Yeah it was surely a super car. I don't know where your source is from but 0-60 in 5.2 was supercar status. It had a top speed of 174, that was pretty huge. Mid-engined and pulled .94G, it took 20 years for regular cars to catch up, if that's not super then nothing is. It's main competitor was the Ferrari 355 Berlinetta.
The lowest that I have seen was 5.2 sec. If you think 0-60 in 5.2-5.8 in 1991 wasn't fast then that's your issue. even now most cars can't keep up with an NSX. The Ferrai 360 Modena does 0-60 in 4.7 and it's farely new. The F355 Berlinetta had very similar performance to the NSX. It outperformed the 911, and ran with Ferraris, pretty super to me. um the first concept came out in 2005, that's 4 years ago. the Veyron took 10 years to develop, and there's a Jaguar model set to be slotted below the XK that's based on a concept that came out in 2000, that's 9 years. the current M3....took almost 5 years.
All I can say is that BMW 5 series is GROWING on me very fast. I'm still not convinced with the 5 though but I would really want an M5 version of this new one especially if they soften it a bit to make it more comfortable for daily use like what they did with the z4 but not too soft that it would end up like a small Rolls Royce.
I LOVED the old 5 series, now all of their cars look the same, like Porsche. I miss Bangle, as much as people hate he completely turned that company around single handidly, and made them design staples. Now they are getting bigger and more boring by the second! The 5 looks just like the 7! So now BMW will just keep adding another turbo for every 100lbs they gain, and getting more boring.
I wouldn't really call the 5 series interesting at all because it's been just like any other mid sized luxury sedan for years. It's the M5 that makes the big difference. Wait until they reveal the M5 version of this new one and things will get interesting especially because the competition is now getting tougher.
And I agree about bangle. I really hated his designs but his designs were benchmarks among other car companies. Maybe he overdid his designs.
the veyron does need more hp to compete with the ssc ult aero tt and brabus tkr and the 9ff. but a bump to 1200 wont reign in the tkr and probably not quite the 9ff either (but since that car is in a different category im not worried). In my opinion bugatti should make a 2wd light weight version of the veyron. but then your average joe couldent drive it, which was one of its most amazing traits in my opinion, and since im not a bugatti engineer im not sure if thats even possible or practical.
but its ok to trespass and push cars to the limit on a track where there is no immediate emergency response like during actual track days?

the LF-A Concept was unveiled 4 years ago in 2007. considerably less than those 2 models.
secondly, they're making 300 of the LF-A and it was NEVER meant to be a mass produced car. it is a limited production engineering excercise.
don't compare it to the GT-R since this will most likely rape the shit out of it. the GT-R comes in a hefty weight of 3900lbs while the LF-A comes in at 3300lbs. this also has much more power with 550hp.

the toureg deezul is great , i live in ireland where Diesel cars roam in vast numbers ......... my dad has a lr3 tdv6 hse ...amazing engine ...serious amount of torque and not to shabby on speed ....ok acceleration wasnt great but its a heavy car ...weve brought it on vacation around europe ...and it took the autostrada and autobahn briiliantly
Richard did an amazing job with FLDetours . The only thing that matters nowdays in choosing a petrol or a diesel car is the distance you have to travel daily with it . Personally , i would choose a diesel over a petrol car without much thinking .

those are codes to mark the car when they change something on the car they add a number.
For example
E90 / E91 / E92 / E93 are all the current 3 series.
And if you think that is confusing try looking engine codes
for example:

Also the Japla was a sports car not s super car.

The LFA costs way too much! You can get a 600hp McLaren for 150k less. You can get a faster 458 Italia, 3 ZR1's, 4 GT-R's, and it's not enough car to warrant the price!

um the first concept came out in 2005, that's 4 years ago. the Veyron took 10 years to develop, and there's a Jaguar model set to be slotted below the XK that's based on a concept that came out in 2000, that's 9 years. the current M3....took almost 5 years.

All I can say is that BMW 5 series is GROWING on me very fast. I'm still not convinced with the 5 though but I would really want an M5 version of this new one especially if they soften it a bit to make it more comfortable for daily use like what they did with the z4 but not too soft that it would end up like a small Rolls Royce.

I LOVED the old 5 series, now all of their cars look the same, like Porsche. I miss Bangle, as much as people hate he completely turned that company around single handidly, and made them design staples. Now they are getting bigger and more boring by the second! The 5 looks just like the 7! So now BMW will just keep adding another turbo for every 100lbs they gain, and getting more boring.

I wouldn't really call the 5 series interesting at all because it's been just like any other mid sized luxury sedan for years. It's the M5 that makes the big difference. Wait until they reveal the M5 version of this new one and things will get interesting especially because the competition is now getting tougher.
And I agree about bangle. I really hated his designs but his designs were benchmarks among other car companies. Maybe he overdid his designs.
And I think the new 5 series is nice.

the veyron does need more hp to compete with the ssc ult aero tt and brabus tkr and the 9ff. but a bump to 1200 wont reign in the tkr and probably not quite the 9ff either (but since that car is in a different category im not worried). In my opinion bugatti should make a 2wd light weight version of the veyron. but then your average joe couldent drive it, which was one of its most amazing traits in my opinion, and since im not a bugatti engineer im not sure if thats even possible or practical.

The wait is finally over and after looking over the new design....I'd rather go back to waiting. The 03-09 E60 is and will always be my favorite 5er. I hope all of that unnecessary technology BMW threw at this new 5 series doesn't blow up in their dealerships faces(remember the 7 series of 2002?) can you say electrical problems? Because It's a sports car. They don't just go for the brand any more. They do it for the image. Lexus wasn't accepted as a Luxury brand back in the 90's but now they're up there with Mercedes, BMW, AUDI, Jaguar, etc.
If I had the money, I'd go for the Lexus because I wouldn't really bother since I would've had the money.

ok, first off, the development of the LF-A took as long as any other car out there. if you want to complain about a car taking too long to develop, then i'd suggest the Veyron. it took 10 years for that car to be released as a production car.
there's even a Jaguar right now that's going to be based off of a concept that was unveiled back in 2000. that's 9 years ago.
the LF-A Concept was unveiled 4 years ago in 2007. considerably less than those 2 models.

secondly, they're making 300 of the LF-A and it was NEVER meant to be a mass produced car. it is a limited production engineering excercise.
don't compare it to the GT-R since this will most likely rape the shit out of it. the GT-R comes in a hefty weight of 3900lbs while the LF-A comes in at 3300lbs. this also has much more power with 550hp.

the toureg deezul is great , i live in ireland where Diesel cars roam in vast numbers ......... my dad has a lr3 tdv6 hse ...amazing engine ...serious amount of torque and not to shabby on speed ....ok acceleration wasnt great but its a heavy car ...weve brought it on vacation around europe ...and it took the autostrada and autobahn briiliantly

Richard did an amazing job with FLDetours . The only thing that matters nowdays in choosing a petrol or a diesel car is the distance you have to travel daily with it . Personally , i would choose a diesel over a petrol car without much thinking .
