  • Thats a great video on caping man..thanks for taking the time to post it. I do euro mounts for people all the time with dermestid beetles, but have never taken the time to cape the heads. I may start trying to cape these deer out and see if the local taxidermist can use the capes. Nice details for a DIY how to video! The antler bases looked like they came off pretty easy. I guess thats because it was a fresh kill and the curved knife blade probably helped too. Those bases can be TUFF!

  • Excellent video, thanks.

  • Is that Chuck Testa? Nope, Louis Morse

  • how do you get the blood off its furr? will it stain the fur at all?

  • That was quick skinning. Thanks for the instructions was exactly what I was looking for.

  • Where did you get the knife and how much was it? It looks a lot better than when using a straight blade.

  • Thanks , good info in this video

  • thnx for the time you took to make this helpful video ! Good Job !

  • U r awsome this helps so much

  • You don't happen to know how you preserve a bear hide after skinning it do you?any links I can wAtch???? Thanks again

  • @SuperVeshi search for chuch testa he has a video on it

  • Thanks

  • Very good vid thanks for the up

  • now thats how you cure gingavitus!

  • Video quality is very good. Thanks for the post.

  • Great video. Very detailed. If you were goint to do a european skull would you just stop after pulling the skull out and then boil?

Also if I wante to do full cape, like the ones american indians would wear wehn hunting deer to become the deer. Would I leave the ear cartilege in wehn tanning?

  • Good tutorial. It will save me having to carry more than I need after a successful hunt. As for the other responses...don't worry about it. There are hunters, and there are others who would rather turn a blind eye and purchase from a supermarket. I wouldn't even respond. Thanks again.

  • LOL deer was saying FML

  • Hey FurryFortress why dont get go get caught in a bear trap and drop dead like a good little piece of shit!? fkn loser!

  • @MissfitnKitten This deer was shot, not caught in a bear trap. So yes, i'll go and get shot, you're obviously losing the argument here, look at all the others hating on you.

  • your a fkn idiot and I hope someone skins u and eats u asshole!

  • @MissfitnKitten it's dead, I doubt it could give two shits honey. Go be a good little PETA bear some wheres else.

  • Why would you pay money to mount a deer that small. until they get in the 200's b&c stick w/ a european mount

  • @foxhunter3211

I agree that deer is not that big, but most people hunt their entire lives and never even get an opportunity at a 200 inch deer.

  • what does have to do with the disgusting things u do?? killing animals is a horrible disgusting thing!

  • @MissfitnKitten

Is good grammar too much to ask? If you are going to talk trash, at least do it without looking like a uneducated fool!

  • @MissfitnKitten Just because exercise Taxidermys a terrible trade, it does not mean the people themselves are so cruel to animals ... or they are berated as dirty whatever. Either come here purely rational comments that are enthusiastic about the topic or not! People who don't watch this kind of things...shouldnt do it? On Youtube are so many fluffy Kittens, so you can look this kind of stuff

  • @MissfitnKitten Go watch a video on hydroponics... maybe you can grow some epic lettuce for your vegan salad.

  • @MissfitnKitten It isn't horrible. If you eat the deer then its fine. Taxidermy is beautiful and I hope to become one

  • You have a cut on your finger and your not wearing gloves? SMART.

  • Do you have any video's for skinning a rabbit? im a beginner, and i want my first animal to skin is a rabbit..but i need a lil help

  • i hope someone skins you just like that!

  • @MissfitnKitten Why do you watch these videos if it bothers you ?

  • @MissfitnKitten

Have you seen what it looks like when cats hunt? They usually take their time when killing their catch.

  • @MissfitnKitten If or when I am ever skinned like that. I will be dead. So I highly doubt that I will give 2 shits about what is going on with my body. Once again, because I'll be dead.

  • Really nice video. Thanks for the info

  • haha

  • I would love to learn how to do taxidermy

  • As a Taxidermist for 36 years, I would like to see you leave the eye sockets attached. The width of the skull is important. This is the wrong way to cut the skull. Open the cape all the way. Do not do a short incision. Use the skull and your mounts will look better and you will make more money. I get 850.00 for my shoulder mount deer.

  • wow thats awesome!!

  • good video and lots of good stuff to know. 5 stars

  • Thanks!

  • I see you are like me and hate those metal mesh gloves as they limit your dexterity and just flat out get in the way. Dull knifes also shred rather than give you a clean cut but by watching your video I know you know all that. If someone has never done this I recommend one mesh glove on the hand you use to hold the head with.

  • Very skillfully done. I am proud to include your content in my play list. Thank you again sir. It is something I could not do by words alone to share how to do this.

  • Excellent tutorial.. 5 stars

  • wow you realy messed up that deer head when your done your going to see wear you had to sew on top

  • 5 stars cool. I never shot a deer but if I ever did this is good 2 know thanks 5 stars..

  • nice Video!

I just got back from a hunt, I was able to bag a 12 pointer 70in

  • 12 pointer huh wow thats huge.

  • That was cool!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

    5/5
