just this last week if you post a video link to facebook it just appears as a link you can no longer embed videos, either that or something is wrong with the website

@adamepi8316 Good question! Yes it does. No matter where a video gets "embedded," the viewership statistics are still maintained here at YouTube.

That's one reason why having multiple viewing opportunities on various social networking sites is best. Although Facebook seems to be the only one you really need these days. Everyone's on there.

These days, I typically copy-paste the link and then delete it, and typically add a comment if I want to.

I'm pretty sure you'd want to use the "embed code" option when you're creating HTML yourself from scratch and want to insert a video player within your design.

You don't need to do that with Facebook. The URL is sufficient. Facebook handles all the coding for you.

The embed code would be overkill.

Your instructional video idea is a good one, given all the odd toilet signage from Asia I've seen posted on Engrish.com. You should totally do that! (Just make sure it doesn't violate YouTube policies. One guy, no cup, anyone?) Might be a better candidate for VideoJug.

Marketing Amway would be an idea, too, but I'm not much for sales. I've always rejected it anytime someone's offered me the opportunity.

how do you get a facebook video to youtube?

@hunneycaramel While watching the video in Safari on a Mac, go to your "Activity" window. Search for the active file, which will be several megabytes in length and doubleclick on it.

It'll take a while, but the video will wind up in your default downloads location with some odd title. Just search in the finder for a file of the same size, or maybe with today's date.

That's the video you want to upload to YouTube.

You may or may not need to convert the video to another format, e.g. mp4.

there are times that it won't embed and i'd have to wait for several hours to try to again. it's frustrating that the thumbnail won't show up on your wall when you're trying to embed it, it only shows the link. why is that?

@azarragamichael I've found the same delay when trying to load Facebook pics and also when trying to "@" tag users. Sometimes, switching browsers seems to help, so it seems like it might be a cookie problem with timeouts or something.

You're right. It eventually clears on its own, but yes, it's a bit annoying.

@adipresley If Facebook can't find or access the thumbnail right now, it'll just ignore it for the time being and try again later. This allows you to go ahead and post it now instead of having to wait until later.

insgr: no, that's a setting that the VIEWER needs to set. It wouldn't make sense for you to set to HD by default. What if their hardware doesn't support it?
