  • I have never heard of this guy, Achille, but it sounds like he has taken on somewhat the golden sound of Larry Adler or Leo Diamond. Who was Achille's harmonica teacher? What is his background? I really enjoy this!

  • @TuboEspectador I believe that

    Philip's teacher was Bill Hughes.

  • like if you got here from Robert Crompton in the Times!

  • it's good (and weird)

  • damn.. didnt know the harmonica could be played so classically..... =)

  • @linzee4584 that ain' no ordinary harmonica either.... that's a $10,000 hohner concerto ... only the Suzuki Fabulous compares and even that's not as nice.

  • @linzee4584 Every instrument can be mastered, but I see what you mean :)

  • very cool

  • Wonderful!

  • amazing. being a kid, i am huge fan of young musicians. go to my channel and click on the myspace link to check out my stuff

  • Damn Amazing! How can he breathe? x.x

  • some are draw notes and some are blow notes

  • It's a special technique called circular breathing, allowing you to constantly blow out and breath in simultaneously :)

  • Another stellar performance by Phillip. Such mastery is a delight to listen. Thank you for the great gift. Jay

  • Excellent !!!

  • smallest instrument gets all the fame :D

  • @iPodiRockuSuck See size doesn't really matter.

  • Amazing not just musicianship wise but skill wise as well. You've got to have a strong diaphram and healthy lungs to pull off something like this, plus the control of breathing without getting light headed is a lot to consider.

  • Great Friend !!!

  • what type of harmonica he plays ??

  • Absolute Quality!!

  • EXQUISITE:D

  • amazing

  • maravilloso*****5

  • Just wonderful! You have accuracy, dead-on timing, beautiful (and varied) intonation. Plus, you have a very engaging stage presence. I think what you are doing with the chromatic will help this wonderful instrument regain the credibility that Larry Adler and others enjoyed.

  • wonderful *****

  • Maravillosa interpretación,

    sublime y llena de encanto

    saludos... Juany

  • sorry man I can only give you a five star rating because it just doesn't go any higher 1to hundred this is a a thousand scale.

  • its absoluteley fantastic!!!!

  • AMAZING! @ first when he started it sounded like there was sadness in the sound then it got a lil more lively with the orchestra. This Harmonica performance was completely amazing.

  • Your talent is spell-binding. Amazingly beautiful!

  • una musica genial!!!!!

    ENHORABUENA

    BLANKA

  • Mravilloso

  • I always thought of harmonica as a bit of joke, but I guess I was wrong!

  • i dont have the words

  • awsome

  • Good music! This is my first time to listen harmonica concerto.

  • wheres the video of the pianist guy who came in 2nd? he was really good

  • Bravo! Bravo! Well Done! First time I have heard this piece. It is remarkable.

  • Amazing what he does with the Harmonica!

I've only heard the harmonica in country or bluegrass songs. What an experience this is to hear this performance from Vienna!

  • i have never seen a harmonica played in a orchestra before! But this guy has such a great feel when he plays it just blends in nicely. this shows that harmonica is a proper instrument

  • So fluent in his playing...nice reverberations going on too...but yes I would also like to know what chromatic harmonica he is playing

  • I think its a hering velvet voice

  • man that dude with the whistling thng is a beast!

  • Every note sounded wonderful, I had no idea that a harmonica could be played in that way with a full orchestra, it sounded great.

  • Wonderful.

  • Such beautiful music from such a talent young man!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Very well done, what a location for such beautiful music, I wish I was there for it. doc

  • Very nice playing... Refreshing!!even more so as it is outdoors and there is no acoustic echo coming back to the ears!!Harmonica is such a fickle and unforgiving instrument if it gets "depressed" and shuts down!..its rude and won't warn you!! What type of chromatic are you using??

    regards
