  • are you comparing windows vista to a toilet? hahahahaha

  • I bought myself a new toshiba laptop a while ago and it came with vista and I hadn't heard anything good or bad about it yet so I thought I would try it and when I brought it home I turned it on and after I set it up I went to update and I got a blue screen so I called Microsoft and bitched them out for having such a shit product and that from now on I'm using ubuntu and I have been using ubuntu now for 2 years and not 1 problem. If I had the money I would buy a Mac but I don't so ubuntu it is

  • Chris, I agree with you 1000% about the XP and now have lots of choices senario! lol

  • Vista runs way to many Service nearly twice as many as XP and it makes the difference.

You need to get down to about 30-36 services running at one time to get the actual speed of Vista

SP2 is twice as fast as SP1 with more security and can be cleaned.

I'm not against other OSes because I never used them and have alway's used Windows!

"Turn Off AutomaticUpdates for faster browsing".

  • I use tightvnc

  • i like vista because i like to to screw everything up its kinda fun.

  • I havent had any problems with vista. I never even used it

  • @fakemanoan That's why you haven't had any problems.

  • I have been using windows since windows 98. I tried OSX for two years...just not for me.

I am proud to say that I am now on windows 7 :)

  • @acekiller121 So the 2 years you've used it were with Leopard and Snow Leopard I hope?

  • You know what, screw this video, I say that Vista is great and if you complain about if having so many bugs and stuff then think about this, nobody is perfect, nothing is perfect, not even every OS and computer is perfect.

  • 16:52 Shut the fuck up Chris! I agree about what he was saying that with the mac you can't change the hardware inside it so I say that Windows is better, and I'm not saying that Mac sucks because personaly I do like OSX a lot.

  • I have a question. Why does everyone hate Internet Explorer? I mean, theres nothing bad about it, its a internet browser and it works just fine. So, why does everyone bitch about Internet Explorer a lot?

  • @Pikatwig Because it's pretty much proven that on most systems it's slower than most if not all web browsers out there.

  • When I had vista I had more issues with SP 1 and 2 than with out XD

  • In my opinon Windows Vista is better than 7 because 7 has the crappiest freaking ui ever.

  • Also if Microsoft thought that win 7 would stem the flow of switchers they were wrong I have only ever used win 95, XP and 7 I have never touched, heared or smelled vista but I am still switching to a mac pro next month and taking windows 7 with me only for Blu-ray ripping if apple would support that win 7 would be no use to me just think Microsoft if apple supports Blu-ray you will be in real serious trouble.

  • Oddly enough you COULD own 5 Xboxs (or is it Xboxes?) if you don't like Microsoft. You could just like the product! XD

  • I run Vista on my desktop and I haven't had a single problem. I really think (based on what I've heard from others and my own experience) that Vista is all about what kind of hardware you have. If you have a 2 GHZ processor and 2 GB of RAM you should be just fine.

Although I will admit it's a hardware hog and I'm very tempted to upgrade to 7 just to see what the hype is about.

  • my father, who is from the non-computer generation, decided over a year ago : "I'm getting a laptop PC and learning how to use it !". It was a small laptop from Asus, with Vista on it - probably the worst way for a computer complete novice to start ! a year later (after having not used it that much) : "I'm getting a Mac !" And he learned so much more in a few weeks under OS X than in a year with Vista...!

  • its all wizardified LOL i love that comment FTW

  • 5:27 - 5:41 was the best thing ever. XD

  • yay i get a medal

  • Haha Kat, "Let me finish Christopher!"

  • Windows Vista <33 Windows 7 <3333 UU! Baby! Me want windows 7 best os ever better then every apple os!

  • apple boy!

  • I've gone to windows 7 and i'm very happy about windows 7 on so many level and vista did not give to many problems but my grandparent computer you could see a big performance improvement going from rtm to sp1 on a acer aspire t690.

i'm running windows 7 rtm 90 day trial and i'm going to be buying windows 7 i've had more with vista then windows 7. never use nvidia graphic card on vista had a few bsod and i was so excited hearing sp1 was rtm but pissed off not release for the public

  • Vista is ok.

But i do plan on getting windows 7 after it's been out for awhile.

  • I love my Windows Vista ^-^ (with the SP2 obviously).

  • never had an issue execpt games not working..

  • This is... a fair point T-T (I do not use the machine for heavy games +_+), even so... I still loving my Windows Vista ^-^ (with the SP2 obviously).

  • Vista can suck. Or be a great operating system. It depends on what your gonna use it for. If you want to fill it up with trenormas programs. It may not work for you. On the other hand it could be good. The base problem is.. That vista is not "strong enough". It's just that mac did that part better. And now there celling good!

  • @bartjoyce Yeah Vista is a memory hog too. Even with no programs running, the CPU is at 20% and the memory is at 50%, it never gets below 50%.

  • Heck. Same here. On a Vista machine I have, it uses like 18% CPU but 70 - 80% of the memory with nothing running.

  • Chris, i respect alot of your views and agree with alot of them, you have your issues with vista. they are clearly very thought through and well presented arguments. but the kat character in your video came across to me as alot of the vista hater people who just jump on the band wagon, have no genuine arguments and just latch on to others opinions and bash on windows vista with no real reason of there own. im probably wrong about her but alot are like that, and oh retards, disable the UAC

  • sounds like you don't know anything about Kat. She actually works for Microsoft. Her opinions on Microsoft comes from her experience as an employee and a lifetime user of Microsoft OS.

  • Wow, another Maxthon user, cool.

  • well I see the other side. I upgraded my PC from XP and I was ready for it hoping that it would magicaly work and it was easy and problemless. in 2 hours I was running Vista with a head that was not hurt. But now I am looking at windows 7=)

  • can i have one of your 5 360's

  • he owns 5, because 4 got the RROD, I would imagine =DD

  • The military is switching to Vista, HAHAhAHAHAHAHAHAH, that's going to be a dissaster.

  • chris is getting pissed of at 16:30 haha

  • I hear ya Chris!

Switched to mac and now, I see how damn advanced and hard my life has been with Windows.

  • i got my imac in january and i love it however i really only use it for skype atm lol, im using ubuntu on a laptop however i keep switching from vista to 7 and ubuntu on tht laptop cus its fun lol

  • Why is Chris such a gay macfag? He just has all those stupid arguments all macfags have.

  • your stupid if you look at his screens he's running xp he just hates the way vista sucks

  • I also hate Vista, and I'm not a retarded Macfag.

We'll talk when you can spell "you're" correctly.

  • @MusicalDesert

He's not a "macfag" he's just keeping it real and telling the truth. Mac OS X Snow Leopard is definitly the best OS i used.

  • you can use an xbox on a mac if u change the ip and dns settings ureself look it up on you tube and its yeally fst

  • w00t I deserve a medal!

  • whats the difference between vista and xp???

  • you still dont know? basically when this video was made b4 sp 1 and 2 it had many compatiblity issues and ppl hated vista however sum of the imcombatibilities

  • well it has to be under a gigabyte that's why the quality isn't so great and there is no editing

  • I just started using Vista 1 month ago and have NO problems with it.

The UAC pops up maybe twice a day. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?!?!?!

    People just like to bitch.

  • @chunksloth The problem is that you're not a power user and don't tweak (I assume). When you try to do that stuff, it pops up ALL. THE. TIME. I don't think people just like to "bitch". You're too thickheaded. Also note that this video was posted in *2007* and you posted your comment in 2009. (Which is when SP2 was out and fixed most of the problems!)

  • @chunksloth UAC pops up for JAVA's update manager during startup. It's a notification on the system tray. Fine WHEN installing Java, but not for TELLING ME "Hey, there's an update for Java."

  • hate it hate it hatye it i got vista and hate it. i use vurtual box cuz vista just WONT WORK!

  • hell no! i disagree to chris... mac's are gonna stay 10-20% for ever, not enough programs for the absolute consumer grade

  • youtube partners can have videos as long as they want

  • As a Windows user, Chris is definitely not a Apple fanboy. Vista has some problems. I've hit less of it's snags than other people, but it has some REAL problems. Microsoft doesn't need to want to listen. Windows 7 has many of the same issues.

  • WOW

  • i disabled the Windows Sidebar on vista and it ran alot faster

  • but thats like the ONLY cool thing about it!!

  • yea, well it took up too much RAM so i turned it off

  • yeah, btw u can dissable that admin privilage thing easily, just google "dissable UAC on windows vista". i did and it's great!

  • I sat through the Video. WHERE THE HELL IS MY MEDAL?!

  • i have never had vista but people always complain about it like i need to try and get it for myself :P

  • This depends Yes it does take a while doing the wizards (wizardifying) and thats fine but it has been fixed with weekly updates (you can change) that you download (automaticly) and for the pop ups that happen you cna do a super administrator account and get rid of the pop-ups.

  • Also, you must understand the times we're living in: a fast-paced material age - if people want a new computer, they can go to Circuit City and buy one for less than $500, where as Apple computers tend to cost a bit more.

Point being: as long as people keep acting irresponsibly with their finances (taking out loans they can't afford to pay off for that new TV), Windows will always have the upper hand as people will always turn to the cheapest product rather than the high quality product.

  • Holy Crap, Ive been thinking for years how to say that to people... Thank YOU!!!

  • Hello Chris,

I may be coming out of left field, but I did watch the entire video. I've been considering switching to OS X and buying a Mac Pro (I've used OS X before; I can't say I LOVED it, but it's something I'd get used to) - however, I am still keeping my Vista machine. I've been using this for basic to medium tasks - and nothing to crazy. I've had several issues with Vista, but nothing to cause the huge head ache - but enough to pose the question "Should I stop trying now?"

  • Haha I use Windows Vista and Mac... Yes it reminds me more of a Mac then XP definitely... No way in hell is it as easy as a Mac! I would rather have XP but Vista is easier for my Dual boot system

But it is more like a mac then XP definitely but not anywhere near as nice as a Mac (and no I am not just a Mac fanboy... I love windows)

  • I, like many people have not had the problems that Chris has. My search works just fine and there is quite a bit of support for the 64 bit version. I haven't had a problem with drivers, etc. I have used OSX as well, but I'm not switching, as there is no need for it.

  • @0zSpitt - Actually it's not based on the Vista kernel. The Windows 7 Kernel has been rewritten, streamlined, and slimmed down quite a bit.

  • vista wont allow me to go to xp with the version of the computer i am using. because of the acer hardware back up i can't use a different version of microsoft or any outher of install i did get sabayon to work as a 2nd boot for a while. i am using a virtuale cd of sabayon now thanks to you chris and it's great.

  • The guy on the line is VERY annoying. He don't know S...T and still is interrupting Chris almost half the time.

  • about those wireless issues theyr talkin bout, there must be somthing wrong with the network. 2-6 minutes? im conected with vista faster than my mom's macbook is! ud think it would connect with the mac aster cause its a freakin airport! personally, i love vista BECAUSE I PUT IN THE TIME TO LEARN HOW TO USE IT! just take the time and it works great.

  • wow u guys r like me.....u really need a hobby=)

  • LOL well i sat through ur WHOLE video now my but sore but w/e. I bought a new computer with Amd processer x64, 3gb ram, 200gb hard drive and the only thing that sucks on it is the OS. I had it crash, freeze, lagg, and alot more. Vista doesnt suck.. just has so much negitives. I think Microsoft Launched Vista only because of one reason, MAC WAS COMMING OUT WITH OSX 10 or w/e. so microsoft lauched it so all those microsoft fans dont switch to MAC leading to microsoft losing customers

    XxKOLOHExX

  • frickin half an hour

  • vista sssssssssssssssuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkksssssssssssss

  • Do you think Microsoft is watching this?

  • it's funnier than fuck all the idiots that said "fuck vista it sucks, i'll wait for windows 7". then find out windows 7 is based on the vista kernal. lmao

  • well, Vista is based on the old Windows 3.11 kernel. They just "improved" it. If you don't believe me, check Windows Vista Font installation box... it's the one that we've seen in 3.11 :)

  • the weird thing is that (at least in most of my experience) is that windows users are hating Vista and jumping to other operating systems, but a lot of Mac and Linux users are making claims (true or not is questionable) that they like Vista. WHAT THE HELL??????????

  • Vista inspired me to make the Jump to Ubuntu. Holy Crap is that thing cool! Smokes em all!

  • i start my work at the pc with windows 95 1996 and now i must work with vista.

    i hate vista.

vista is a joke and the last os from Microsoft for me.

Friends of me have Leopard and this is more than much better than Vista.

I change to apple in the future

  • I have respect for what you have to say here, seeing there are alot of people having problems with Vista. The interesting thing about this whole thing to me is that I have 5 Pcs 2 of which run Vista. The XP machines dont get used much anymore.

  • sat through, AND enjoyed it. i just got a macbook 2 weeks ago, and as a person who has sat through the issues of 98 2000 xp and the issue that is vista, i cant say how happy i am that i switched. thanks for the entertainment chris & co

  • Got Vista with new dell pc. First time in 10 years i've tried ubuntu (went back quick i might add),,,already looking at prices of macs,,,that says allot.

ps,,where must i post my adress for my medal.

  • I have got a laptop with vista that my dad had to trade back in because no one we knew could fix it to stay connected to the net for more than 3 minutes. I had that computer for only 2 months. I take computer classes at school the teachers dont like vista. one teacher uses XP and when we tried to folow the steps for doing stuff like finding a doc it is kinda hard bcause it different.

  • A week after using vista, I found out about OSX86 -> NEVER GOING BACK TO VISTA!

  • Spotlight & Search?

Who cares. If you have so much crap on your computer you can't remember where you saved stuff, you need to get some organizational skills.

Network issues? WiFi servers detected automatically in Vista. All networks have issues.

Also, why bitch about 3rd party software!?! They should be updating their software and not blame Vista.

  • One thing Chris is completely wrong about is that Vista won't be the death knell of Microsoft. Apple will gain some market share, but not enough to take out Microsoft. Besides, competition is the best thing to happen to any industry. Without Microsoft, where would Apple be and vice versa?

  • yes!!! ive always been a windows guy and an apple hater....and seriously.....i've been starting to consider a mac or linux....

  • chris is right i have a vista pc and a windows xp "thought i was getting something better" WRONG its slow takes forever...........it just sucks

  • i got my pc with vista ultimate and chris is soooo right there is nothing 'ultimate' about it! i now have xp pro sp2 with a grub boot loader with ubuntu 7.04 and fedora core 7

  • TeamViewer does not have support for Unix

  • Hahaha that Xbox part was hilarious :D

  • And besides, MS DIDN'T want to release Vista, and you said it has been 5 years. They got development problems, so they had to restart everything under those 5 years.

People was angry that MS didn't do something, and now that they did, they are angry that they did release vista.

I'm not going to do like you, chaining from PC to Mac. I've lived with Windows in my whole life, and I'm not going to restart all my knowledge just because doesn't have the same methods, techniques etc.

  • But Chris my friend, maybe you should configure the search function, err?

MS... Maybe it's time to fix the issues and TAKE FUCKING FEEDBACK FROM THE customers, sorry!

  • ubuntu all the way

  • I have "upgraded" or downgraded in reality, and i have been using it for a couple of months. I had 4 BSODS trying to install a data card! I want to try a MAC but can't afford it at current. I dislike the requirement of basically changing every component of your computer so that it meets vista requirements. Lets hope Windows 7 (Windows Vienna) will be better, or will it be to late for Microsoft?

  • I like the scolling chat screen. Makes things interesting.

  • joining a network vista 6 clicks xp 2 clicks mac 0 lol macs rock im using the same one as lockernome the 17" macbook pro 200gb hd 3gb ram hd glossy screen built in web cam and built in mic and a lighted key bord they thought of evey thing and it took microsoft 7 years to copy mac osx and they just killed it its the best thing about a mac the light up apple thats what made me buy it lol oh and using boot camp mac can run mac osx and xp or vista

  • I had xp and upgrdaded to vista and so far it never gave me no problem, and yes my pc was vista capable. When i installed vista, it made my web browsing 3x faster for some reason.. and as far as compatible issues the only prob i had was the printer other than that it all works fine now.

  • I dont own a mac but i can say this. Vista is nothing but pure garbage i got it for free for god sakes and i still dont appreciate it. It slowed my comp down about 25% and i hit about a problem a day

  • I am currently running on xp. i don't have any problems with it. I always here bad things about vista. so really, the only advantages I see to vista are halo 2 on the computer and gears of war. but I would rather buy an xbox 360 rather than screw up my computer. which at this time works perfectly fine.

  • Also it supprises me that Chris didnt know about Teamviewer

  • I Use Mac 10.4.10

  • IMHO Windows ME was better than VISTA. Iv been using XP for years I think XP is the best OS from Microsoft. So... when my XP stops working well not anytime soon this new XP its a year old Win XP mce05. When it stops working Im going to the MAC!

I hope Bill Gates is wetting himself in a corner. What a rip off!

  • I currently run XP and I'm not planning to upgrade until I have to.

With that said, I know of at least 10 people that are currently running Vista with no issues at all.

  • well vista works great for me...but i guess loads of people are having problems...chris needs to calm down in this video hes a cool guy n stuff but come on man keep your knickers on

  • yeyyy give me a medal chris hahahahaha

  • I am sticking with XP for now.

  • I like Vista and I guess my family is one of the few who doesn't have problems. We have three HP desktops running different hardware and they work the way they should with Vista. Other than that I haven't seen a BSOD since 98SE. I also use Ubuntu and I would agree that Compiz and Beryl kick Areo's ass! I don't have a Mac but if I could I would buy one but I can't afford it(I get my stuff for free, LOL). I am like a fanboy of all Operating systems, except freeBSD. :)

    ROFL @ MS DOS 25:14

  • Great Video

  • I have used Frankenstein Computers with Windows, troubleshooting the many many many problems over the many years. I still stuck in there as XP was such a big leap over Windows Me. Now after so many years of waiting, this is what we get? Vista? come on!!

So screw it, I'm now a very proud Mac user, especially because you buy it, but not only dose it just work, it dose what you want it to do. I'm never going back to Windows again! You are 100% right Chris.

  • the more i use vista the more it reminds me of windows ME but instead of blue screens it just locks up as is. even IE locks up... i had to dl Firefox to surf the net.

  • Vista works just fine on my 2 PCs...

... but my standard OS is Mac OS X.

  • It is alright when you get it from a torrent! I'm glad not to get so much bloody spyware that I get with xp...vista is okay, but not worth the money. For nothing it is alright, for something erm...

  • I use Vista, Ubuntu, fedora and OS X. The new vista media features are great. Photo is just as good as my mac.

YOUR FULL OF CRAP THE SEARCH IN VISTA IS WAY BETTER THAN MY MACBOOK SEARCH FEATURE. Every single time the first thing that pops up is what I need. Full of bull Applelite.

  • ha, I sat through the entire vid, all 29 mins of it. Good discussion. To you're last question to viewers. I got WinVista Home Premium OEM copy, used it for a while, and like Kat mentioned. Vista did work for me, for a short time, then I got hit with:driver issues, DirectX10 VS DX9 issues in gaming, internet connection issues, program installation issues, Security issues, all like what was mentioned in the vid. Everything that Vista has a bad name for, eventually happened to me.

  • And yes Chris was it? I have since moved back to WinXp pro, and I have researched Ubuntu/linux OS, since I had to reformat back to WinXp, because I have 1 computer that's waiting for an OS now and an unused vista CD somewhere. But, about Macs. never touched one, other then OS7 I think, super old Mac ne ways, didn't like it. ONLY because I am so used to Winxp's Layout, and scared of game/program compatibility with Mac OS, that I haven't considered Mac OSs'.

  • I use Vista to show off and XP to do stuff in a dual-boot configuration.

  • I switched to Ubuntu and its great! :)

  • In reply to Chris's question at the end...I have switched to Mac January with no intentions to ever return to Windows, no matter how good it gets. M$ has lost me as a customer because of Vista.

If they did not screw Vista up like they did, I would still use Mac (have been wanting to switch for a while), but I would not detest MS like I now do.

  • Vista is "THE POINT" to switch

  • Vista = toilet :)

  • omg, does kat work for m$? a guy who worked for them and he put up some picturs of m$ buying powermac g5's(the computer i have) and he got fired.

  • I have been using windows all my life and im seriously buying a mac no joke

  • well, we learn from our mistakes.

  • Yey i get a medal woot!

  • Forgot to mention my view, vista does suck but i think the fact it was released to the public in beta's over those few years of development, it ruined the fun of seeing a new OS :)

  • sweet i get a metal!

  • Well, I'm currently on Win xp pro.

Im all for win and Mac, Im not bothered as long as It works and does what I need to do.

I'm going to be switching however as Ive looked at mac's products and WOW what can I say, they look great!

    everything I need on there.

The thing I am pissed off about is Office 2007, I mean what a load of shit. I mean seriously. I tried for one day and I just went back to 2003, ALOT simpler!

  • My company uses Windows XP and it is not even in a far range of consideration of upgrading to Vista. So up to now I did not have my hands on Vista. Sorry can not answer your question.

  • Yes, I have used windows since Windows 95 - omg after nearly a year of Vista (I beta tested RC1) and i can safely say Vista is junk. I am switching i already have a macbook, just need a mini dvi to vga to hook it up to one of my 17" tft's and im there a MAC switcher, and when lepord comes out omg i hope never to see vista ever again!

  • wel i have Xo, had no major problems over the years. THe only reason people go for vista cos its new, thwe whole argument real. That means, it maybe be a new product, but does it work as you like it or more efficently, er, no

  • I might get a mac, i had bad experince with max 10 years ago, nevr used it again. But now i hear its good ill probably get one in a 2 years or so.

  • Whats wrong with home built computer's. My comp is built it would cost a lot more in the shop then me building it my self.

  • I think Microsoft should have released a non-bloated version of vista with all the bells and whistles that project Longhorn promised alongside XP. So we would continue to get service packs and support for XP while as a community help Microsoft develop vista with all the feature sets we want.. like WinFS among others. Then when we think vista is ready we'll make the switch.

  • beginning to hate vista after originally liking it. discovering that it's very buggy as is all microsoft products + compatibility problems are many. if it only 'worked' properly as it should i would luv it. it spends alot of time accessing the internet for various reasons that i'm not sure about. the new windows media player is nothing more than a store front to buy stuff from microsoft.

  • I find vista is not good with specialty tasks

  • my card is only a year old and cost 300 bucks like said it works just fine in xp and ubuntu studio so I am going to use that. then when I get my mac It will br my recording computer. As a person who uses a computer for a certain task,

  • Of course Vista has serious driver issues... Hardware manufactures don't want your 3 or 2 year old hardware to work flawlessly on vista! They want you to buy their new stuff! Dhu...

  • My next Comp will be a mac because as Chris says they just work. MS blew it with vista. I don't like how propitiatory Macs are But that may be the price paid for something that works. The way vista deals with wireless networks is enough to switch

  • I have chosen to run Vista on my custom built pc, selected to have it installed on my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop, and it has given me absolutely no problems. I love it's UI, it's ease of use, and the fact that almost anything I throw at it just works.

I'm a happy Vista user with absolutely no plans to switch OS's.

  • correction in XP there was little lag. Also I meant that I went back to XP but did decide load load ubuntu studio and works very well in facr there is no lag. Next investment, protools and MAC

  • I agreee with Chris.

  • OK here is my story. I decided to load Vista on my test machine. I am a trumpet/guitar player and I use cake walk sonar to record in Vista there was a little lag but not bad. in Vista, sound card does not work at all. $299 card thats a year old! I have since switched back to ubuntu studio no problems

  • total BS!!

  • i love videos that make me laugh because of the "ohh man, ive had that happen to me before" value. ironically, all the of the "vista problems" or "vista sucks" videos seem to fall in that category.

  • Agreed, Vista was not ready. Period! I've had so much problems with it that it is not even funny, so I went back to XP.

Where's my medal by the way? ^_^

  • i have no idea why ppl hate vista

    i use it

    i love it

  • W23Sneijder

People who have had no problems with Vista like Vista. People who have had problems don't like it as much. It's not that complicated. I personally have crawled back to XP until I see how SP1 fares.

  • I dont know about you but i can't play WOW on vista use XP.: (

  • TELL THAT DUDE TO STFU on the phone!

  • vista has potential, but doesnt offer enouph of a demand. we dont NEED vista yet, but we will eventually and hopefully they fix all the bugs. i have both xp and vista installed and i use xp for everything right now, even games. its not really vistas time yet.

  • I'm using Vista. I love it. I never really use a mac but my software is windows only. I really don't what to spend the money for a mac. I got a $500 dollar pc and it can do what i need it to do without any trouble. I must be one of the lucky people that Vista works good for. and im never going back to XP.

  • Actually you're not - Vista works fine for me...now.

I had problems with the TDR errors and was about to give up until I decided to think outside the box and troubleshoot my problems a little differently. Low and behold, Vista has been stable for me for about 3 weeks.

  • Chris, you gotta mute those annoying people in the chat room when you record video...it's really disturbing.

  • upgraded xp to vista on my computer. Had nothing but problems. I use linux now and love it

  • I hate vista. Its so bad. They designed it for stupid people. I went back to my dual boot between xp pro and ubuntu linux.

  • Vista feels like the Mac!?!?! Dont dare insult Mac that harsh!!!

  • I've had no problems with vista... besides a certain Windows anytime upgrade...

  • I am waiting, with much anticipation, for Leopard. I've gotten a new MacBook pro, put 4GB of ram in it and upgraded the HD to a 7200rpm version, all for a $129 OS. I Know I don't need this new hardware for Leopard to work, but I really want to provide the best mobile home for it :))

  • Yes. I am using XP now AFTER iv been using Vista since the first day it came out. And well although vista is pretty, its pretty bad. So yea, after all of this, i AM considering a switch to a mac. Probably do it during februrary, after Macworld though so Apple wont throw a new laptop at me. lol. MAC FTW!

  • oh and has anyone else had games/progs randomly but frequently minimise to the desktop while running? really annoying.

-thinking now i perhaps should have gotten a mac and run xp on it lol :(

and that way i would have been able to make use of the full 4gb ram i have in it, not the measly 3.6gb or so it can run in windows!

  • i have honestly found vista to be fine to work with, except for one critical program wont work-which i bought the lappy with vista on it for -Solidworks- i bought the damn thing with the primary use of it being to run solidworks on it and it doesnt work on vista! but thats just waiting for them to update it really.

  • I'm using both Vista and Ubuntu :)

  • 3rd on the list woo!

but seriously, chris makes a lot of good points, running vista in vm ware would have solved/eased all compatability issues!

  • Tried vista on this computer. Went back to XP because I couldn't produce machinimas

  • in case i eventually have to, i've figured out how to use linux everyday and its fine.

i do like the windows environment better though

  • Heads up Chris... TeamViewer does not run on Mac, not the client or presenter piece.
