They expand the story mode into two modes here (one RPG style, the only traditional fighting). You do missions, dates, and minigames in RPG mode.

so you get items out of rpg that somehow benefit you later i see. cause i saw the hinata date 2 vid and naaruto gets a scroll on insect mastery after hinata leaves. man, i should go buy this game
