  • I saw the Nalmes dancers in New Jersey a few years ago. The men did one dance where they wore long gowns, and when they moved, it was like they were floating above the ground .. and they went fast too! I wonder if there's a video posted of it here.

  • @Astraea52

You can write Nalmes or Налмэс or Нальмэс here on youtube and look for it :)

  • i have memorized this dance. i absolutely love it and love being circassian.

  • Nalmes is the best North Caucasian dance troupe - no doubt. Five stars from Georgia.

  • @drunchula agreed ;) Most well rounded dance group. They know how to put on a theatrical show. It's the most watchable.

  • @budman62

I've watched hundreds of videos of Caucasian dances and what i've said before, it's said only from professional viewpoint. On the stage, Nalmes looks much better thatn any other north Caucasian ensemble. Keep good work guys and don't loose your history!!!

  • @drunchula

Thanks brother, the Georgian legend is very beautiful elegant classic and great too, keep up the good work!! :)

  • @drunchula yes i agree!

  • Salam Andy sideu wshita? k'aler eujik' ,ari dagushi'eneu fae qode, please ignore this Georgian guy he just wants to talk against something, i know there are many Georgian who are not like him and they know the truth, as well we know the truth :))

  • The only reason that you got old videos and got now in this day an independent country is because you allied with the russian in the Russian-Circassian war, they wiped us out from our homeland, there are no EVEN left overs of distroyed villages!! nothing left! they did a good job wiping us out, believe me if we had allied with the Russian back then like you, in these days we would had a country like you and old videos to show you, you survived, we didn't that is the reason you think we steal

  • @AndyNapso

WIth all due respect to Circassian people, it was Circassians who officially invited Russians to Caucasus long before Georgian-Russian relations started - you can check times of Ivan Grozny.

  • @drunchula

invited? it was giving a princess to Russia king just like french used to give princesses to the english it was a diplomatic relations, but Georgian invited Russians when there was a war between north caucasians and the Russians if you are trying to compare it is totaly not the same, besided i don't like that we gave our princess to Russian king

  • @AndyNapso

Salam akeykum my dear brother. I'm circassian, i'm from Kabarda russia.. Respect to you.. Where are you from?

  • @Beslanterek

    Walaikum Assalam :)

I am from Kfar Kama Israel

  • @AndyNapso

nice to meet you) Do our brothers from kfar kama speak circassian?

  • @Beslanterek

Yes we are speaking Adygabze we are Shapsughs here

  • @AndyNapso How interesting; I read that there are two towns in Israel that are mostly Circassian .. founded back in the late 19th century. Are you Muslim? Wikipedia says that you serve in the IDF, unlike Arab Muslims.

  • @Astraea52

Yes I am Muslim in my religion, and some of Arab Muslims and Christians and Druze also serve in the IDF and in the police

  • I know what sounds like my own language when i hear it, and Svan sounds like our than yours, georgian sounds like Iranic persian.

Settled? in Georgia settled Turks, Arabs, Persians, Greeks so spare me the nonesence

about influence, well if you wear our clothes then i think the influence came from us :)

Chokha has no translation in Georgian while in Turkic languages it means "Fabric" and tell me why Azeris called it "Cherkezi Chokha"???

Cherkezi means Cherkess (Circassian) hence Adyghe.

  • This is called Tlepechas which means in our language "on tip toes" this dance is written in our Nart legends that dates back thousands of years ago.

I know Svans got a reall similar dance, but Svans dance it only with men and women are not allowed to dance, and to tell you the truth i heard the Svan language and it really sounds like our language than Georgian.

here is a proof Azeris call the costume "Cherkezi Chokha" and Chokha is fabric in Turkic language it is not a Georgian word

  • The best group ever I would say...perfect!1 Thanks for the video

  • well it is hard to argue afte all where is the dance from because I meen common there is like 5-6 kilometers from Svania to circassia. pluss Georgians and circassians always had exelent relationships and often fought against Kipchaks and Turkish intrusers in north caucasus togather. So well I would say it is caucasian dance rather then either circassian or Svan, However Origin of this dance is found in many of the Svan rituals, now preserved as just culture which once was to preise gods

  • İnşallah oyunlarımız kendi özgünlüğünü kaybetmez.Farkımız ortada;) most Different culture in caucasus;)l

    only for Adyge peoples.

  • Yawa Tlepechas!! :)

  • it is not khevsuruli dance man but more like Svanian dance you may check out svan dances. looks like but its kida different in the way too. For example Svans dance only on the toes and never use the hands while dancing, its only between the males and there is no female involved. Maybe this dance is more like from Kabardey or some places close to Svania as I kinda think it is looks like origins of this dance is coming from Svan people

  • Standing on your toes is very known in Adyge ppl more than other caucasian nations, you see Adyge dances and moves come from horse moves and the word brother and horse is the same word in our language, standing on your toes means walking like a steed showing your agility.

Not all you see similiar to Georgian in caucasian folklores is coming from Georgia, i can say the opposite too.

  • I am not talking about all of them now, common bro :) however this dance looks alike as hell to Svanuri dance. Svans have only one, this kind of dance, in their heritage. I meen like lets take Kabardinka for example (my favouritest caucasian dance) well even though it looks like Daisi or many other Georgian dances it is unique Circassian dance and I will not even argue about it however on this dance I can say it is more like Svan dance dude, no offence though but Svans only dance this dance

  • well svans dance only in males and Circassians dance in pairs, i think it mean alot, this particluar dance is the most ancient one, this dance is even mentioned in our Nart legends, so i don't really think it came from Svans, and we call it tlepechas means dance on tip toes, and Svanuri is name of the Svan people, dances must have meaning in languages.

  • Svans dance in pairs too but exception is that there is no female involved in Svan dance. The reason for that was it was ritual to praise the gods thats why no females. The reason why they called this dance svanuri is that Svans were only people who actually danced it in Georgia. I do not know much about Nart legends but well, there is aincent Svan song on which this dance is danced on Called Vorgili Vosa, which is only melody that this dance is danced on. It is aincent song to praise the gods.

  • No female was alowed to dance this because while performing this ritual only men were alowed to praise the god while females were not alowed to do so, that is exactly way it is saved and preserved in Svan dances.

  • it is kinda different but looks like to be close to Svanian dance. Original dance on the toes in the caucasus is coming from the Svan region

  • What kind of this dance??its not adygeyan dance, its xevsruli..

  • what Xevsruli element you see here exactly?

  • It is a pure Adygheyan dance :) unless you invent new classifications!

  • please delete this message.U dont have to answer brother....

  • This is Democracy, everyone can say whatever they want :)

I just asked him what he see here as Khevesur element

  • :)) always you georgians are liers and thiefs... xevsruli. what is it you idiot, your every stolen dance finish with li li li li li li li... fuck offf...

  • no dude it is not khevsuruli dance my friend, khevsurs dance different dances like Parikaoba or kazbeguri for example, however this is more like Svanian dance, Svanuri dance is only danced on the toes withpout using no hands

  • Lapachi is surname in Georgia..

  • strange :)

well the "L" is not a reall L in Lapachas, it is more like L' or TL' i don't now how to prenouce it really, you need to hear it, i wrote Lapachas because it is the most close to the name.

L'apa or Tl'apa is toes or foot, Chas is stick or push in.

There is other dance called Laparife, same thing with the L or TL, it means leg or foot toe kick.

  • this means that this surname isn't From this dance name..

there is some Circassian surnames in western Georgia..

  • well i heard about Cherkezishvili and Abazadze surnames, what other surnames you know?

  • abazadze is Georgian surename andy, however cherkesishvili came and settled in georgia in about 16 century and later gained lorderly status for being very brave people and always in aid for the kind. Cherkesishvili femily was also very well known as rebelions against Bolshevik party. Abazadze however is more like rachian or khevsur mtiul Last name. iinformation about them is comming long before though, they are from more like Rachian and khevsur mtiul regions

  • Abazadze means "son of abaza" in georgian isn't? like Cherkezishvili which means "son of cherkess"

Shvili and Dze means son of in Georgian

  • ye it actually seems like one however in there was Georgian sub group later destoried during turkish invaisions called Abazgies the last name abazadze is coming from abazgie last name. Those people lived in some Parts of Abkhazia and down in places like megrelia tu all the way till Adjara. However well, first information about Abazadzes is comming from Shida Kartli region which is mid Georgia, they also think Abazadzes are people from Shida Kartli region There their last name root live until now
