Did you know to this ate I have not had a shiny pokemon in my Leaf Green game, ive had plenty in Emerald from Wingull, wich was my first ever shiny, to Wismur and more recently, now, a shinny Poochyena I maned him Delta. Ive also had shineys in DPPlt and a shiny Audino in White after only having the game for a week.

this isnt shiny... first of all lets say that the shiny arcanine looks orange. when a shiny pokemon appears there are some stars around it... but still shiny arcanine isnt orange. its yellow...

(gold) Trust me I caught a shiny poliwag once and when I evolved it, I used a water stone to evolve the poliwhirl into a poliwrath and no stars came when I used the water stone. and yes, It WAS shiny. you should try to CATCH a shiny pokemon and use a item on it BEFORE commenting

That's only in battle!

When a shiny evolves it does not make the "Ling Ling" sound or sparkle.

I know this because I caught a shiny Vulpix in Pokemon Ruby without cheats, and I evolved it.

Rares are usually a way weird color. They get encountered very little, but sometimes alot. What happens if you do evolve growlithe before you get flamethrower? He's a fire type!
