Vocal editing....wow, more proof that half the singers out there don't really sound like that...
I have a friend who just recorded and never got it mixed down, she feels bad because her songs don't sound like the prof. records, she thinks it's her fault...
You don't sound anymore intelligent because you phrased you last sentence... "sacrilegious, this is" rather then "This is sacrilegious." Stop trying to sound smart you fuck.
antares 4 had so many problems. the new auto tune works very nicely FOR CORRECTIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
Some people think autotube can make up for a bad performance, nothing can fix a turd. if is sounds bad use playlists, make a comp, then aut-tune your errors. god knows we don't need another cher.
@keezydadon um no. If you can't sing you still sound bad in autotune. if the person sounds off key that person will always be offkey no matter how hard someone tries to fix it in autotune.
I have a hard time with this version of auto tune. I use...version 4 i think...the green background..I should know that...but anyway I got the new version and it DOES SOUND Better...but it's alot harder to use...aside from that cool fact you don't have to hold down CNTRL when you drag a "make curve" vibrato. Holding the button is a small price to pay for the ease of V 4. Although i wish it had the better sound quality this has. Have them both...use version 4. Good enough. Saves me time!
Well, a lot depends on the type of mic and pre amp you use.Valve mics and valve mic pre's give a nice warm, fat smooth sound. You can get a moderately priced condenser mic and run it into a good valve pre amp. There are also software valve simulators that you can use to affect the recorded signal. They are ok.

There are plenty of forums and reviews out there. All the best :)
try adding a lttle bit of delay, duplicate the track and add a short delay around 10-20 milliseconds then add some reverb. Bring the fader down all the way then solo the original vocal and the delay and reverb, then bring up the effected track to the desired amount. I use this trick a lot that way you still have the raw vocal and the effect it sounds really nice and real like your in the room with the singer. This works well for rock, hip hop, and country not so much with jazz.

this is really complicated and unuserfriendly.

I love how engineers are afraid to use autotune to its full potential. in the industry its just as common as pro tools so the hate is pointless.

Just make her retake the vocal until she gets it right. sacrilegious, this is.

Nice vid. I prefer Melodyne as it sounds more natural.

@cigar420 Melodyne and Autotune yield the EXACT same results just a different GUI.....

@LastDayStudios No way! Listen closely to the artifacts Autotune contributes to your edit compared to the minimal on Melodyne!

Can anybody explain in 'simple english' how I can send a Pro Tools session from one computer to another?
I have recorded my arrangement in midi and audio. In 'simple english' though?

how do u get the vocal to be real rather than having a raw quality from the microphone?
begjon 3 years ago
Real or nice sounding ? The raw sound is the real sound. If you add reverb it gives it dimension - gives it a space in the mix.

i wnt the vocls to be clean and smooth nice sounding.a original sound rather than being raw from the mic.
