People ask.. "who could dislike this?" The answer is: a lot of people. While I don't think they're bad, I prefer my music with more energy. Give me the blues driven tunes of the 60's and 70's, Punk rock and Ska, even grunge tended to have more energy despite the generally heroin induced haze. While these guys are talented, I think I might skip their set at Bumbershoot this year after listening to some of their tracks.

But the main point of the song, as it tells you when it says "With everyone stoned and talking at once With no thought to where they've been What they could've done" is that there is much more to life than getting a high, and to enjoy life sober.

But I think there's more to it: The man is sitting in the blue room with everyone stoned and talking at once; he is emotionally cold and gives no thought to what his girl has been up to. The whole social scene is broken; she has no shame cuz everything's the same in it's own way. There's a metaphor with the the mirror.
