  • honestly i bend my elbow (the one i throw with) if i stretch it out, i feel more stressed, the ball its to far and it ends up going down. I do it how i feel comfterable:) first year of volleyball i love it i just got my serve in less than three weeks:)) hoepfully it works and todays game. NETTHREATS(:

  • Im concerned about learning volleyball from someone wearing JEANS.

  • WHAT!!!!!!! I CANT HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • i CAN'T HEAR YOU!

  • Speak up! Can barely hear u!

  • she hits the net xd

  • cant hear you...

  • FAIL!!!

  • Why the fck would you cut the videos right when she contacts it?!? Then we can't see what she's doing?!?? FAILLLLLLL VIDEO

  • SERVING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SPIKING AND THANK YOU

  • thats wackadoodle

  • pull that elbow back when you're about to toss the ball. you're not going to get enough strength just lifting your arm like you're waving to someone

  • Get mic-ed or get the camera closer...

  • my coach says DO NOT follow through with yr hand & arm when you serve.

  • your coach is really wrong.

  • That is really wrong. That is where you get your power.

  • @xxjackayy thats if you want a float serve other wise he is wrong a float serve goes all over the place to make it hard to judge when and where to pass it.

  • was she aiming for the net because she hit it every time?

  • this video teaches me how to serve better than when i went to volleyball camp....uhg

  • You two gave very good instruction on this video, it's just hard to hear. :) Good Job!

  • thats dumb... i tried following through and hitting my hip.... i got too much topspin and it hit the attack line on our side of the court.....

  • i <3 volleyball forever and ever!! =)

  • i can't hear anything on the video. serving is really hard for me for some reason.

  • advice: play tennis the serves are very similar and its really easy 2 adapt it to volleyball :D

  • true....i can play badminton and volleyball but my game is tennis...and if you know the service in tennis it is similar in the service of volleyball....

because when we have a volleyball game i easily serve the ball...

  • me 2 i play for 1 year all my friend can serve i still cannot T.T

  • I think SERVING is more important than spiking..

It's best to actually get it OVER the net first before you play the ball, hmm?

  • @cassiosaurus haha thats funny! :)

  • @cassiosaurus this is not a spike its an overhand serve

  • and just who is this "number 1 coach in america"? besides...tina AND molly both play college volleyball...you still wanna tell them that they're wrong? it's apparently working rather well for them. and whoever taught any of you to serve with a fist has no idea. NEVER serve with your fist...you have no control over where the ball is going and therefore your serve is less effective.

  • I agree. The coach is probably her dimented cat servio.

  • noo there wrong i play with the #1 coach in america and he said thts wrong but idc do w/e u want

  • yah #1 im sure

  • wow this is good thanx

  • im no expert but wen u bring ur hand bac it shud be like idk how to explain it but not up like ur fingers shud b right next to ur eye and ur thumb next to ur ear and ur elbow flat behind ur head like heres a drawing lol

    ()-head

    *-hand

    -----=ARM

    O=elbow

    *---------o

  • No ur wrong the people who made the vid are right.

  • Tina, this is a decent informative for my daughter who is just beginning to serve overhand. You could improve your video with better qaulity audio. I had the volume all the way up on my laptop and the sound was still barely audible. Thanks for the lesson.

  • Thank you so much for the help! I am also trying out for my school girls' volleyball team, and I want to double check the steps. Thank you!!!

  • thanks so much i watched it on mute cuz my bro is asleep, but it was really helpful! i wanted to make sure my serve was correct because i'm trying out for my school team.

  • thats how u spike it! not serve!

  • ...........

  • i just started volleyball about 2 weeks ago.

    at first, I served underhand.

but, thanks to this video, I now serve overhand :) this is the best video that I've seen that teaches you the technique of serving overhand.

if you can't hear the video, turn up the volume all the way and you should be able to hear it :)

thanks so much & great video!

  • Great job demostrating. I turned my speaker up and could hear just fine. Thanks for taking time out and sharing your skills.

  • ok and i forgot to say that i think its easier to serve with a fist! ok just try it( and it doesnt hurt). Oh and if you think that i cant do im just a grumpy person im really not (and i can serve) (Over and under) ok now im just braging. cya

  • ok that was boring and i couldnt hear it! because there in a gym. ok i was just looking for some tips not from start to finish and if you really want to know how to serve ask a gym teacher or coach how to do it and join a team its a lot of fun. ok i no this is long but its worth reading!

  • so boring...

  • i can't hear you

  • I couldn't really hear you, but the other girl demonstrated well She looks like a good server.

  • this is realy good! It does a great job of explaining how to serve very well!

  • speak up please!

  • thanks, i need to know how to serve to make my middle school volleyball team next year.

  • Audio is bad, i can't hear you on my comp speakers

  • ball never even went over the net!

  • i cant hear her..thats the problem! but good demonstration!

  • Wow that helped alot! Great way of explaining it too! Thanx

  • nou can make a fist. just open it up whenhitting the ball. my coach did that

  • hmm..pretty helpful. I make my hand to a fist then I go serve it. Is that correct or I have to open my hand?

  • you usually open your hand

  • open your hand as wide as possible, it should burn. It will give you control of where you are placing the ball. Remember, whereever your hand is pointing at the end of your serve is where the ball will go.

  • lol thx
