I do have some Dark Walnut rough cut slabs & small 2x4's & things, But once that is gone & used up I will have NO wood OR money to get new wood considering the prices of wood these days. Hopefully one day I will be able to purchase some of your lumber or pick up scraps maybe? I live in SW Michigan & WILL travel once I figure out how to contact you & try to work SOMETHING out. I will be a much happier person knowing there still ARE people like yourself pushing to be a great. Thanks for the video.
I wish I could just get some of your cutoffs or anything with bark! I am 25 & just started working under a 40+ year craftsman/ lathe-man/ furniture builder/ all around wonderful wood smith. I've been messing with wood for a couple years now & simply want to try & make a living doing it. I only need to make a living, NOT a killing; as most American folks will have you believe. It's just VERY hard to come by rough cut materials without a mill or kiln near by.
I wish I could meet you personally, A man that is part of a once large & now small group of men that actually CARED about his trade & simply just being true to his self & his customers or "friends". Again, Wish I could simply shake your hand.
@ThatFellazZz - Thanks for your interest. George Martin started his own woodworking business in 1970 and we dry a lot of our own wood. We still adhere to the high standards for our furniture even today. Unfortunately George, as you see him in the video, passed away in 2010. The business was transferred to the second generation before his passing. We miss him very much but we still hold to the highest standards in our craft. If you are ever in the area, stop by for a tour.
