@avenger007007 It's like that here in Norway too, we call it "The Idol curse" because the people who end up second, third or even fourth are most often way more successful in the long run than the winner is. The winner has a decent hit with the rushed debut single, ditto debut album and then they are totally forgotten. The runner ups however, can have long lasting careers of success years after they participated on the show.
