What makes you think the Duggers live tax free? I'm sure they pay property tax, sales tax, income tax (on both TLC money and from his rental properties). I don't believe as they do but some religions state that men should rule the roost (I really wouldn't be very good at that one). They choose to live a conservative and modest life. Not for everyone but apparently works for them.

Their house could be property tax free because they have declared it a home church, I have serious doubts to this though because IF they have claimed it as a 501c they have to stay out of politics. (one of the rules of the 501c are that they can not preach about political things)

What I said was that IF they had declared their house a church is COULD be property tax free.

AND that I DOUBT it because 501c3 rules FORBID a church from 'meddling' in politics and since Jim Bob was a rep in his state and ran for Senate he would not QUALIFY for 501c3 status otherwise known as tax free status.

I have ALSO found other posts that suggest he DOES pay property taxes of at least 11k.

PS they have been declaring a home church since the first documentary "14 Kids and Pregnant Again" They talk about the home church when they were in both little houses and that at times there are over 100 people in attendance.

What I do NOT know is if they have done it for TAXES, and for reasons stated above I do seriously DOUBT it.

It is the "progressive" Christians who are interpreting it to fit in with modern society. The Duggars are strong of faith, and they follow the Bible as it is written. And yes, the teenage years are a hormonal time with even religious/spiritual people giving into temptation sometimes, so it is very likely that if they were left alone, they MAY have done the same. That is why they were okay with following the rules of courtship. And they appreciated it after they were married.
