  • Russians have something in making things big ...

  • Man I wish they would send one of these on an Airshow tour of the US.

  • The US Secratary of defense did not like this video :p

  • @Flackerr The US Secdef doesnt bother himself with things that don't really matter.

  • Dr. Hannibal Lecter: Tell me Clarice, would you ever say to me "Stop. If you loved me, you'd stop"? Clarice Starling: Not in a thousand years. Dr. Hannible Lecter: "Not in a thousand years"... That's my girl.

  • extraordinary planes, never get tired of watching them

  • Or a hell of a tanker for the Backfires.

  • Wonder why the the Bear has not been re-engined with today's turbofan technonlgy? Then you would have a skinny B-52 with rough field characteristics. Why not?

  • @wildswine07 Why? It still super efficient in speed, range and endurance after 60 years in service. AFAIK they are not about to scrap it until 2040s. It gonna be a 90 yo weapon system in service!

  • @zipacna1980 yep. if it ain't broke...etc. The U.S. Air Force has a similar attitude...they have stated that the B-52 will remain in service until they are approximately 90 years old (not kidding).

  • @wildswine07 Good question, IMO. My guess is budgetary reasons. It might be too expensive for the Russians to engineer and retrofit a turbofan solution.

  • marode army

  • i love this airplane...

  • Tu-95

    920 km/h (510 knots, 575 mph)

Range: 15,000 km (8,100 nmi, 9,400 mi) unrefueled

Loaded weight: 171,000 kg (376,200 lb)

    vs

    B-52

    560 kt (650 mph, 1,000 km/h)

Ferry range: 10,145 mi (8,764 nm, 16,232 km)

Loaded weight: 265,000 lb (120,000 kg)

  • @MalinGenGTEAM1970 B52 doesn't have a turboprop... FAIL comparisation.

  • Ugly as sin but works when the latest high tech BS packs it up........gonna give the Ruskies their props on this plane & the AK-47, BOTH WORK & WILL KILL YOU AS WELL AS ANYTHING WE HAVE!

  • @golight

This are not ordinary propeller engines.

    Tu-95 have 4x coaxial contra-rotating (turbo-propeller engines). 15.000 HP each.

With max speed of: 920 km/h (510 knots, 575 mph)

And they are very durable and have range of 15,000 km (8,100 nmi, 9,400 mi) unrefueled.

  • Ugly as sin but works when the latest high tech BS packs it up........gonna give the Ruskies their props on this plane & the AK-47, BOTH WORK & WILL KILL YOU AS WELL AS ANYTHING WE HAVE!

  • USA said Russia used too much force in Georgia -- I am loughing my ass off, ha aha ahahahahahahahahaha

First time used in COMBAT USA B-2 bomber in 1999 bombing of SERBIA used to bomb Chinese Embassy Which is like bombing Chinese land. ooooo MAybe Serbia was threat to USA and NATO ha ?

  • wow they need fking rockets and a fking plane to fight pussys cant fight with hands and guns

  • An incredible aircraft and in my opinion THE Russian strategic bomber. One of the best pictures I've ever seen was a TU-95MS and B-52H sitting nose to nose at an airshow, old Cold Warriors finally together in peace. Being American and already having a love of Boeing, the B-52 will always be my favorite, but this old bird is an amazing design and still the fastest propeller driven aircraft ever built.

  • so the b52 dropped bombs in vietnam warm. Did that help?

as if the USA never stole any secrets.

why can't u guys ever give anyone else some kudos

    G

  • Ladies and gentlemen... behold... flying shit.

  • these things are epic!

  • 3a CCCP !!!

  • niet meet boven holland vliegen!

  • It may be old, but it carries nucleat tipped cruise missiles, and it doesn't have to get near a country to fire them. Yes it's old, but they are still useful, look at how the US uses the B-52 to carpet bomb in afghanistan, the russians do the same with this bomber, it's good against poorly defended targets.

  • @bombarderoazul yes, the B-52 is old but it still has upgraded JET engines, and MASSIVE bomb load. This silver monstrosity is the back bone of your shitty airforce... how terrible and pathetic

  • lol, we have upgraded to something vcalled " the stealth bomber", lol, russias technology is handmedownish

  • Well put. the great threat to the future is not American strength and American Power. It is American weakness and withdrawal

  • but you have to realize, no one in america wants to be in iraq, thats why it makes america look weak, because non of its citizens want to be there, now if some one invaded our country, it would be a whole different story

  • @MajorKonig49

They're 2.2 billion dollars a piece, we don't use them that much, so the B-52 remains our main strategic bomber, and is actually just as old as the Tupolev.

  • @jwpierce07

    B-52's top speed: 650 mph

    Tu-95 top speed: 575 mph

That makes the B-52 only 1.13 times as fast as a prop driven airplane, with worse fuel economy.

If you want a fast bomber, brag about the B-1B instead.

  • [Citation needed]

This is a recurring myth that really has no basis in fact. It is true that it had a different beat due to the contraprops but it certainly wasn't louder. At high speeds? Of course it was but so is any other aircraft and as a cruising aircraft it did not maintain high airspeeds to increase range and improve fuel efficiency.

  • although I appreciate the design and endurance...these almunium piece of junk cannot survive 5 minutes of a real battle nowadays..russia really need to come up with a good bomber...

  • Define real battle and good bomber. The way I see it this plane is no different from a B-52 in application so the Tu-95s role would be as obsolete as that of the B-52s. And recent wars have clearly shown that cruise missiles are anything but obsolete.

  • Ahh, the Bear.

The Russians would always make better friends to us than enemies, however, if they were to try to go up against us, I can think of no adversary more worthy.

I raise my glass to the Russians.

    Spasebo!

(Oh, and thanks for inventing my SKS, and my Mosin Nagant).

  • the bear is a legend and still alive and kicking i hope some time in the near future russia and america may become aliies if we go to war 2 super powers as strong as we both are we will all die

  • their cool :D

  • stable, reliable, long range. all you need for strategic bomber. stop complaining.

  • hey that ugly scares all EU and USA..lol

  • at least it doesn't look like a fat american ;-)

  • Do they still use that hunk of junk?

  • A deadly anachronism! What a work of art!

  • good job russia!!

  • Beautiful - it looks so stable

  • i love you russia ..mon amour (kissssss)

thats a beautiful airplane too btw

  • Her havner man så efter at have læst DR nyheder!

  • Agree!

Why do Russia offend the airspace of their neighbour countries?

It's nothing but a demonstration and it only leads to distrust between nations.

  • This plane just flew into danish airspace 4/2-09. Wtf is wrong with russians!!

  • it was a nice plane when it was first built, during the korean war era. but it became obsolete in the earlier 70's. It's only effective in very primitive environments and wouldn't even get to enemy airspace against any modern air forces or navy.

  • Yes and is just a reversed engineered American B-52 which has been still in service till this day.

  • perhaps you all should hope that the planes you so ardently discuss and swear about are never really compared in performance....

  • The Navy carrier guys say they don't need radar to detect it. You can hear it coming from 120 miles away. All 32 prop tips exceed the speed of sound! It's a fabulous A/C. It has tremendous lifting power and range. You try to launch your B-52 from the strips this thing can fly off from. Bravo Tupelev!

  • @wildswine07 not exceed speed .

  • @wildswine07 Yeahhhhh! There is no need for a siren to Jenks piss pants!

  • plus this plane droped THE BIGGEST H bomb EVER

    THE CAR

  • Deadly bird with killer weapons.

  • rustynest if you invest billions of dolars it doesn't mean that you will get amazing plane americans stole tehnology thru all of their history

nazi war criminal help them come into space they get all the nazi rocket blueprints russian only handfull of broken V2

plus russian planes ARE the best in the world in the filed of aronoutics and don't talk about facts if you don't know any

plane was made in time of SU (unlimited resorces)

  • you are just an idiot!

  • Let me put it this way buddy... you can dump all the cash in the world at a boat its still not gonna fly. Its not how much money you throw at something its all about the ideas you have that matter... no ones arguing that russias military is old and poorly funded that doesnt mean the equipment is worthless... its in a state of disrepair and in small numbers but it can still do its job and a damn good one at that.

  • That's hilarious. "americans stole tehnology thru all of their history". Then please explain the TU-4, which was a Russian copy of the American B-29 bomber. Explain the abundant Russian copies of Germany technology after they looted German factories after WW2.

  • LOL. The americans took a most of the nazi scientists back and got them to work on jets, rockets, etc. How do you think the US space programs originated

    ?

  • The Ty-4 was made copy of the B-29 crap because the B-29 crap had to land an emergency landing on a Russian airport and then they look at it and made a version of it then decided it was crap so that's why I call it B-29 crap. And made a best bomber Ty-95 till new ones came 'jets'

  • ok make this simple. You go to KFC store. you take a "LOOK" the chicken wings. you even BUY them. you take it home. now just by looking at the wing, can you figure out all 30 secret spices KFC has put into the wing? now think of a bigger image. a whole aircraft. millions of tiny parts. can you copy it by looking at it?

  • people (engineers) usually copy the design on how it looks outside...

  • @uncleroach Hahaha! And russia steals from the USA. Where do you think they got the know how for this piece of crap?? Thanks to the B-29 LOL! You accuse the Americans of stealing yet they are at the forefront of combat plane technology and have been for many many years. Where's russia? Even the brits, french, and germans are making better planes. LOL

  • @uncleroach Lol you idiot, the Russians got more from the nazis (material wise) than we did, we happened to catch alot of the best scientists, but the Russians captured whole factories where the V2 rockets were being build, with rockets that were still functioning, not broken. I feel youd be singing a different tune if it were the Russians who got the good scientists.

  • So what if B-52 is slow and old? B-52 is older.

Bear's cruise missiles have longer range than any US interceptor anyway.

  • andrewdahlin

WTF you talking about boy, get a clue.

MAX take off of B-36 - 190,000 kg.

MAX take off of Tu-160 - 275,000 kg.

Before you post some bullshit, get a clue about what you talking about. Another lesson to american stupid kids.

  • its a fantastic aircraft

  • Already from the very 1st shots of this clip I realised that I was falling for it. However I still do not understand: WHY DO ALL MILITARY AVIATION MOVIES, especially Russian ones, have to feature crappy beginning of 1990s computer sim games "rock" music?!

  • very good!!

  • My Favoite bomber, EVER.

So what it's a turbo prop.

Those crazy ruskies may have weird stratagies, but if you have a bomber that out-accelerates a jet, outmanuvers other bombers, and delivers a hell of a payload, at an economical fuel standpoint, you sir have one hell of a mighty bomber.

    Besides, It works.

  • When S.O.S can track you something is not right. LOL mabye the engines need another muffler.

  • all FLOODERs.

for the class is good bomber, and if to compare him to B-52, generator of hindrances at that far more serious.

  • In Communist Russia, Plane Flies you!

  • HAHAHAHA

  • Sure is a mean looking old bird.

  • BOOM US!!GO TU GO!

  • steve in russian = i suck kommie kocks

  • Noise level problems are exaggerated. It is not any louder than 8 turbofans of the B-52.

  • Turboprops not propellers. Speeds similar to B-52, the most numerous US bomber. Like B-52 is a cruise missile platform.

  • its not that great due to such out dated propellors like the americans use them for freakin training the only thing the bear is good at is long distance and even then its just escorted back to russian airspace by f-16s or other types

  • I don't like this plane. This bomber is fast but it's so loud the pilots develop significant hearing problems after so many hours of flight. Also, the West laughs at it because the allied submarines can pick it up on radar because of the noise the this bomber makes.

  • I can understand that the plan is one of the loudest in the world that some of its crew went deaf. But the Tu-95 is one of my favorate aircraft next to the Su-27 and the MiG-29. And yes I live in the USA, And I admire Russian aviation.

  • The 4 engine Tu-95 operates at an almost identical cruise speed as the 8 engine B-52, which uses jet engines. The Tu-95 is the fastest plane in its class. According to this video a new version is being designed for the 21st century.

  • ya 2 just flew into U.S. airspace a week ago just to piss the U.S. airforce off

  • it is supposed to serve until around 2040 and that is a testamnet to the effectiveness of the aircraft. dont forget the b-52 was designed in the 50's

  • fly over london conrade

  • they just don't need to do it...

  • Finally I got to hear what one sounds like!

  • Is this bomber still in service? I wouldn't think so,now that we're in the jet engine age. Pretty much propellers are obsolete in terms of their usage in military aircraft technology.

  • It IS in service besides Tu-160(largest and second fastest bomber in the world) and tu-23m3(fastest bomber in the world)

Flying this thing is cheaper than jets,it does its job perfectly and it have simmilar speed of b-52,there was even case when IDS Tornado in intercept mission couldnt folow him without use of afterburner

  • B-36 is the largest, but Tu-160 has a better payload, but Tu-160 came after SLBMs which reduced time to target from several hours to only 7 min.
