  • 3:53 jet stream.

  • where did you buy the high altitude balloon ?

  • How long did the 20 mile descent last?

  • @niflap It took 59 minutes.

  • @RoelKroes So average rate of descent was a little bit over 20mph.

  • @RoelKroes how long was it in free fall for untill the parachute opened? and do you know at what height? or did the chute open right after the baloon popped?

  • @timone1002 The parachute opened immediately after the balloon popped triggered by gravity at 108,000 feet. See my website for more details.

  • :57) Interesting how the pop is still audible-if just barely @ the top of the atmosphere.

  • in frame at 1:09 minutes there is some sort of light flashing by ????

  • @lazydayhohum That is the moon.

  • @lazydayhohum yooo ufo 1:09

    ?

  • how did it not burst into pieces when it landed?

  • @davidnitro333 It had a parachute onboard which deployed when the balloon popped.

  • 4:45 damn it, I wanna go down! stupid wind!!!

  • would the balloon burst later if you inflate it less?

  • @musicman1379 Yes, that is correct.

  • wat were the sounds earlier in the decent

  • And 1:09 Object in the orbit

  • @MrNulight That is the moon. If you look at my website, there are a couple of pictures which show the moon pretty clear.

  • What is that at 1:06

  • Endlessly amazing! thank you :D

  • I like the part on 0:55.

  • Ok, if this has been edited, just how long does it take to get to the ground from that altitude? WOW!

  • @19Duster74 you can also see it around 1:08

  • What if it hits someone on his head?

  • @zannteo There are legal limits for what is allowed and what is not to keep it relatively safe. But there is always a risk. However meteo stations all over the world do this twice a day. I never heard of any accident.

  • @zannteo

or if it collides with an airplane

  • what if it falls and hits someone on his head?

  • ok, who the hell disliked this?!

  • very cool !

  • @19Duster74 Correct. I've still got a video to upload which shows the balloon going up, there you can see the moon even better and also a couple of jets passing by.

  • Awesome launch. I completed mine Sept 5th, 2010, site at aerialparade..com... Good job! Got video up as well.

  • At one point it sounded like you had an elephant on board. :)

  • How did you find out what altitude it got up to? :), and what GPS tracker did you use?

  • @Mokhtar1 Have a look at my website I kept a blog explaining it all.

  • @RoelKroes Thanks for the fast answer!, but I still can't find how you got the altitude?

  • @RoelKroes Thanks for the fast answer!, I've checked your website out, and I will check it out more these coming months, but I still can't find out how you got the final altitude?, it's really hard to calculate the height using math since everything changes on that altitude. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm going to do this as a project for my school, I've checked alot of websites out and been looking for the best cameras etc, I'm just having some difficulties with the altitude.

  • @Mokhtar1 use a camera that uses batteries and a large memory capacity

  • if there was only a way to stop the spinning

  • @RonTxJediKnight electric compass and a servo motor to counter the spin and face one direction.

  • @RonTxJediKnight or use fins, that should help.
