Kiyone and Mihoshi are just the perfect opposites of each other and though it really tries Kiyone's patience (understatement) to work with Mihoshi, in some ways she does need her to keep her from burning out, and Mihoshi does take a blast (like taking a bullet) for her in Tenchi in Tokyo.
