus, Boss NS-2, RV-5, 2 Boss DD-3 delays and Boss TU-2 Tuner run through the loop. Hope this helps answer your question. Hit us up on Facebook, link is in description above.

  • Well we broke 10,000 views! Truly humbling to say the least! Thank you so much for all your viewership and comments! We'd love it if you'd LIKE us on Facebook. Our Facebook page link is in this video's description above. Hope you'll LIKE us! Thanks again!

  • I just got my EVH III last week and I love it. Your clean sound is very nice...did not realize that you could use more than one Delay pedal to get that sound. My question is, your effect pedals, do you plug into them and then direct in to the head? Or do you have them running through the effects loop in the back of the head?

  • @justibum Glad you have one now as well! Thank you for your comments, greatly appreciated! yeah you can use several delays. Here's how I run my pedals. I run Guitar straight into: Jim Hendreix Octavio>EVH Wah>EVH Phase90>EVH Flanger then that goes straight out to the front input of the amp. Then I run Boss NS2, Boss RV5,Zakk Wylde BLS Chorus & the 2 Boss DD3 delays, all running through the loop. Hope that helps! Cheers. Hit us up on facebook too! Just search Finding Core

  • nice to see someone who uses it for what it's for. thank's for the great demo

  • I've got a question about that EVH phaser 90. When I turn on mine, I can hear a bit of distortion under the signal of my guitar. What is it? It's working, but the distortion is annoying on the clean channel. And it gets stronger when I push the script button. Should I just add the noise gate to fix it?

  • @adrianenduro Are you running the Phaser through the loop or through input to amp? It should be to amp input. If you are still getting noise/distortion, Noise Gate/Suppressor will help. Keep me posted! Thanks for stopping by and LIKE us on Facebook! Search FindingCore

  • Seems like our view count is frozen. Other's having the same problem too

  • Black Label Chorus pedal Ftw :D

  • Nice set up dude! Did you run your wah pedal and other effects through the fx loop in the amp?

  • @wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa Some through loop, some through front. Wah, Phase, Flange, Octavio to amp input. Chorus, Delays, Noise Suppressor and tuner through loop. Thanks for your comment! Plase LIKE us on Facebook. Search FindingCore

  • Great amp! there great!

  • @5150DOA Thanks man, and you have some seriously cool EVH stuff going on! Looks like we share alot in common! Cheers buddy! ~Eric / FC

  • at least he doesnt copy everything van halen does

  • @stripes1497 Thanks man. Yeah I have been chasing Ed's tone my whole life. I feel like I am about 60% there. Will probably only hit 80% at best. I am trying to find my own "sound" now, and feel like I am on to something. Thank you for the comments!

  • great !!!!!!!

  • @WolfgangOU812 Thank you!!!

  • need me an endorsement deal

  • Need to keep his hair out of the way.

  • @alphasxsignal Trust me, it can surely get in the way sometimes! lol

  • @charvelstrat81 Actually, eddies original guitar was a true Charvel. He got his wood from a Charvel dumpster, but Charvel's woods came from boogie bodies. They were seconds that he assembled and painted himself.

  • how do u know if its a special or USA?? thinking of getting a lefty 3000 though, really need to think about it, evh tone.... more about the amp or the guitar?? Thanks G

  • @chickabuka It will say on the headstock

  • ed had it right back in 78-79 when he played CHARVEL but the wolfs are great

  • @charvelstrat81 I agree that the Charvel line is great, but the Wolfgang's really have a unique character and tone all to themselves. The neck pickup is great, and when used in the middle position (both bridge and neck) you can pull off some shimmering clean tones. Thanks for you comment here on the video! Greatly appreciated!

  • I love my wolfgang special as well! They play super amazing the longer you play em!

Just wondering as to how you got an endorsement. I would love one, but I want to figure out what I need to do to get one!

  • Great demo , versatile amp , I will wait for the 50 watter as I only play small venues . I am going to get a special thanks to the price . Great Eddie tones , my hero .Nice playing

  • @gravano2 Thanks much! I appreciate your comments! I am anxious as well to try the 50watter. Will be a popular model I bet! And yes, the Special rocks. Totally loving these guitars. Thanks for check out our videos. Hope you will subscribe to our channel!

  • @findingcore hey i have a question. is the floyd any good on the special? i heard it moight not be because it's mounted differently or something? idk. but whats the floyd like on it? thanks

  • @EliCurrent Yep, same Floyd as on the USA models. Mounted flush with the body (needed so the D-Tuna functions properly). Major improvements over previous Wolfgang models (Peavey) . 1 major improvement in my opinion is Outside threads on the trem arm as opposed to internal. Gives a bit more play/arch on the arm. Bigger dive bombs. Can't say enough good about this guitar. Love it. Thanks for checking out our vids!!! Don't forget to subscribe!

  • @findingcore okay thanks man. i just wanted to clear it up. some guy said they didnt like the fact you couldnt bend the floyd back, but they arent really meant for that lol. so im saving my pennies for this guitar starting right now!

  • @EliCurrent yeah you need it Flush for the D-Tuna to work best. While I do like Floyd's that you can pull back, the amount of time you will actually use that, is very minor. I'd rather have a Floyd sitting flush on the body, resonating with the wood, you know what I mean?

  • @findingcore yes i do. well like i said im saving up for that guitar (same finish as the one in this video. looks sweet!)

  • @EliCurrent I am sure you will love it! You will never want to put it down.

  • @findingcore and one more question! is the wolfgang on a limited production like the EVH replica? JW

  • @EliCurrent Nope, it is a full production model. Right now available in 3 colours but probably more soon. Get one you will thank me later!

  • Awesome video, great playing, channel 2 sounds like my kinda thing!- Thanks for posting! I can't wait to try out the 50 watt version.

  • @Chesterseventythree Thank you! Much appreciated. Just glad everyone seems to be enjoying the video! I had fun making it and plan on doing a follow up very soon, with the matching cab now that I have it. We are in the studio recording right now, and I'll probably post some footage of the amp in the studio too.

You are correct about channel 2. If I was only given 1 channel to keep on this amp it would be 2. 1 (clean) is great, 3 the lead is awesome, but you can play on channel 2 all day!

  • Hey guys. The new EVH 5150 3 mini 50 watt head comes out in June 2011. It will retail for $999.

So, half the price of the 100 watt head.

  • @davidrobinsonmagic Indeed, nice mini version of the 100 watt! I prefer the clean and rhythm channels having their own tone circuitry though, as opposed to sharing like on the 50watt. However, this little wonder will go from the bedroom to the arena though!

  • amazing review, you actually plays it. this is very important for us who live overseas and need to have an idea of how the amp is before buying it on a travel... after trying it just one time at the store....

better than the pro ones here

    thanks!

  • @GOLATTARI Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate this! I hope I was able to show some of the details of this great amplifier (and guitar for that matter).

This thing right out of the box is easy set up, no learning curve and just sounds amazing! Entering the studio with it this weekend.

  • Love the clean stuff! But every section of this amp sounds awesome!

I tested it in a shop, and you can definitely dip into a other world with it!

  • @ThePreciousguitar87 Indeed all channels are amazing, but channel 2 is my fav!!!! Warm! Thanks for the comments!

  • What do you think about the guitar? I don´t know wether I should buy an Charvel San Dimas or the Wolfgang!

  • @ThePreciousguitar87 Trust me, buy the Wolfgang, even if you go with the Japanese model. The import plays better than my USA (Peavey) Wolfgangs. A fun fun fun guitar to play, hands down!!!!

  • Be sure to check through our other videos here to see this amp and guitar in LIVE action! Look for all the videos filmed at Dr. Jekyll's.

  • Somebody get me a doctor!

  • I am going to do a follow up review to this video soon. About 1 week after filming this video, I received the matching cab from EVH Gear. There is an audible difference for sure. I will also be using better recording gear and pro sound recording too.

    Thanks for watching!

  • The best review on youtube. keep posting videos please

  • @JohnMichaelGuitar Thanks John, yeah trying to find the right balance of delay. I'm trimming it back to about 300ms of delay and trying to fade back the output level a bit too. Gettin closer to what I'm searchin for. Thanks for the comment!

  • That's gorgeous with the 2 delay pedals & the other thing you did...it's got such a mellow tone. Are those actual riffs from a song or are you just tinkering? :D WOW, I seriously have never heard such AWESOME playing; I know you know you ROCK.Hiiiiii SANDRA. :D

  • nice job on review!

  • @trevinor3 Thanks much for the kind words! Just received the matching cab and will be doing review update, with better sound and lighting.

  • @kingsofswing73: thanks for the tip, it is a valid suggestion, and yeah cheap camera mics as well. But I appreciate your comments!

@Thirdgen83: I am starting to agree with that!

Thanks everyone, greatly appreciated! More to come soon! 4x12 matching cab shipping this week to me!

  • @findingcore Don't get me wrong, I didn't wanted to criticize you...sorry!!!

Please try to get a better video/sound-equipment to have better recording results,

I would really like to hear your fine playing on that equipment the way it should sound...By the way, I'm from germany near the city munich...please forgive me possible language mistakes...

    Best regards,

    STEFAN

  • @kingofswing73 Hey no problem! It was actually a great idea! Will try and use a bit less delay. More vids to come soon and hopefully better light and sound! Cheers!

  • Yeah baby, yeah...!!!

But I think you use a little to much delay on most of your sounds...

You pick fast and correct, but it's quite hard to hear it clearly because of the heavy delay's...

Maybe the quality of the sound recording is not perfect,

or the microphone used isn't a high quality one...?

    Keep on picking...!

  • Slap-back echo sounds much better than reverb...

  • Good vid man!

  • Sounds awesome, dude!!!

  • @grantfisher Thanks Grant! Much appreciated!

  • Sounds great man!

I still have yet to try em both!!

Haven't seen them in my area.

  • Man that gear sounds fantastic, if I only I had the money. =.=
