This march - the creation of that genius Prussian bandmaster Carl Teike - was used in WWI by both the British and German armies, marching to the front in battle.....what a bloody farce that makes of the whole war scenario. Guess the use of force was common ground in Europe since Napoleon; to see Hitler as a demon makes me laugh. England fight France and the Boers before WWII and nobody made a fuss out of it. U.S. grabs Mexican land and nobody complains. The Former URSS made havoc with his backyard and nobody says a word; Hitler tried to recover what France and the Allies 1918-1924 takes by force and OH he is a monster.

He attacked Poland, Netherlands, Belgium and then others after the whole of Europe went over backwards to appease him. And then he killed Jews, Homosexuals, Gypsies just because he didn't like them. This is one of my favorite marches. Was lucky
to have been stationed in Germany for 4 years.
Enjoyed it very much. Attended lots of volkfests and had a blast.
Viel Gemulichkeit uber all. Oesterrich auch.
