  • Thank You! : )

  • Great sound texture ! I believe the Solaris could reach this dimension and width (with even more flexibility) of course I haven't compared them (who knows one day maybe ! )

  • The CS80 and JP8 are great but a DX7S is the ultimate synth. It has more power and sonic versatility than these two put together.

  • That CS80 aftertouch is something to behold when used like this.

  • Beautiful sound and wonderful cinematography too

  • dat sound

  • wow this is beautiful. my dream synth right there! lol

  • Antigravity. :D

  • Antigravity

  • For some strange reason this reminds me more of Philip Glass than of Vangelis. One of the best synths videos around, man!

  • Bei diesem Sound läuft es mir eiskalt den Rücken herunter.

    Wow.

  • Absolutely brilliant. Please post more!

  • Hmmmmmm tasty! Awesome Synthesizer!

  • Lovely, Awesome synth!

  • The CS-80, JP-8 & OB-X are the very best of analog synths.

  • @Chriskkboongg add an elka synthex to that

  • @Chriskkboongg I'd trade the OB-Xa I have for a CS-80 or JP-8 any day of the week.

  • I just got one of these...youtube accounts, that is.

  • this is ridiculous, honestly mindblowing. may I ask what you used to record it? the pure, glassy quality of the instrument comes across like a kick in the eye, the sound quality alone is amazing.

  • @RFreigeldorff Thanks. It was recorded from a firewire interface from Prism Sound called Orpheus.

  • @CountlovE

thanks - tasty chain, gave me some inspiration as to what do acquire next ;)

  • @CountlovE

thanks, great device! how helpful is the siemens?

  • The hair on my neck rose up. Truly a Breath-taking Synth. No wonder why Vangelis loves it so much.

  • My ultimate Synth... but you just hear Vangelis all the time

  • Completely, utterly, totally, and awesomely sweet!

  • Care to sell your CS-80? And yes, I'm very serious.

  • WHY THIS VIDEO IS ONLY 2 MINUTES?????????

  • Dreamy.. Just amazing. That just inspired me to get back into my studio for the rest of the day.

  • Vangelistic !! Fantastic !

It's inside me...this sound is so huge et deep !!

    I get chills !!

Nice video but too short snif snif

  • So alive!

  • This is a sound!

  • WHAT WONDERFUL NOTES!!! SHE'S A SIGHT TO BEHOLD!!!

  • great!!

  • That is one massive sound. I really want one, but they are so expensive that I would have to give up two months of full-time salary for it, and I only work part-time, so it will never happen.

  • @astroboomboy They pay you 5k bucks per month for a part time job??? Could I apply too?

    ;-)

  • @omissis75 If I worked full time, yea, but I only work part time so it would take me 4 months of my salary to buy one of these, hehe, but yeah, I live in Norway, salaries here are probably higher than any other country...

  • beautiful, I do get so tired of people moaning about how they can't afford real analogue synths, idiots, the lot of them........beautiful piece of music by the way.....

  • Wow... Beautiful!

  • What a lovely piece. Great work.

  • Excellent work!

  • Perfect piece of music. More than a piece of music, really. Thanks for sharing.

  • Have you ever compared it to the Arturia version? I'm thinking about getting it since I can't afford a real one.

  • Love the CS80 and so pleased you have one doing what it's meant to do. Make noise/music. Fabulous. I'm off to twiddle with the softsynth version and see if I can get that Dr WHo bassline sound nailed. Funky1 and 2. But just can't get it modified right. Too many things to twiddle with:-)

  • Glad to see that you have a Legendary Synth still up and running. I hope you make more Videos of this demos, I personally like what CS80 is capable of...

  • it's amazing that you found one of these great beasts. but i heard it can heat up a room and wonder as in you should know, can it? thanks if you answer.

  • @666laughingtarget It's not that hot. A Jupiter 8 gets hotter than a CS80.

  • @666laughingtarget Best love life ever after you get your CS-80. Never cold again.

  • I thought Blade Runner too!

  • Is this from Blade Runner

  • What camera do you use? looks very nice and arty :)

  • @CoolColJ24 Nikon D90 with a 50mm 1.4 Nikkor lens.

  • Greatest synth ever made and this video demos that very well. I have a CS50 which also has very nice sounds - for those of you who can't afford a CS80. I run it through Eventide effects and into a high end converter. The other models can be bought for a whole lot less and they do have that characteristic of sound that go through all the CS range. You just can't get as big a sound as the CS80.

  • Heaven on Earth... Soul to Spirit ... my Ultimate synth

    Lai lietus asaras neaizskalo.......

  • Man that thing sound really good.

  • The comment from classwar09 is unreal. This guy, CountlovE, has the best collection of videos and sounds on this website. He has talent and just because you are a self pitty fool then it shouldn't mean you slate him for his hard work, you don't even know him. Yes, many spooilt bratts get what they want, but he's not one of them. CountlovE is awesome for his sounds and you might be too if you got of you butt and worked hard to get similar equipment instead of wasting your time being negative.

  • Exellent video, and of course what an amazing piece of history you have there :)

only thing bad about this video is that its too short...

  • Nice ambient....!!!!

  • @classwar09 That is totally not the case, and you are completely wrong. I work my ass off to buy the synths I have come in contact with over the years. You should stop with the self pitty. When people were selling their synths for software I started buying them up when they were going for cheaper prices than what they are now.

  • @CountlovE well if that is the case you are the exception, not the rule. i know it was a shitty comment to make, i was in a bad mood that day, however, like i said, the exception, not the rule....and everyone THINKS they work their ass off, even the ppl i am talkin about.

  • @classwar09 I get your point, but I am what you might call a 'blue collar'- as a courier in the UK. I saved up and bought mine out of money I earned- although admittedly it was in 1996 and I got it for £1100 from a classic synth specialist in Staffordshire, before prices for this instrument headed for the stratosphere (I could see that was coming so I got mine early). Fair point though, I certainly don't make enough use of mine at present, but I would rather die than ever part with it.

  • @classwar09 he sounds talented to me

  • @classwar09 i personally know some "working musicians" or "working class musicians" and the bottom line of many musical-related conversations i entertain with 'em often turns on the topic that sounds much like "i'm working my ass off on a daily basis just to see the talentless daddy-backed ass overtake". this is sad, and annoying. you can't afford first class equipment? figure your way out with what you have.

  • This sounds incredible. Surely the most amazing electronic instrument ever made. How many other electronic instruments make you smile & cry like this thing?! If my balls drop tonight (lottery ball of course) I'm hunting one of these down along with someone who knows how to tune it! I'd consider my life somewhat more complete with a CS80 in my sonic arsenal ;-)

  • Hold on, I just need to mop myself up from the floor.

  • Wow, you really know how to get the best out of a CS80, stunning and beautiful. Makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!

  • Brings a smile to my face!!!

  • cs80 = 80s era dominant

  • @totto210 sorry toe,but that monstrosity, came about in "76" it was not released into the western world until "78" so that would make it part of the "70's" not the greedy "80". but hey the "80's" can claim the "DX-7" all it's own.

  • Beautiful delicate, fragile and complex all at the same time.

  • Your neighbors must love you!

  • best demo i ever heard on a cs 80 !

  • I feel......................... LOVE!!!

  • Quick peek and realized I never posted a comment here ;)

.... did I mention I absolutely love this synthesizer?

  • Awesome...I suggest you put max resonance on flute sound+large reverb+vp330 strings sound then play Vangelis' Bladerunner Blues...have fun...

  • @Synthink

I suggest that those settings and instrument(s) in question be brought to my workshop (this is a CS-80 audit). There is no other way.

Did I ever mention that I like the CS-80????

  • いいっ・・・!!w

  • Oh my God! Lushest thing I've ever heard?! I'm saving up for a CS-80 as we speak. This thing is gorgeous beyond belief!!

  • What an epic sound! ;_; Make more vids with this synth, please!

  • Excellent.

Beautiful sounds from the cs80! such an organic tone, I doubt ill ever get tired of listening to this synth.

    more videos please!

  • If Jehovah called his angels, would it sound like this? Such a magical sound...

  • Phuck it.

Best sound I ever heard..... FLY away

  • @gavincurtis Can't wait for that digital tuner. :) Yay Gavin!!

  • @CountlovE

That is the most pain in the ass project... Now I understand why even the Japanese couldn't do it.

  • You giving up? You should get David Rogoff to help you out with it. I am sure he would be up for it.

  • @CountlovE

Not giving up anytime soon! But it is a super complicated musical instrument. This isn't your average guitar to tune...

  • Well I do hope you consider having it work with an installed Kenton midi kit. :)

  • @CountlovE

Absolutely and it should work. Problem is I "broke" my CS80 "tinkering" with it. So things (my CS80 realm) pretty much suck right now.

    Back to square one.

  • @CountlovE

Absolutely amazing the electronics and intelligence in the design.

  • @CountlovE That would be the easy way . ;)

  • Can you fix mine?

  • I bought the arturia v collectrion a few weeks ago, is it possible to get this sound with the software CS80V? I've tried pressing in the patches 4 and 3 which are in the same position as yours and changing the envelopes and added vco modulation but i'm way off, I can't get that epic epic horn sound :(

  • You need to pick up a Kurzweil Midiboard for the poly aftertouch. That is the only way, and the poly aftertouch is 80 percent of the sound with the filter control. Also the flute patch (Feet 1) needs to be at Step 16 and brass (Feet 2) at 5 1/2.

  • fantastic sound!

    thanks for posting

  • Thank you! I really enjoy your amazing collection of videos. You have been a huge inspiration to post my own vids online.

  • Very nice subtle sounds from a wonderful instrument..

  • I do not understand...does FLUTE have any amount of aftertouch on brilliance or level? Manual says yes...

  • @omissis75 flute setting has level amount for aftertouch. The brilliance aftertouch is coming from the brass patch. I start off with flute only, then mix over to brass.

  • Thanks, so has manual a typo when giving a small brilliance aftertouch to FLUTE preset? Thanks, the CS-80 is a legend.

  • My Lord.....IT'S ALIVE!

  • @omissis75 thats a cs80 max...

  • @omissis75 it's full of stars! 8o

  • Lke tears disappearing in the rain

  • @dylandray8

Beautiful etheric sound and total memory recall.

  • Spot on dude, luv it..!

  • the CS80 is like the analog grounding rod in an endless digital storm....

    It is the Earth.....it breathes......
