  • my advise, wash out the gravel very wel and put it in the tank. Fill it up with water and REAL plants and maybe a piece of wood. Fill up the filter with cotton wool. Dont use any coal cause it wil filtrate usefull bacteria. In the next month we put minimal amounts of fishfood in the water for 2 times a weak. This will be important for the bacteria grow. After a month (when water is tested) you can release the fist shoal of fish. Anter an onther weak the second shoal. The key is, take time.

  • @roofvishoek Maybe i made a lot off spelling mistakes... i'm sorry, my english is not that good :)

  • thats dumb when i was 7 i set up a tank and killed my fish by doing this now i have learned i have had a tank up for 5 years and the goldfish has grown from 2 inches up to nearly 9 inches

  • um for something that is the most important thing that everyone knows but beginners that will kill your new fish if not done CYCLE THE FUCKING TANK HOW CAN U FORGET TO MENTION IT oh put in the conditioner, heater, and filter and there go ahead put the fish in thats just ignorant not to mention

  • I have this tank, the 30gal one. My first time dealing with the bi-o-wheel set up. So far, my Oranda and Pleco love it!

  • not the greatest tank setup considering that the filter inside the hood doesn't pull alot of the polluntants out during the life of the tank. Cool concept but bad on application.

  • that is not 18 gallons

  • @airbusa1 how much is it? seriously, cause i was thinking of getting that type of tank

  • @kgronsbell idk about the tank but heayersare usually like 20$ filters about 20-30$ gravel 20$ per 15 lbs i think

  • This is all wrong you can't just do that You gotta have a biological filtoration put in some snails or live plants these people are crazy and I have freshwater and saltwater aquariums I would know

  • wtf fail video

  • where can i find on of these and how much should i plan on spending..? plz respond if i can also put 2 or three clown fish in and an anemone and some other fish mates with this tank???plz reply!!

  • u cant put 3 clowns in 1 tank unless its like 100g+ 2 will pair up and kill the other.. also u cant put an anemone in a nano unless that is all ur going to have. anemones move on their own and sting and will kill corals and fish.... plus they need perfect parameters and lighting and water flow wich is pricey... if u go with a cube they only make a few types of lights for those.. the best would be the jbj 150w metal halide upgrade hood... its $400

  • my oscars go tothe bottom of the fucking tank and just lay there like fucks every time i turn the lights on in my tank. it fucking pisses me off theyre only babies. i might have overfed them live food but thats the only thing i can think of that ive done wrong. ive dechlorinated the water and all that bullshit.

  • Whoa chill man they are fish. They are scared of people quite often because you are giant.

Oscars like low light so you might have too much light.

Give them a branch or something to hide under so they can get to know you, and they are that smart, trust me.

Be sure your water parameters are right for that kind of fish.

Also you can try African Cichlid sinking pellets. I have a baby Jack Dempsey at my office and he is getting to know me well because I toss him one at a time.

  • what happened to cycling that is the most important step ppl r gonna add fish and then be pissed off cuz they died

  • Denton..I meant, during cycling, just do water changes everyday about 10-20% to clean the detritus. It usually takes about 3-4 weeks to finish cycling. After that, a minimum amount of water change is needed, it depend on fish stock (overload or not) and plants, and filtration.

  • why would you clean the detritus off durring cycling?

kinda defeats the purpose when you go into the chemics of it.

  • You could build up the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate to deadly levels if you don't change the water out. You are building a colony of bacteria and it takes time for them to get established and used to the waste conversion.

  • I think it's ok in freshwater tank to put fishes in the tank without cycling..Just do the water change 10%-20% everyday. It works..I've been more than 35 years in this hobby..Just don't overload the tank with fishes..

  • if you had really been in it 35 years youd know that cant be done without deaths. cycling a tank is REQUIRED, not an idea..

  • lol and 10-20% water changes a day your crazy who has the time to do that what size tank u talking about

  • actually it works! i have put fish before cycling had even started and the have turned out fine. But most fish i put in there are kinda hardy like oscars

  • no need to do the water changes...i set upa 55g ciclid(only oscar's) tank...did no water changes...fish were added to tank same day problems.

  • Me too. But i also put some green terrors, jack dempseys, pleco, and a pike cichlid. Be aware fish some "Softy" fish like the firemouth cichlid die easily

  • how long must you let a tank settle after you put water in and then do you add tough hardy fish for the nitrogen cycle

  • Id say 2-5 days, but thats me.

  • You need to CYCLE the tank, please don't just add fish to basic tap water, your fish will die in a matter of days.

  • omg omg omg why did i wait 3 weeks to wait for the water to be perfect, i should have just thrown them in it !!!

good game man with your crappy video's now every fucking child is gonna buy that crap tank, and gonna throw clownfish in it ...

  • omg this guy sucks.

  • gaw this guy is retarded

people like him fucking destroy the hobby!

  • I agree, He is the exact opposite of a responsible aquarist.

  • ROFL!!! Please DO NOT follow these instructions, you will kill your fish inside of a matter of days... What about cycling the tank!?

However it is a nice demonstration of a self-contained tank unit...

  • this guy doesnt know what he's talking about hahaha

  • Just fill up the tank with some water, maybe from your toilet or wherever you have water and then put the fish in quickly before the water cools off too much. then add a little chloramine to the water to keep the fish clean.

  • welcome to expert village..How to Set Up an 18Gallon Eclipse Freshwater Aquarium.first get your aquarium and fill it with water. And then add shark in the aquarium..take a hammer and smash your aquarium..that all for today..

  • Blimey, im new to this, iv only had my tank a few weeks and i think i knew more. Honestly i really knew jack shit. I just think he was lacking confidence talking to a camera not so much lacking in knowledge, and that created him to make mistakes, you can probably tell this as he was not always looking at the camera and looked to the high left or high right and blagged it.

  • I don't think this guy was too sure about what he was talking about lol.

  • I would advise leaving the tank for at least 4 weeks before putting anything in!

    Doc

  • OH MY GOD! "FILL UP THE TANK, AND YOUR READY TO ADD FISH AT THAT POINT"?!?!?!?! Do you know anything about fish keeping? What about cycling the damn tank? Huh? Your supposed to add some source of ammonia, wheather it be fish flake or liquid ammonia, and let the filter run for 1 to 2 weeks. HORRIBLE FISHKEEPING AND YOUR TELLING EVERYBODY TO DO IT WRONG ALSO! Disgusting.

  • hence the "started".

  • "started" what? I dont get it.
