i love muay thai and no disrespect but the dance moves are funny as hell lol...especially when buakaw nods his head stand up and does the cowboy rope thingy lol priceless
@ztiteoz if you practice muay thai and want to compete seriously, you will eventually train in thailand. if you train in thailand, you will understand the importance of the ram muay, or wai khru. your extent of muay thai is probably watching it on youtube. so of course you'll have your moronic opinions on buakaw's 'dance'.
Well most of you guys r wrong. First off im amateur muay thai fighter in cali. just fought my fight and did the dance. its called wai kru. its used as a sign of RESPECT and thanks to your gym and coaches. but ive also heard its to worship buddha and shit lol. but ya. pros and amateur can do. depends on promoters and commision. WELL atleast out in california thast how it is. thanks. im 4-0 so i have a little experience haha
@MrCarstennielsen Petrosyan would kill buakaw in a k1 fight...Buakaw barely beat Giorgio when Giorgio was a 21 year old kid in THAI RULES...Imagine what Petrosyan who is much better nowadays would do to him...he would destroy bumkaw
The fact of the matter, IF elbows, and knees were allowed fully, like in full flegded Muay Thai, there's not a fighter in the world that would survive 3 rounds against Buakaw, he's a monster
@bignud ...........buakaw has been taking advantage countless times... however, petro recently went to thailand and fought another thai fighter.... sayok just beat the crap of petro... you should see. actually anyone here should see.... it's quite amusing!
Petro is the man and Por Pramuk was the man and can be the man again. That would have been an epic fight. Petro is much better then he was back in this fight and Buakaw would have had a challenging fight that he would have had to dig for.
Buakaw won this fight, it shouldn't have been a draw. However this was 3 years ago, and petrosyan was only 21 and just a kid during this fight and was inexperienced. Petro had been fighting only mid level Europeans and then was given this fight and his inexperience against top level competition showed. However now, petro would beat buakaw. Petro has improved tremendously in the 3 years since this fight, and looks unbeatable. Now petro is not inexperienced vs top competition would beat buakaw
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
True, Petrosyan and Souwer are the two best. Those with a carefull eye would notice Buakaw has gotten worse since that time too. His fanboys would scream sacrilege at the mere notion of it, but it's true. He's using the clinch and throws more and more against strong fighters. Holtzken gave him a real hard time this year, and if Holtzken hadn't made the mistake of walking into all those frontkicks, he'd have defeated Buakaw.
actually is armenian but he learnt how to fight here in italy...so if u consider where he learnt muay thai the answer is italy..so that i consider him italo-armenian..for instance rocky marciano was italian but he learnt how to box in the usa...so hes american when talking about boxing...
@V13t5ta It`s Muay Thai! It`s a WMC worldchampionship fight. Buakaw won 2006 over Johmod with a TKO in the 2:nd round. Petrosyan is challenging Buakaw in this fight. It begins with a Ram Muay then it is a 5 rounds bout. The reason they don`t use elbows is because it is forbidden in Sweden where the fight took place.
@fedbymum this is a k-1 event fought under k-1 rules. and like you said, theyre not using elbows. how can a fight be a muay thai fight if they cannot use elbows? and theyre also not allowed to continuously knee in the clinch. again, inconsistent with muay thai. this is not a full-fledged muay thai fight.
@V13t5ta According to you it`s "not a full-fledged muay thai fight", but this is thaiboxing according to the Swedish rules. They`re not allowed to knee continously - true, but it`s almost the same in Lumpinee nowadays, the techniques (knees)must have effect to be allowed in the clinch.
@fedbymum Dude, why are you insisting this is Muay Thai? It's not, deal with it. No prolonged clinch, no elbows (ever in K-1, not just in Sweden), totally different scoring system. It doesn't take anything away from the sport or the participants to admit that they are different.
@otherwise1000 Well this is the way muay thai looks in sweden nowadays (unfortunately) I would also want to see the bout with elbows and a longer clinch but well this is how it is.
if you say something like this to kru yodtong, songchai or boonlai he will laught.because of our stupid mentality in europe we are bastardizing muay thai.there is nothing better to watch a title fight from lumpinee 80's or 90's the golden era...
@karabouzouklis Yes,that`s probably true, but now they have changed the rules again so elbows are allowed in Sweden when it`s a superfight or a titlefight or just an A-class fight. And tha`s great.
@V13t5ta u know elbows arent exactly as safe to use as people think. MMA fighters usually opt to use Hooks instead of elbows because of the better range and power hooks have. thats not to say elbows are bad, they are awesome on the ground but hooks are usually better standing up. muay thai isnt even muay thai anymore really. all their punches are from boxing now a days but that made it better actually. MMA was the best thing that could happen to combat sports.
Would've been great to have seen these two in the Final this year. The only thing that stopped it was the large amount of money the judges were awarded pre-fight to give Souwer the gift decision. Disgusting robbery.
Non è bukaw che non si è impegnato secondo me, è Perosian che non gli ha dato modo di colpire giocando di anticipo. Penso che siano grandi combattenti entrambi, veri artisti! :)
Buakaw seriously needs to stop his stupid ritual dancing routine. It only makes him looks a stupid idiot. However, his quality of kick skills is amazing. He owned Petrosian. Petrosian on another hand, has quite a potential.
r u dumb ??? if u saying he should stop the ritual dancing .. u shud stop watching muaythai ..... only amatuer dont do it ... plz stop the nonsense about he shud stop .. idiot
@yellohwarrior have nothing to do with pro or amatuer, most pro-fighters from europe dont do it.
every amatuer competetion i have been to, they do not allowed the dance, coz it will take too much time.
@theacempire their is a short and long version of Ram muay. its a traditional dance to show respect to their trainer and upponent, every fighter does not have their own dance but it can be a little different from gym to gym
