The quality all depends on where u get it I bought a 50mw that lights matches (normally takes 100mw) from Dino direct for 30 bucks

I just got one. It's a nice machine, well-buuilt. Has a key-lock in base and a pilot light to tell when the key is turned. There's a little sliding cover for the lens, and it is focusable. Comparing to my 200 mw's, it's much, much brighter. It seems brighter than the Arctic, but hard to compare due to narrow, focus and different colors. But they seem roughly the same. My friend could see the dot on his house 1/2 mile away on a sunny day (but beam invisible). I'd guess 500 mw's, maybe more.

There is NO way that is a 5000mw green laser but maybe a 808nm diode at 5 watts but not 5 watts of 532nm.

@evilevilnes If a 1 W can be powered, then why not a 5 W? If you just scale everything up 5 times, and maybe use 5 batteries, it is certainly possible to make a 5 W (large) hand-held.

@ChromeXk Like I said, it is not 5 W. But it is a very nice laser, probably 500 mw. It's well-made, has a key switch and pilot light, as well as a slide to cover the lens. It's not a scam, just a misprint.

you get the 5000 mw laser in Thailand.-. they sell em at markeds and on the streets .. also a 2500mw laser.. 2000-3000 THB (bath) for the 2500mw laser :) ...not sure about price on the 5000 laser (2000thb is about 65 dollar)
