The only thing you can access in the original Perfect dark for N64 "Without" the expansion pak is the combat simulator, and I bought the game only for that! sense I wasn't going to by the expansion pak just for one game.

@1787dude wow! I was about to say thats a lot especially for an offline game but I've logged about the same. over 3 days on my game cartridge, 3 on a friends and a little less on another friends. I can play this today with a buddy for hours. Im still not sick of it. I wish I had 3 other elite friends to get ALL the stars with me. there was a "glitchy" kind of way to get them. Had something to do with making your own settings and starting the challenge, I dunno. My buddy did it on his game.

@4400seriesFAN as long as you made a user profile and always logged into it, the game did track all the time you spent and all the bullets, distance traveled and many more. the single player campaign even tracked the time spent playing it.

My favorite settings were based off the Pelagic II mission:

- King of the Hill, hill on radar, mobile hill, 20 second capture, kills score, fast movement

- Arena: Complex

- Falcon 2 silencer, Shotgun, Laptop Gun, CMP150, Shield, Cloaking Device

- Limits: no time, score and team score range between 50 and 200

Simulants: 2 Normal on your team, 6 on the other (Perfect, Dark, Hard, Normal, 2 Easy)

- Teams: Just two

Sometimes I put the Avenger in instead of the shotgun

Ay you can get 8 sim in the simulator but to do so I think you have to do 8 of the challenges

each star indicates how many players are needed to earn it. for instance, the 3rd star in, beat the challenge with 3 players. but beating a challenge with multiple players doesnt unlock star with less players. basically to get all 4 you need to beat it 4 times, once by yourself & with 1, 2 and 3 other players. I've beaten them all by myself. lots of challenges were too hard for friends. and only one other friend and I ever almost beat them all 2 player.

Not sure how much I'll really enjoy this being on the X-Box, especially online. This is easily one of my favorite games of all time, and I'd really hate to see it get taken over by prepubescent boys camping all over the place with Farsights and crap.

You wouldn't know they were prepubescent boys, since apparently nobody likes using their mic on PD. Also, the farsight is only in a few game modes. It's still hopelessly overpowered... They also decided to keep the maians as online characters; what a mistake!

This game is still leagues ahead of all the modern FPS shooters. Seriously most have just 5 types of machine gun, 4 snipers, 3 shotguns and 1 rocket launcher. No other game, sans L4D, has ever given me so much fun for so long and I am extremely happy they are bringing this to XBLA.

The combat simulator is all you can play without an expantion pack and i have lasted about 6- 7 years without and expantion pack

I'd challenge anyone if the game was able to be played online from nintendo 64! under the conditions of no farsights and DY357-LX And Maulers! All one hit kill guns are off. Just using the guns that require skill to use, and not some cheap way of wininng.

this game is being released for Xbox this year 8) supposed to have online I believe as far as co-op is concerned but not sure what else. I hope deathmatches and such. the visuals are going to be higher-res for now hdtvs and their widescreen display and the framerate smoother. so WOO to that 8) Im definately going to get it.

However, I did discover that if you play yourself against 8 DarkSims, your skill dramatically increases in a short period of time.

The amount of options that you had to choose from for the combat simulator mode was pretty insane. I used to spend hours designing characters...good times.

you have to do the challenges. Which in my opinoin, can get you pretty angry, when a perfect sim comes out of nowhere and headshots you with a falcon silencer. Man those sims have good aim.

in my opinion, this is the best shooter of all time. the people people say Halo created the FPS genre are idiots, Halo=A generic FPS with a decent plot and good multiplayer. PD= Great, unique and innovative FPS with a damn good plot and innovative multiplayer that has hundreds upon thousands of options to choose from.

This was my favorite game. So good. Before there were Halo parties,I used to have friends over to play multi on this game. My favorite variation was all Falcon 2's with one-hit kills. This was ahead of its time.

me too! since Goldeneye didn't have the Challenges we always did mutiplayer teams or 1 for all's to death! so when this came out, we played challenges more or made up our own team deathmatch challenge vs the sims. I've logged days into my multiplayer file and the one on 2 other friends games. It would be nice to see this same game remade and updated *_*
