the sense of dead space is to scary the player. i know that it is easy to play deadspace 1, but deadspace 2 in hardmode is difficult, too if you compare Doom 3 with it.
In Dead space The Hive mind on Impossible mode was as easy as it was on well "Easy" but as for Doom 3 the last boss on hard if I can remember corectly made me want to bash the controler through the tv. Doom 3 pt.2 Resurrection of Evil on the other hand only took me about 5 tries to beat doctor dick into the dirt and rip his freak'n head off but then again I had saved all the BFG and rocket launcher ammo for that fight.
Doom 3 made the last boss way to easy but resurrection's last boss was harder as for Dead space the last boss was really easy all you had to do was strafe left and right and shoot the weak points.
i dont know maybe i really despise dead space cause in my last year of college i met a jerk who talked about deadspace 24/7 i hated his guts. now i guess i play dead space too seriously i dont know. i just hate dead space.

I have both. Well actually i used to have DOOM 3 but can't find it know. But DOOM 3 was scary as hell! But don't get me wrong Dead Space is great to just DOOM was scarier in dead space the monsters at least make some noise. @37712 Now I disagree with that statement. If you don't think Dead Space is scary, then you can't think Doom 3 is scary. The enemies use the same tactics, they both wait till you come close then they jump up and scare you. The scariest game of all time is the Resident Evil REmake.
@37712 Dead Space is an awesome game, and actually it is scary and has a better history than Doom 3 in my opinion. But Doom 3, as far as I played it, it's harder (I played Dead Space just in Normal and Difficult mode, Doom 3 i'm playing it in normal one). Both are great games.

And about you said in your first comment, well, Dead Space is a bit predictable for me, but the first time I played it I almost die because of heart attack at the very ending lol. Doom 3 is scarier overall but i've just played the first 5 levels, must play more for saying if it becomes predictable as you advance (to be continued)
@MrMontilius unfortuanly dead space monster where predictable for me just look around the room for ventilation openings and dead corpses, follow this procedure and you will never be taken by surprised on dead space. unfortunately this procedure does not work on doom 3 since the monsters will come out from everywhere even from moving walls so don't corner yourself to the wall, I am saying this from personal experience. and yes I used to mod doom as well.
@37712 In which we agree is in that both are good games although you prefer Doom 3 :) I must keep playing it, waiting for Doom 4 to come. Nevertheless Dead Space has the originality that there are more uncommon situations like fighting on zero gravity, which as far as I played it doesn't happen on Doom 3, but maneuverability is better on Doom 3. They have advantages and weak points between them. Do you know if Doom 4 going to be released for Playstation 3 or just for PC?
@lauris47 it does have it scenes where it tries to scare you with gore and mutilated corpses but it really did not scare me specially since monsters always pop out of the air ventilation system or are playing dead on the floor no surprise there. the sad part is that doom 3 came out in 2004 and looks as good as dead space if not better, monsters in doom 3 are also much more scarier, search hellknight on google and tell me that shit is not bad ass

@MrMontilius imagine when doom 4 comes out and people compare it to dead space 2. that would be an obvious win for doom 4 and ID software specially with their ID tech 5 game engine which up to this day is still vastly unrivaled by any other. a little bit of history for you: ID software has always been the best company in the world at making game engines which last for years on the market as well as in use on the gamin industry because of their vastly efficient and innovative programming.

@37712 Hmm yes you've got a point. I'll buy Doom 4 with no doubt for PC. I am a big doom fan since it was released in 1993 and I still play old doom WADS XD. And about you said in your first comment, well, Dead Space is a bit predictable for me, but the first time I played it I almost die because of heart attack at the very ending lol. Doom 3 is scarier overall but i've just played the first 5 levels, must play more for saying if it becomes predictable as you advance (to be continued)

@MrMontilius unfortuanly dead space monster where predictable for me just look around the room for ventilation openings and dead corpses, follow this procedure and you will never be taken by surprised on dead space. unfortunately this procedure does not work on doom 3 since the monsters will come out from everywhere even from moving walls so don't corner yourself to the wall, I am saying this from personal experience. and yes I used to mod doom as well.

@37712 In which we agree is in that both are good games although you prefer Doom 3 :) I must keep playing it, waiting for Doom 4 to come. Nevertheless Dead Space has the originality that there are more uncommon situations like fighting on zero gravity, which as far as I played it doesn't happen on Doom 3, but maneuverability is better on Doom 3. They have advantages and weak points between them. Do you know if Doom 4 going to be released for Playstation 3 or just for PC?

@lauris47 it does have it scenes where it tries to scare you with gore and mutilated corpses but it really did not scare me specially since monsters always pop out of the air ventilation system or are playing dead on the floor no surprise there. the sad part is that doom 3 came out in 2004 and looks as good as dead space if not better, monsters in doom 3 are also much more scarier, search hellknight on google and tell me that shit is not bad ass

haha, i like that. if you actually played doom 3 and memorize names like me you will know what im talking about here. in doom 3 there's a creature that summons cherubs, imps, and commandos called the arch ville. imagine a archville that is extremly tough which summons doom 3 guardians, cyberdemons, and the worm thing at the end of dead space.

Dead space is better game on everything (4 years after doom 3, no wonder how ) but also it is like copy of doom 3 ( same monsters , both in cosmos stations , same ideas ... ) Both are really scary games .

Yo, dude, Dead Space has aliens, Doom 3 has demons. Dead Space takes place on a planet cracker mining ship. Dead Space has very different ideas than Doom 3.
