  • Lovely photos....

  • Some of those photos I've never seen before. Great! The song is a masterpiece. Bowie's a genius.

  • Ken Andrews did a remake of this song. the orignal is kinda' folksey and Ken's version is epicly theatrical. don't get me wrong, I love Bowie, i just prefer Ken's take on this classic. (BTW the band ken headed when he did the remake was called "The Replicants")

  • One of Bowie's best lyrics... Great melody, too...

  • Before Ziggy or the Thin White Duke there was THIS Bowie....making very personal songs. I won this album in a raffle at my high school in 1973. I always loved this album and thank God that I flipped it over to hear the entire thing. Queen Bitch, Fill Your Heart, Song For Bob Dylan, etc.

  • @wpollock1 I think of this as part of an unrelated triology that began with 'The Man Who Sold The World' album that happen to be Bowie's best three albums for me and which have just about everything he has to offer, although he gave us more than that with other great tracks like 'Space Oddity', 'Heroes', 'Jean Genie', 'Ashes To Ashes' etc. I dont think after 'Ziggy Stardust' he made more albums that were entirely such classics

  • Bowie often "frightened the small children away"...those that grew up listening to his music are richer for it! Bewlay Brothers may be his crowning achievement lyrically! Simply brilliant song.

  • Good, young man.

  • fantastic

  • the bewley brothers were uncle arthurs sons.

  • @leroygwest What??

  • do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law .thelema.

  • the first time i heard this song it just threw me bowie the thin white duke is a musical fucking genius..!!

  • Sorry, but stupid (great) photos over so many years, whats the point for this song ?

  • @ziggy95

    Stupid question to ask....

  • one of his best :)

  • This song is about his brother i believe, also All The Madmen... Bowie's brother was sentenced to an asylum.. deep shit.

  • One of my favorite Bowie songs... excellent!!!

  • One of the best albums ever recorded and Bowie's best as well

And yea, It makes me think of the Galager Brothers, Liam & Noel, Oasis. The Bewlay Brothers,. U.K Rocks to this day! Oh You Pretty Things...

  • Hunky Dory was the first Album I bought,( at 13 I didn't like this track that much then), but over the years it became one of my favorites the whole album is still my fav ever Bowie album!

  • One of the best songs Bowie ever wrote; its about his brother, Terry, who was schizophrenic. Really moving song, fantastic.

  • Agreed! This is some of the best poetry in any song, ever written...and when I learned it was about Terry it became an even bigger favorite of mine.

    Peace.
