thanks saffibaffi, yeah so many people have forgotten about Utd's semi final game in 84. I was still pretty young at the time and have better memories of watching Utd in the UEFA cup final. Good to hear the celtic fans supporting Utd - I remember the same feeling for Aberdeen when they won the cup winners cup. I could never extend such empathy for the huns though - even if they were entering a subuteo tournament I'd want them pumped! :-)

Those great days a long gone now &  unfortunately will never return - even we are guilty of clinging onto the achievements of the lisbon lions to disguise the failings of recent decades. Perhaps for the sake of Scottish Football it would be better if the OF left SPL and gave the rest of scottish football a chance to flourish - who knows.

The Lisbon Lions are undoubtedly the best team of players ever. They are all the best celtic players ever and all the best players ever. First british and non-latin team to win the european cup, 9 in a row, quarters, semis, final of the european cup every year up until 1974. All my heros along with the great Jock Stein, the best manager ever. Outstanding. HAIL HAIL THE CELTS ARE HERE!
