  • I love the reverse triangle variation of this. It allows you to isolate the other arm and work for an armbar or kimura. Best part is nobody expects to be submitted when they have side control.

  • NICE!! Oss!!!

  • I did that on my buddys friend yesterday. Bitch was being a cunt and pushing me. He got fckd up!

  • Was Helio Gracie the father of Royce Gracie?

  • No offense but any choke or submission based on the use of clothes sucks...

  • @plastiko1291 because in real life everyone fights naked

  • @TheAntMMA your sarcasm is so stupid i wont even argue with you.

  • @plastiko1291 yes because just calling my comment stupid is an awesome way to avoid any reproof

  • @TheAntMMA i know, im good at this what can i say.

  • this is a judo move i think, or at least a very similar variation - sangaku-jime :')

  • I love these, thank you so much!

  • thats sick

  • great vid!

  • thank god this guy's back I hate that fat fucker

  • Good basics!

  • where can i get my hands on one of those silver gi's? its sick!

  • @J03N3R Coming this fall, Submissions 101 will be selling these. Look out for the Grey Armor edition.

  • @J03N3R I agree with you

  • WOW very nice!!! BTW cool gi

  • i did this to my brother once, except he was in north south, and was stuck, seemed to work though, not as a choke but control; maybe it could be a choke but i don't choke my brother, we just grapple to pin; turned it into a kimura lock from the bottom

  • nice

  • Nice Move. My Dad likes to watch these videos like UFC.

  • OMG I learned something!

  • Awesome choke, love this training

  • I'm liking the pedro sauer finger click ari, that's gangster. lol

  • Awesome, I always try new things with my legs. This choke is perfect : )

  • I have always been able to do this as a sweep. Once i push his head away and swing my leg over. I lock my legs as you shows, but I pull down with my legs and sat up. I would always be in mount like triangle. Maybe it's just because my opponents have had a weak base, I'm not sure. Would this be a good idea to do?

  • Just commenting to say thank you for all the videos you put out. It's very much appreciated.

  • I want to have a Gi :P I have only been doing no Gi

  • SUB 101 Logo looks like the Mortal Combat Logo.

  • man i wish i knew this before... so much easier then the reverse triangle because you dont need to pull their arm in !!! haha braulio showed me a tonne of tips on the reverse triangle but its still low % for me :(

  • finally, Ari is back.. these are the videos I miss!! this is what i subbed for (well subscribed that is!)

  • Look at the comments before you post your own. Just repeating the same things guys

  • What if he doesn't try to go North/South?

  • @Mackaframmalamma If he doesn't try, then you can go for the reverse triangle which will be the next video coming up on Submissions 101! Stay tuned!

  • Can you do this without the Gi?

  • @2fresh2defz yes, it is called a reverse triangle which we will be uploading next ;-)

  • Sneaky

  • Hi i'm 14 and I have been training jiu jitsu and wrestling for about 5 years. And at my MMA gym, I'm getting beaten by guys who are like 40-50 pounds heavier and have less experience. How can I get around them? Sorry for no relevance to this video, but I really love your guys channel and all you have helped me with.

  • @joeylz96 Try getting into positions where weight is not a factor.

  • @julianfolkBJJ Alright, ill try. Thanks for the advice, I can set them up and get them in arm bars, and triangles, but there shoulders are too broad and they just muscle out. But Its only gonna get me better!

  • @joeylz96 When I roll with bigger guys I usually try to get there back and just get collar chokes and if you are training no gi just rear naked chokes or armbars from the back work good too

  • @julianfolkBJJ Thanks. I'm pretty good, but the guys i'm rolling with are like 30 and are like LHW and MW. I train at TQ with Chael Sonnen and other really good guys. I'l try going for the back as opposed to looking for subs from mine.

  • @joeylz96 Same here I am 15 and my school has two different classes one for kids and one for adults and since I am training for a tournament I go to both classes and in the adult class I train with 30yr olds and some who are 200+lbs

  • awesome choke yet again, any no-gi variations? ;)

  • @logsterbMMA yes, it is called a reverse triangle which we will be uploading next ;-)

  • is that ashton kutcher?

  • you know ive never seen this technique done by an instructor before, but this one time during sparring when i was in this situation ive figured this one out myself. i was getting kinda desperate so i started to get experimentally creative and awkwardly tried this out with my legs, and it actually worked out for me and made him tap...and here i was thinking i was original : (

  • haha loving my new repertoir!

  • Very nice. Another great video. Thanks guys!

  • NICE

  • Artie,

What kind of adjustments need to be made to do this WITHOUT the gi? Thanks love your channel and videos.

  • @shay33ish

Add the arm, and squeeze the body. Reverse triangle from bottom.

  • HOLY CRAP! THAT is one hell of a move! I am gonna drill that like it's Brittney Palmer. 6'4" guy, I LOVE moves that take advantage of my lengthy arms/legs. I especially love moves that allow me to turn a "bad" spot into a win; ie being on the bottom.

  • Anychance of uploading a No-Gi variation?? :D

  • @MyBass0wnzu yes, it is called a reverse triangle which we will be uploading next ;-)

  • @MyBass0wnzu You CAN grab onto your shin and then triangle your legs for a nogi variation but it may not be as tight.

  • @Submissions101 Hey Does Him having The Gi Help With Doing The Submission? Or Can You Do This One With No-Gi

  • wow i wonder if my instructor is subbed, we worked this today!

  • tight

  • Great submission! love it!

  • You do it without his arm in, correct?

  • @pball72008 Yes, his arm is not in.

  • if you have not the kimono, you could do it?

  • @camelon4567

I think you mean "gi", not "kimono". They are very similar looking, but a gi is very thick and tough, and is basically light armor. I've seen a variation of this move in UFC(which is no-gi, for those who do not know), which was referred to as a "reverse triangle choke", I believe.

  • Nice choke. Fuck the first two guys who commented.

  • @SpartanJoe712 lol...not sure why people post "first" and "second". They get deleted all the time ;-)

  • @Submissions101 I'm glad you remove those stupid "first" comments. They add nothing to the discussion. I have a question though, is there a way we can do this without the gi? I know there won't be a collar involved, but can we do something else to make it choke him?

  • @Submissions101 threehundredandeleventh :P

  • @superdruid999 lol...

  • definitely gonna try this one the next time i roll :)

  • Ari is the man!

  • Thanks for all the support! We have dozens of new videos coming to our channel. Stay tuned and keep on rolling!

  • @Submissions101 Faster! Faster! We need them daily!

  • @Submissions101 two questions if you wudnt mind replying: 1. why do you lock at the ankles instead of the traditional ankle under knee lock like in the triangle choke? 2. how can this move be applied in a nogi situation where you can not grab their collar? obviously i can think of a few ways to use my hands to replace the grabbing of the collar im just curious as to what you guys would instruct?

  • @casf120 If your legs are long enough, you can triangle your legs no problem BUT sometimes your opponent will be too broad. Either or is fine. Always make your technique your own. This move is dependent of gi control.
