With little amateur experience throwing him in with a live opponent on debut would be a pretty stupid move. That said Psonko is a more than acceptable opponent for a debut.
And I thought wrestling was the only staged "sport"!!! I dont think Psonko even threw 10 punches (even when he had golden opportunies with JNRs concentration lapsing). I know it was just a confidence boost for the lad but i really hope his next match isnt just a workout and his opponent actually wants to win. "The only way to get better is to play better opponents" - works in every sport.
Everyone is chatting shit on here! And not one boxer between ya's!!! This was Eubank jr first pro fight! It's a learning game, he done very well! The lad has got class and patience! He will go along way!! game!
eubanks son has a long way to be a good boxr in my eyes, i mean he did not master the basics, every one knows to get to the face u must hit the body continually not only that boxing is not about fancy moves or technical out boxing like eubanks jr , boxing is about heart infighting style hard puncher because no matter how fancy ur footwork is u can never defeat a good infighter because in the world of boxing strength and mental ability matters and in this fight i did not see any of that from him
@backayoka If he didn't have a long way to go on his debut, that would be weird. Also, Ali (vs Frazier and a multitude of others) Ray Leonard (vs Duran II) and Robinson, just to choose a few, might disagree that a boxer can't beat an infighter.
why did the ref stop it psonko still had a chance so be it he was punched like boxing bag, in the boxing world anything happens and ref in this bout has destroyed any chance of that i mean even in the last second of the 12 round no matter how badly a boxer was beaten if he is still standing the boxer has a chance no matter how little the chance even it is impossible for him to turn it around its still means impossible chance does not mean its 0, they are times when a boxer suddenly wakes up.
i don't call this a fight a rookie can fight better than psonko im sry i had to say it whats more amazing is Eubank jnrs ability to knock a boxer out not only a boxer a sand bag he couldn't even do that does that make sense an elite boxer who was groomed from a young age to become a better fighter than his father to ultimately choose to fight such a boxer in his first fight lol not only that he could not knock him out, in the end it became a home decision win to Eubank he gave a victory poss lol
@PeteShamrock101 Do you not see the hypocrisy in what you're saying? You say he's being treated lightly becuase of his father yet it was his first fight. You are expecting so much from him already, because of who his father is. This guy fought Groves on Groves' debut too, and Groves was unable to stop him. Give Jr a break.
Wow if i did'nt know any better i'd say its almost as if Kirilas was told/payed ta throw this fight. At one point in the end the ref just looks at him as if ta say "ya know what your fucking useless at selling this" but even if that not the case, Chris Jr was given a low level fighter ta make him look good purely cause of who his daddy is. I hate when fighters are mollycoddled like this ~sigh~
@thedannyrugged its his 1st pro fight groves fought this guy and a few others its his 1st fight after 25 or so amateur fights and wining the gold gloves in usa who would you like to see him fight for his 1st pro fight ??????????? lol
When i heard about Chris Eubank Jnr I thought he wouldn't be as good as his father as he was a once in a generation fighter, but he looks very good. If he showboats in his first fight then i expect he will come a cropper soon or later.
@TheDannyrugged 'Girly slaps'? Shut up you clown. He's only just out of his teens and not grown completely in to his strength yet, plus, he got his rugged Eastern European opponent out of there. This guy isn't somebody who get KO'd, he usually loses on points or is stopped via TKO. Eubank's punches looked solid and technique was good. He was knocking guys out in the amateurs against opponents with head guards. I don't think he needs to worry about your shit advice.
@TheDannyrugged but sorry who are you to give him tips? he had a amazing amateur record and does have alot of power and speed, not tomention he gets trained by Mayweather Sr and hes dad Chris Eubank SR?
@kareemabdullah to do that he needs to punch the liver and the ribs for the fighter to drop his guard then punch the face not just the face but the temple of the face or the jaw with a upper cut that his legs will paralyze and he wont get up again wow with this much knowledge maby i should be a boxer which im not too old to be ehh lol
Not gud 2 watch I mus say. I was thinking he was head hunting 2 much & Dad got in there.

Very good skill set shown for a pro debut! Eubank Jr looks like the real deal and as he gains experience he could one day become simply the best.
Based on that performance he's got what it takes to become a credit to the Eubank lineage but time will tell.
