being a father myself I can relate to the emotions. I am blessed to have a children that brighten my day and tell me everything. I get way more of the earful than thier mother.
As a parent, I can understand that burst of emotion where he slapped her. it is a desperate act in which the parent thinks discipline will make this problem disappear and the child will take the words "I'm pregnant" back and all will be as it was. But, his second reaction of hugging her and promising he will love her baby too, is the one where we as parents realise this is real life and wishing our children young and innocent is gone and we must embrace who they have become. As a parent, I can understand that burst of emotion where he slapped her. it is a desperate act in which the parent thinks discipline will make this problem disappear and the child will take the words "I'm pregnant" back and all will be as it was. But, his second reaction of hugging her and promising he will love her baby too, is the one where we as parents realise this is real life and wishing our children young and innocent is gone and we must embrace who they have become.
