Norman Cave (Trombone in this video) is my girlfriend's great uncle. Fantastic to see a video like this! Anyone have any others featuring Norman Cave?
@bellawise Wow that is amazing, Simon is my favorite drummer i hope one day i can meet him, and hearing he's old recordings like theise are just incredible :)
its amazing to hear and see how my most favorite drummers evolved.
This is a great foot-tapping number. many thanks for sharing it with us. Sid was one of the best clarinet players and died far too young in 1972. I think he was in his early 60s. One anecdote I particularly liked about him concerned the band leader Ambrose. Ambrose offered him a seat in his Band, but Syd said he had given up playing to concentrate on writing and arranging music. Ambrose then offered him £25 a week to play in his Band ( a large sum in the mid 1930s). So Sid joind the Band!

It is Kenny Ball. Sid was my cousin. His son, Simon, is a world-class drummer last with the rock group "Toto."

Great clip. Sid was a phenominal player. I'm pretty certain that the trumpet player is Kenny Ball, soon to lead the Trad Fad.

It is Kenny Ball, Pete - and I mentioned this in the info about the clip when I originally uploaded it (see info to the right of the video screen).
