It's pop music, there's no restrictions or requirements to what makes pop music, it's a blanket term for genres across the board

the impressive thing is that dragonette seems to be able to grasp all these genres and make them genuinely dragonette, such as this or something like gone too far, my personal favourite

@alexvngo nope. The synth heavy stuff, and banjo, are what made Fixin' To Thrill destroy Galore. The dreamy electro-pop stuff is their sound, and the bland rock stuff is in the past.

But if you listen to Fire In Your Shoes and Hello (martin Solveig) it just has such a great energy and i think the contributing factor is the guitar.

The song Our Summer imo, is a prime example of lackluster music. Doesnt make me want to "cop a feel" =P.

- what I meant by the past is that rock isn't their strong suit, so they should leave it in the past.

- Our Summer may not be a great song, but it's by no means a bad song... I don't think they're capable of making bad music.

- of course they have guitar. I'm not saying to get rid of it. I was talking about the rock influences. Basic rock is such a broad and generic genre that you have to eventually find a more unique sound
