Bobby i couldn't agree more - its that leap of faith thing and trusting yourself - if i watch what i am playing and concentrating i always screw up - but on the other hand if i chill and couldnt care less and let my fingers do what i have trained them to do over the years in one form or another it all comes together - i know it sounds strange but i believe all guitarists and musicians have and need split personalities to function properly.

@bigandrew1966 thanks...well i guess all us teachers have different approaches/methods/values as unique and varying as our own personalities...but yes i do try to add knowledge and wisdom to my guitar lesson videos to try to get people to think and to place things into perspective....some aspects of guitar lessons can also become metaphors for life lessons.....

I have been playing for almost 2 1/2 years and while my speed is not at a snails pace it's certainly not where I would like it to be. My teacher said I may never be able to play at lightening speed. I'm good with that though. He was just being honest with me. I would love to be able to shred at lightening speed but if it doesn't happen I'm good with that.!
