  • My male is In conditioning but he won't build a bubble nest

  • Your betta is beautiful

  • @XxINancyIxX Thanks :)

  • ohh ok... so when its healthy it makes the nest?

  • @AshleyGuerin1 YES :D

  • @AshleyGuerin1 It means it is healthy.

  • why my male betta didnt like my femle betta?? they always want to fight...

  • @MizzyAlin My god. Are those my lovely baby Bettas have grown up?!!!! =D

  • @malaysiaonline its not yours, and pls dun try to communicate with me..im engaged now

  • @MizzyAlin Bettas always fight, it's in their nature.

  • @MizzyAlin maybe they got into an argument, cause the nest was too small, or she wanted a ring instead of bubbles. ha ha. jp.

  • I just got one of those sane exact ones! Aren't they beautiful. My other betta died:( he was a crowntail though

  • @bettalover1002 Congrats :)

  • @bettalover1002 Three liter is too small for any fish. Make sure you've got a decent biological filtration going on. And yeah, it's a veiltail.

  • hope he found a nice female for all his hard work

  • my betta used to do that when i first got him in his bowl :P now hes in a 2.5 gallon tank :)

  • @smileyfaceXD101 That's nice he got a more comfy place to live :)

  • @RRikesh ya :D i got a female 2 and she lives in an 1 gallon tank but i was thinking to update that

  • @smileyfaceXD101 yeah :)

Put them next to each other (in two different tanks). You'll see the male making big nests :)

  • @RRikesh i already did now hes making a small one :D

  • @RRikesh they both go wild when they see each other O.o

  • @smileyfaceXD101 That's what they do :)

  • @RRikesh i know and hes making alreally big one O.o

  • @smileyfaceXD101

Can someone help me :( I bought a beta today. His name is crimson ^_^ but he won't make a bubble nest. :(.. I'm going to wait until tomorrow and see if he will make one then but what if he doesn't?

  • @ainmelover321 maybe he just needs to get used to his new home . maybe when hes used to it then he might make one :)

  • @smileyfaceXD101

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I feel like I should tell you. My beta made bubble nests! But when I clean his tank he won't make them for a few days. But unfortunately he got bitten by another fish. I asked the people at pets mart what kind of fish go with Betta's and I bought some. But they nipped some of his tail. So I separated all of them. :( I feel bad for my Betta. His color is getting dull, and his tail is nipped. Will it grow back? I've heard that it will.

  • @ainmelover321 it will heal but if may take days to weeks. everytime when he establishes a comfort zone around the tank, he will then make a bubble nest, its usual for them to take a few days to start making a buble nest

  • I have a male beta, I just got him why does he make so many bubbles and I named him bubbles lol

  • @ashtonsporedragon3 some hours..

  • awww what a cute fish mine is white and pink :D

  • @smileyfaceXD101 nice nice :)

  • but why do they make the bubbles i have only 1 male betta and he is making buubles wat does it mean and wat do i do??!! HELP!!

  • @sharksharkbiotch nothing, hes just happy :) if u dont hav a female he dosnt want to mate at all. hes perfectly fine

  • @bettarescuer oh ok thanks

  • @sharksharkbiotch but wait if i put a female with my male would the fight or eat each other??

  • @sharksharkbiotch yes because they have not been conditioned

  • @RRikesh you have no idea, haha

  • @RRikesh you have no idea, haha

  • That's very cool! I never actually see my betta create his haha it just appears! Love the video! Check out my videos :)

  • @ilovemyBetta LOL. you must not be watching him often then! :)

  • not necessarily.

  • when the male dose the bubble nest do u put the female in too

  • My betta started making bubbles too the day I got him. And I also have the same type of male as you do! :D

  • @MimitchiTamaTalk Good luck with your new Fish :)

if you need help, just drop on Aquaxen Forum :)

  • @RRikesh He died yesterday. :( We were moving him into his new tank and hes pretty fiesty so he kept swimming away. By the time I woke up in the morning he stopped breathing. :( I wish I had him back.

  • @MimitchiTamaTalk I'm sorry for you. How did you transfer him btw? Did you acclimate it?

  • @RRikesh We scooped him up in the net and put him in the tank. But the petsmart lady said that couldve done it. We got new fish and put them in baggies and let them sit in the water for 15, then put them in. they're still alive today and we did that 2 days ago! Since then my new males bubble nest is taking up half of the top of the tank! ITS HUGE!!!

  • @MimitchiTamaTalk never listen to fish shops salespersons. Bettas are quite treated badly in shops!

A big bubble nest is a good sign :)

  • @MimitchiTamaTalk SUKS FOR U

  • song? plz reply

  • hey how cme my male bubble nest is popping.....cuz the eggs hatch and their trying to stay on the bubble but its keep popping....is tat normal or wat do i need to do the maintain it.....pls let me knw pls

  • @choj5508 It may be because of water movement. Did you cover your tank? We can discuss it on the Aquaxen.org Forum :)

  • i love it when bettas do this.

it means that they are happy, because the more bubble nests a betta makes, generally the more happy it is.

my first betta started making bubble nests the day i got him!

  • @gaqthsaswttpiu Yes. It means that your fish is healthy :)

  • why do they make bubble nests?

  • @shansnut they make bubble nest because when they spawn the males will put the male will put the eggs in there.

  • @shansnut Generally, bettas make the bubble nest to place their eggs in that during reproduction.

They keep the eggs in the nest until they hatch.

  • @RRikesh I have a male betta that is making a bubble nest and i dont know if i should do a water change he is in a larger vase what would you do. The water is about a week old

    Thanks, Lurk1ngLurk3r

  • that 1s cool I like the black head with bright blue fins

  • oh by the way thats a beautiful betta!

  • my betta always makes bubbles! but the water is dirty! i dont wanna clean it! i clean the water every time it gets dirty! im very responsible for my fish! dont put betta fish in really cold water! it could kill them. i did that and my betta almost died! so i had to put him in warm water so he could be able to live! i still have my betta! i've been keeping him for almost 9 months!

  • @wobblesfriend Bettas can survive in dirty water. But they are not necessarily enjoying it :)

  • @RRikesh Thanks :)

  • @wobblesfriend well if u plan to reproduce them dont clean the water because they need the slime to keep the bubbles together

  • Why do you have a styrofoam cup in the tank?

  • @98Shuriken It serves as a nest anchor.

  • hi i was woundering how long does it take to make the male to make the bubblenest :3??

  • should i feed my male betta? his making a bubble nest so is it okay to feed him?

  • @futerflash2 yeah. you should feed him. but don't feed him too much protein because it will foul the water. stop feeding after breeding.

  • looks like my betta !! :3 so cute..

  • i want to pop the bubbles...

  • @candy02710 blah. pop them.

  • my betta male wont make the bubble is the cup... ever since i put the cup he stopped making bubbles..

  • @Kikyo361 give it time, good food and good water quality.

  • @RRikesh i feeding them freeze dried blood worms... is that good enough food?

  • @Kikyo361 don't overfeed. It will pollute the water.

  • when u clean their water out does it ruin the bubble nest if so do they make another one??

  • What do u do when they have babies and u can't afford another tank? Is there a place were u can sell them? Help pls

  • @nugg3ttoprock sell them to your local fish store or to your neighbours/friends. Or you can trade them for other fish.

  • What a beautiful blue color. Our male has splash of red and white and a really pretty tail.

  • congratulations...

  • do you have to turn the filter off when they make the bubble nest

  • @primeotron yes. you should not have any kind of filtration. You *may* want to have 1 sponge filter with low bubble rate though.

  • is it alright if the male and female see eachother before spawning because im afraid wen i want to breed them they wont

  • @mamasboy285 it depends on how big they are in a way

  • is it alright if the male and female bettas see eachother before mating because mines see eachother every second of the day and wen i wanna breed them im afraid they wont any help...?

  • I am trying my first hand at breeding Bettas. I have everything down right, but my female does not show any interest in either of my males. She just wants to eat and swim around. I have placed her with both males a few times for several days and still nothing. They both have nests going and flair around the female and chase her once in a while, but she could care less. Does this mean I might have to get another female? I was hoping they would breed. She has a lot of color to her fins.

  • @EveryonesQT Maybe she isn't old enough. or did you check the temperature? try adding tannins. If everything fails, get another female.

  • @RRikesh Where do you get this "Tannins"? I have never heard of it before. Right now my tank is 75'. Is that too warm for breeding?

  • @EveryonesQT 75 is some what low(although I had spawns at that temperature before). Increase the temperature GRADUALLY to about 80-82.

Tannins are organic substances that make the colour of your tea brown. It has many good properties for your fish. Don't add tea as it contains caffeine too. Some cheap sources of tannins are Indian Almond leaves. Just make some research on that.

  • @RRikesh ive heard bannana leaves can make "tannins" but deos it hav to be dry? becouse ive just bout a whole packet of frozen ones. i need it becouse my male has built a bubble nest and when i realese my female she tries to go near the male and he keeps chasing her away! sumtimes she gets so scared sshe jumps out of the water! any other salutions?

  • @jetmea try putting them in a bigger aquarium. the female will have more space to run away. add some live or plastic plants too.

Banana leaves can be used too. They should be dried first. The advantages of using banana leaves is that the water does not get coloured by tannins.

  • @RRikesh well they just layed eggs yessterday morning and when do they hacth??? and also what do i feed the fry? i think its too late to make a brine shrimp hatchery?

  • @jetmea they'll take a couple of days to hatch. you still have time to hatch brine shrimp. But the best fisrt food id infusoria :)

  • My male is just paying attention to the female, swimming around her seperator and flaring at her. She is clearly ready to mate as she shows great interest in him, has vertical bars, and a visible bottom white spot. They are around 3-4 months old. He just wont blow a bubble nest, and has been in there for about 6 hours. What do I do?

  • @syketo are you sure they are 3-4 months old? when did you buy them? adding some tannins in the water will stimulate the breeding pair(the male will get more agressive too though). Tannins can be added via indian almond leaves or any other sources.

The optimal breeding temperature is about 28 degrees C.

  • @sunnyb395 until your betta have mated. or when you see them fighting aggressively.

  • @sunnyb395 Give them tiiiiiiiime..

It's normal that they chase each other. Everything gonna be alright after that. Remove the female if you see the male is being too aggressive. He might kill her.

  • the bettta is so pretty

  • @sunnyb395 give them time buddy!! the male must secure it's territory and they should get well together.

  • @sunnyb395 yeah, just cut in in half. your fish will do the rest.

  • Hey I made some vids on my new betta fish! come check them out!

  • This song is beautiful.

What is it titled? and who is the artist?

  • will male bettas make a bubble nest alone? When there's no females around? Is it instinct or do the males need a female around to spark the behavior?

  • They make bubble nests instinctively. It is a sign of good health in your male betta.

  • hi! i just bought a female for my betta, of course they are seperated..anyways, i think he is making a bubble nest under the styrofoam tat i use, just wanna know, how long will a betta take to build the bubble nest? and..when the babies grow up, can the parents leave with them? please reply ASAP! =) thanks..

  • The time taken for the bubble nest varies. It depends on the male himself.

If you breed them in a large aquarium, you may leave ONE of the parents with them.. But since you're a beginner, I won't recommend you to such a thing.

  • ohh! thanks a lot ! =)

  • i recently got a female betta and put it in the tank with the male but i put a divider so they dont fight and my male keeps flaring at the female but before i had the femal he useto make bubble nests (big ones) will he keep making them even if the female is on the other side?

  • yes.. if your fish can see each other, the male will continue making bubble nests.

  • my betta refuces to make a bubble nest but he keeps flaring at the female. what should i do?

  • I had the same problem so i switched the male and in 2 days he built one! So try switching the male. :)

  • yeah, that's true. do a water change or add some tannnins in the water will also help

  • what do you mean by switching the male? I only have one male and one female. my male is a little bit older than one year old but i got my female a couple of months ago, i tryed so many times for the male to make a bubble nest but he just won't, i think it has something to do with his age, or he's just lazy, plz help.

  • happened to me so i tried another male and now he has a hudge nest, so just try another male or another pair, your choice.

  • @MrFrogger1000 Did you find out what you needed to do I have the same problem,Do they eventually get use to eachother?

  • The male betta should make his nest in a Styrfoam cup make sure u cut the cup in half

  • exactly!!!!

  • a wat did u use a cup on top of the bubble nest

  • the male makes its nest in the cup

  • do u have to have a 10 gallon tank

  • no, it can be bigger or smaller. But bigger is better when the fry will grow up.

  • my betta is four different colors....light blue, dark blue, red, and purple!

  • Wow. Bettas do come in a great variety of colors ♥

  • how do u make it mak a bubble nest exactly under the cup tihng?

  • let him start making his nest and add it on top. he should carry on building the nest =)

  • no because when you breed dont you have to seperaate the fishes and then you end up with a bunch of fishes but no i dont plan too =(

  • Yeah you're right :D

your fish is cute. I had a look on the video.

  • sry i ment to say same

  • Oh.. No problem about that :-)

    Have you tried breeding?

  • i have the smae one

  • smae??? What is that?

  • lol smae=same :D

  • yeah.. It's difficult to reassemble a word when I'm half asleep :P

  • :P ...

  • blueish purple seems nice and i have a question my betta fish eats normal pellets and keeps spiting them back out is it that he dosent like them? or that he is sick of eating them? i feed him 2-3 pellets daily.and my bette just built a small bubble nest.

  • Maybe the pellets are too big for it. Mine love freeze dried blood worms. Vary the food. A day pellet, the next day blood worm.

    Don't forget not to overfeed!

  • ok thank you very much and how many blood worms 2 feed them each day?

  • A little pinch of about five worms.. If the weather is cold, feed less.

  • omg my betta fish is just like yours hes a pretty blue

  • That's wonderful. Blue is my favorite betta color. I've got some blue and bluish purple too

  • Your beta looks just like mine, but he died.

  • Oh... At what age? They should live at least three years...

  • He was 1 year old. I went to feed him and he was dead. I clean his tank every week and I have a heater. I feed him ever other day. I don't know what went wrong.

  • my betta wouldn't have let me get close to him while he makes his nest, let alone with a camera. He flares at me for a few seconds then runs and hides until i leave. crazy little critters

  • you've got a frustrated betta!! XD

  • Bubble making is a normal thing to do for the betta. It means it is in good health.

Don't worry about the bubbles, that's nothing with being aggressive.

How do you clean your bowl by the way?? It seems you're not doing it right :S

  • i need help.. my betta fish is a single male.. and he just started mnaking a bubble nest.. on the same day i need to clean his bowl.. will he be extra agressive? i already have enough troubles trying to transfer him to clean it -.-

  • Thanks liljle :)

  • its a styrofoam cup, cut, from top to bottom

  • yeah!!!! thats what they say. the real reason is that females do not have long fins and people don't usually buy them.

I have some luck that i got one from a local breeder who sold them to a fish store.

i'll post another video soon about my PAIR of bettas in my aquarium

    keep in touch!!

  • What did you put in the water so he could put his nest under? He is really pretty.

  • My betta keeps making bubble nests on my fish tank, it really wants a female but im trying to find one so badly but i cant find any cause the stupid stores say "we cant bring any" and wont say why...

  • wow lovely fish hes jus like my male fighter i love them fish

  • Yeah, they are so cuuuute :)

  • good to know mi fish is doin it right! lol

  • lolzz it ,means that your betta is healthy

  • yeah thanx doyou have any tips for sucessfully breeding them ( meaning the fish survive aswell mine all died:() thanx

  • you should have patience!!!!

    bettas are quite fussy.

first of all you should have a pair: 1 male and female. thats obvious, but be sure to get cheap ones until you get enough experience.

put the pair side by side without them getting physical contact and wait for the male to make a bubble nest.

then place the plump female with the male.

after spawning, remove the female gently so as no to break the bubble nest.

the male will guard the eggs!!!

contact me if you need more details

  • so tender
